with ffp getting stricter over the next couple of summers - club academies are going to become ever more important. we have ole to thank for this - it was him who convinced the board they need to go back to the roots of the club and not keep buying in "star players"

Good point that. And yeah, Ole did stress on the fact the utd youth teams should be the best in the country. A lot of talent was attracted under Ole. I don't think he got enough credit for that part in the club, the change of culture. Back to the united way
It was actually Murtough, not Ole. Ole had no real say btw and was basically the puppet of Woodward; happy to be in the job. That's why Ronaldo was brought in. So much for Ole's big push for youth.

Producing talent to sell as well as refreshing the senior squad is going to be instrumental for all clubs in top flight. Clubs that are net spenders now will be the worst hit because they are going to have to sell even more than they do today

Your point would be valid if it was correct, shame for you they are all a year or more younger. Mainoo goes 19 in March, Biancheri isn't 18 until September, Amass is still 16, Elyh Harrison is about the oldest turning 18 in 2 weeks.
