I had a golden opportunity to meet him in 1971 when I was 11years old when he played for my dad's social club The social 10. I have since that time fallen in love with the legend and his exceptional great music. I and a few friends formed a band with local instruments and entertained people for a little change playing his music. I will forever cherish his music.

Happy birthday to a man of wisdom and life philosophical knowledge. I became falling in love with his music from my primary School because his music is more of divine message than entertainment. He is great teacher in the School of life and this is why his music is very relevant at every season. He has music for every occasion and season. You will agree with me that none of his songs is out of order or out of season. I love him and his music that I can not do any celebration without playing his music. He is among the first class God's gifts to the Yoruba Nation in particular and Nigeria in general. I thank God for his special grace over his life, family and ministry. Happy birthday to our icon and role model. Many happy returns sir.

Chief Professor Ebenizer Obey is a true man of God that was sent by God to give a good tiding to humanity through his songs. One of his song made me to give myself a name called Temidayo "oda mi loju pe oro mi ti dayo o" and it worked for me. I wish him many more long life with sound health. God bless him and all the entire family.

At a time I was addicted to Baba Commander's song. My own father introduced me to his song. In the late 80s and early 90s, whenever we are back from the farm in the evening, my father must play Obe Commander's cassette. Before I know what was happening, I started buying his records too. Lovely songs, with deep meaning in the journey of life. "Aimasiko lo ndamu eda oo, oro mi lowo Oluwa lo waa". Think about that song, how many singers nowadays pass such a message across again?
