What did you use to cover the sand box? Or what could I use

I leave it uncovered. But simple solutions are either sheet of plywood for solid top or stretch a tarp across it for weather repellant. I hear a lot of people have cats that sneak into their sandboxes to go potty time! Lol

amazing. Just thinking I would also put a removable decking top on the sand pit so the kids just play on top of the sand pit as well...does that makes sense?

Would this be sturdy enough to add a rock climbing board to one side ?

What do you recommend as a cover? We get random cats walking through our back yard

If cats are your issue, I'd recommend building a lid with 2x4 ribs and strapped with fence boards.

The materials call for (2) 2x12x8 but it looks like you used 4 is that a mistake or do i have that wrong? Thanks

      Hey Vince the material list is 2 @ 16' not 8', that's why you see 4 @ 8'😉
      Hope you like the build!

What was the total cost of the project (both part 1 & 2)? I'm pricing it out to $700-$800 if I bought the materials from Home Depot or Lowe's. Recommendations on where to purchase the materials?

Thanks for watching, I would suggest local lumber suppliers if possible as pandemic pricing has changed all my numbers. I couldn't tell you for sure but a nice custom sandbox under 1k nowadays sounds good 🙃
