Hi. I've never heard of this before. There could be an explanation for it, e.g. it has been scaled or worn, but your best bet is to join a coin collecting group on Facebook, where you can post a picture of the coin, and get some expert advice. Please let us know how you get on with this.

I have a VERY off center strike 2016 £1 with the obverse and reverse rotated and one side of the coin practically squashed flat.
Quality control wasn't at its best when they were rushing these coins out for release lol

Hi. It depends on what type of £1 coin it is. If it's a new shape, after March 2017 and it has different dates on the obverse and reverse side, then yes. If it's flawed in any way, then probably not, but maybe, else just £1. As regards the 1993 Liberty coin, is it American? :D

It's not num 2 I can see X2 ££ signs instead of 1 also queens neck overlapping on to the gold on edging, I am not on facebook so very unlikely I'll go on it
Hi @@suziwalford9451 It could be a double strike. Without seeing any pictures of it, it's hard to say for sure. If you're not on Facebook, there are several other coin collecting sites that may be able to help you with a valuation.

I’ve two £2 coins that have a number of mint errors but cannot find a person who can clarifie these errors, I’ve a 2009 Robert burns coin with a number of errors and a trinity house two pound coin as well with errors I’m looking for a check list of errors to compare these coins. On one coin I have found a unique mistake that no one else has had on any other of these coins that I have seen on line and in pictures, please is there anyone with a check list of errors for the two coins that I have mentioned, it would be a lot of help to me, Barry
Hi Barry. Thanks for your comment. I'm not aware of a definitive list of coin errors. If you are on Facebook, there is a coin information group facebook.com/groups/371884439819671/ which are very helpful. Please check they are not fakes first. One of the tell tale signs is the text on the edge being out of line.
I'm sure the guys on the site will help you as much as possible and give you the benefit of their collective wisdom. Although the Royal Mint rarely admit to any minting errors, they have not admitted to any for the TH coin. You may see adverts saying things like "On the Obverse (heads) side of the coin, there are small raised dots around the edge of the silver coloured section of the coin. On some coins these dots may be offset, so, for example they may appear away from the edge above the Queens head and be very close the the edge or missing from the opposite side (below the Queens neck)." This is common on all two pound coins minted before 2015 and is not considered a minting error. This also applies for the Robert Burns coin.
