    My wife bought me a bottle of JBB for our anniversary. I normally prefer a sweet rum, but I enjoyed this whiskey very much. It’s incredibly smooth with a very subtle bite on the end.

    My favorite whisky at the moment..in my country it's labeled as select reserve small batch instead of black barrel. Beautiful tasting whisky absolutely adore it...it hasn't unseated the Glenmorangie whisky's yet in my bar, but they have been hard to come by due to lockdown

    Is the newer labeled Jameson Black Barrel, the same whiskey as the previous, Jameson Reserve Select Black Barrel?

    At Bow St. Old Distilley in Dublin one can bottle Black Barrel Cask Strenght for €100 straight from a single cask.

    This is one of the most popular Jameson bottlings in Southern California, and for a good reason. It is delicious.
    I wish you would elaborate a little further into the nose and palate profiles.
    I remember your father's surprised reaction to this whiskey when he tasted it in your St. Patrick's Day video.
    I would love to hear his opinions on it as well.

    Sipping some now. Did not pick the chocolate, but def. the vanilla. Pairs well with a Madura cigar, I am enjoying an A. Fuentes Gran Reserva and they are great together. Good review. 😎

    I absolutely love the normal Jameson whisky. On the other hand i absolutely do NOT like bourbon. Will i like this whisky or does it have a lot of bourbon notes because of the bourbon barrel?

    I bought this for 2024 St.Patty’s day on a sale for $35 US. Surprisingly this was nice tasting Irish blend, I usually go with Redbreast 12, Greenspot as my Irish preferences. This was very good and definitely recommend it.

    Any idea on what scotch would be closest to this taste? I can't 🤔 of any.

    • @dgdave2673
      @dgdave2673 Před 4 měsíci

      Glenmorangie 10 would be close, but this is definitely better than any of the Johnny Walker offerings. Maybe Dewar French cask is also close.

    If you know Irish and Bourbon it's a werird mix. Way too weird to drink regularly. It's not a good Irish or a good Bourbon. But it is intresting talking point. Worth a bottle for that alone.

      Fabian_0 : Because you're a child. You shouldn't be drinking until you are of legal age in your municipality. That said, maybe you drank too much in one sip or some went down the wrong pipe? Regardless, don't drink until it's legal to do so or, in certain parts of the world, you have your parents permission.
