    I grew up in las Vegas and I can say that the tunnels definitely have their own sort of culture. I spent a lot of time in my teen years exploring and sometimes sleeping in them. This video is really interesting!

      My Dad lives in Nevada but, I'm up in NorCal and nobody else is looking for my sister Tiffany who disappeared, last time she logged on facebook was (Feb. 4. 2016) she was already living on the streets in Las Vegas :( but, she'd call on the weekends asking for money and would show up to our Dad's for Thanksgiving. We haven't heard from her in almost 2 years, no contact, no calls, no texts, no visits, no trace. I've talked to the Sheriff over the phone and local hospitals, my Dad did check the mortuary (once last year) cause if she doesn't have a wallet on her with I.D. or drivers license might be filed as a "Jane Doe" :( :( :(

    This is one reason i want to
    Grow up and be rich, not the kind that's greedy and rude, but the the kind that is caring enough to help others and get them to smile as a gift. It hurts me to see how these people live like this, even though they may be fine, they still need aid, fresh food, fresh water, etc. it's things i wish i could provide but just can't at the moment. It's a life goal for me. Honestly most people would do it to get something in return, but i want to do it to receive a smile and a hug, cause that's all i would care about, the happiness of those homeless

      Also America's debt relative to it's GDP is manageable, whereas in some European countries the amount debt acquired will require several huge economy to solve.
      America's growth is also in the long run quite healthy, yet again, in many European countries growth is expected to, in the long run, falter.
      This is not to say there's not anything wrong with the United States, just some people are too acquainted with The United State's weaknesses more than their own region's.

      Discovery✌dude ... Whoever, whatever , wherever God is may he bless you sr ...I was once homeless in Baltimore city md. I know how these ppl feel and what they are going thru but even I found out it's never too late to start a fresh life! I went from gangs , to time in jail most of my whole life into my late 20s ,to drugs to losing my fam, my kids ,my happiness, my soul but I over came my demons with fighting hard to change my life I literally had to leave my home town in 09 after my fiancee died from OD ! I was 27 she was 20 now I'm 36 and living well . No more demons but still deal with regret , I'm just happy to be out of the streets and alive and engaged in love again! I have my own home and I'm actually proud of myself for a change but like I said I will always have regrets, and as far as my demons , I hope they stay gone!..I won't survive Baltimore if I ever go back and this makes me very scard, and sad 😢 it's where my fam is and I dunno if I will ever see them again before we pass on or not

      True that. I have three degrees and am almost a lawyer. If it weren't for a close friend for many decades who I have always helped when he needed me back in the day, I'd be living under a bridge because although I apply for work, for some reason, they usually turn me down and then I end up down and out. So yes, this kind of thing can happen to anybody. I now know from personal experience. These people really could use a hand up. :)

    The compassion of humanity still amazes me. As social creatures its in our nature to help but sadly most dont.

    • @rebekah1362
      @rebekah1362 Před 2 lety

      Most don't because it's *not* in human nature to help. People are naturally selfish and self-centered. It's why as toddlers we have to be *taught* to share. Children naturally say *mine* when they have something and don't want anyone else to take it. Or try to take something someone else has. They hit and hide their hands. They lie and have to be taught to tell the truth. They have to be taught to do good, to put others first, to show affection and to say I'm sorry etc., It does not come naturally.
      We are born into a fallen state and only learning by example and repeated correction raises us to a level where we can *imitate* goodness but our true nature goes unchanged, it's just hidden. When there is no law, no structure and no accountability or reverence for something greater than ourselves, mankind de-evolves back to that fallen state and take on the same nature they had when they came into this world. This is why we need a Savior, to change our true nature into the right nature. Without Him we can only put on a veneer of civility, but beneath is always our true nature and given the "right" circumstances that veneer comes off and the world sees us for who we truly are.
      This is why you see the vitriol, bitterness, anger, angst, lust, bigotry, fear, sarcasm and rank hostility in comment sections across every social media platform. When people believe themselves to be faceless and don't fear the repercussions, they feel free to take off the mask of civility and reveal who they really are, who they've always been. A sinner in need of a savior.

    My friends and I used to hang out in and explore these tunnels as teenagers, on the Summerlin side. Never ran into any encampments and rarely any people (they were visiting, not living down there anyway), but read Matt O'Brien's book when it came out and have always been fascinated by these people and their stories. Looking forward to going back one day to help out, do some homeless outreach, etc.

    My cousin is one of those people that chooses to live in the tunnels under the strip and elsewhere. He knows I would take him in in a minute but he would rather live where he does. He does suffer from a bit of mental illness and yes, he goes through his cycles but he's a very good man and he is also very nice, probably to a fault. I think he often gets taken advantage of. Not by anyone in the tunnels per se, but from the dealers and others who live above ground. I haven't heard from him in weeks now though and I am bit worried. It's not like him to not at least call me or my brother weekly so I have to wonder if he is okay. It doesn't help that he is there in Vegas and I am here in Montana. It's not like I can just drive down there and find him either. Well, I'll just keep hoping he gets a hold of me or my bro soon otherwise I am tempted to put in a missing persons report. I have my reasons to be worried about him. Thanks for the great video, Seeker. It's amazing so many people have no idea how large the homeless community in Vegas is.

      Taha Berke Can Yes, thank you. We did hear from him finally and he is okay. He just lost his grandmother ( my aunt ) and she is the one who raised him. She was 94 though! His mother, my 1st cousin, was a heroin addict her whole life and although she loved her kids, she was not able to take of them properly. A few years ago I got a call from the LVPD informing me that she had been found in an alley behind a Von's in Las Vegas and had OD'd. So, my cousin lost his mother that way and his childhood was not the best although when my aunt had him he was taken very good care of. I think it was what happened to him in his childhood that made him unstable and brought out the psychosis and eventually, severe Schizophrenia. I'm just glad to know where he is. I can't make him come here and live with me or anything else unfortunately as he is of age and old enough to make his own decisions no matter how screwed up they may be.

You who allow this to me seriously need to rethink the campaign ther is no attraction to come from anywhere homeless to live like mole people in the sewers off the strip. You are being deported worse than the 7,077 children flooding the boarders from Mexico and you live in the free county. The police brutalize you the business men hate you and your family miss you when your dead and gone this absolutely garbage and should be ripped off CZcams for inappropriate miss information.
