For those who said he's making a huge mistake by coming back - this is exactly why you are amongst the 99.99% people who just exist and not live (as Oscar Wilde would put it)... Zidane is an incredibly smart guy (except for one split sec during WC2006 final). The biggest risk is to coach a club that has been doing well under the previous coach, like what Lopetegui, David Moyes, and Brian Clough did when he took over Leeds. Instead Zidane, knew that since the transfer window has already closed, and Real is already out of the Champions League and pretty much the title race, all he needs to do is to guide Real into a top 4 finish and he's a hero again. He'd also be paid very well for coming back, and in the summer he would be given the keys to do whatever he wants and make a big splash in the transfer market. Then next season, as long as he does better than this year, he'd continue his amazing reputation as a manager

Let's be honest, when you consider how many of the world's best managers have gone to Real Madrid under Perez and left empty handed, there really isn't a better candidate than Zidane to take on the job that in reality he always wanted to do by rebuilding the squad, but he must be given the backing this time that he wasn't given last summer! He knows the club, knows the players, knows the expectations and he's proven that he has an eye for talent, he was the one who made phone calls to Perez to get him to secure the likes of Varane, Asensio and Bale (ironic I know) afterall, now that doesn't necessarily mean it'll pan out perfectly but it must be said that if I was in charge of Madrid right now, I honestly couldn't think of anyone better to try and take on this massive job they have on their hands at the moment than Zidane and full credit to him for not only standing firm in his beliefs, but also for coming back to take on this massive challenge despite the amazing legacy he left behind when he walked away, the man really does love his club ❤
