This video shows you how to install a thermostat housing on your 2008-2012 Honda Accord. The thermostat housing holds the thermostat, which regulates coolant flow in your vehicle's engine. If the housing is damaged or leaking, that can cause problems.
This process should be similar on the following vehicles:
2008 Honda Accord
2009 Honda Accord
2010 Honda Accord
2011 Honda Accord

Didn't have to disassemble the whole engine to do this
Thanks a lot for this video. Had a cracked thermostat housing and you walked me through it perfectly. Got it done today in about 4 hours. One minor comment -- you forgot to mention the bolt attached to the bracket on the bottom of the air intake manifold. I figured it out eventually.
It was a real bear getting at those two blind bolts behind the housing!
Great instruction and quality of filming. One of the best I've seen. Thank you.
appreciate the help man , couldn’t go to work cuz of the leak i was having and now it’s fixed n replaced n everything works good man
This is Not replacing thermostat! This is replacing thermostat housing! Thank you.
Thank you for your help
Looks like a good video. I have a thermo and housing to install on my car on saturday, had an overheat and suspect both.

Good work 👏 thanks for translation Arabic language
Excellent video! Just wish I could have seen how you cleaned up the intake manifold surface. Same as you did the thermostat housing surface? What happens if I don't remove the studs to clean the surface?
Thats a lot of work for a thrermostat
Now is the time to change the starter also if you need one
Why take soo much off to replace thermostate?
Thermostat HOUSING!
What torque wrench are you using exactly?
I'm currently having a leak at that L hose. Not sure if it's the seal worn or need to change the entire housing.
You don’t need to remove all that to get at the thermostats on these k24’s
How do you get the back bolts out without removing the intake?
@@anthonybrowning6833 put the car on ramps and doit from under I use small ratchet with a 10 mm socket
what your have to remove
on a CRV 2007, working from below the vehicle, got a cracked thermostat housing, managed to remove the three bolts holding it in place, trying to remove upper hose clip , its not convenient, stuck at that point, trying not to remove so much stuff.
Two things, first, why reinstall passager side cooling fan? That could wait and gives you more room to work. Second, you removed the Starter but you skipped that in your video? This may confuse a lot of non mechanics. Otherwise good tutorial. Ty
Should have replace the heater pipe, looked like rust starting on it.
Forgot to remove the transmission and rear motor mount
How to replace Timing chain or belt
Awesome video for detail, however, you never mentioned you removed the starter motor as the inner thermostat housing is practically inaccessible with-it in. The other thing is your lack to inform people of the use of PB blaster or WD -40 to assist in getting the rusted bolts out, you do mention the Anti-cease lube (Nickel base I assume) which is paramount if some other poor bastard has to do the job again. I spent 2-days getting the stripped bolts out of the thermostat housing, the car had 200k on it in the bolts were disintegrating. I have been doing this for 40 years but never on a Honda. Thanks, DH
Nice video, but you didn't explain at all why you had to remove so many parts. Why did you remove and replace the second coolant housing ??? As far as we know, it didn't need replacing at all ! NO EXPLANATIONS WERE GIVEN !
