I think you may have a short memory. The Lionesses failed to qualify for the Olympics on goal difference, even in spite of beating Scotland 6-0. That single goal difference could be attributed to a howler by Earps that allowed the second Dutch goal. Earps is only as good as Earps thinks she is; she's made some howlers whilst playing club games too.
Adulation has gone to her head. I hope Sarina Wiegman retains Hannah Hampton as her number 1 goalkeeper.

@@Onthemove6801 oh stop no goalkeeper new or old is perfect they all let some by & some are easy & should have been stopped but sooner or later everyone lets goals by. Earps isn't the only one all the other England squad goalies do far more then Earps does. Its naive to think she or anyone else can stop everything especially when there's dirty players like bright or James around. Hampton lets far more goals by then Earps does so common sense would say that's unlikely to happen until Earps retires & even then I bet Wiegman goes for another goalie keeping Roebuck & hampton still backups or alternates.

England has the loveliest competition I've ever seen. Competitions there are tightly real with a serene feeling. The premier league just wows me with its fluctuating performances. Yesterday, Liverpool worked its best ending winless while the gun springs failed for the gunners and they thoroughly were thwarted at the least of their expectations. I'm sorry if I've offended someone but seemingly, I see Pep on top, I don't know but maybe, temporarily😂. This league is just ecstatical.

If that's not a penalty I don't know what is. These players and their fans deserve VAR. It can be used for bullshit, but that missed call was textbook "Clear and Obvious" error.
Hang on...: when the hand is in its natural position, not trying to play the ball, it's no penalty, is it? That was so totally natural.

• touches the ball with their hand/arm when it has made their body unnaturally bigger. A player is considered to have made their body unnaturally bigger when the position of their hand/arm is not a consequence of, or justifiable by, the player’s body movement for that specific situation. By having their hand/arm in such a position, the player takes a risk of their hand/arm being hit by the ball and being penalised"
If you go to 11:13 and watch it again (and especially the slowmo replay) you will see that both of these offenses apply. First, because the player is stepping towards the ball AND her arm is moving away from her body towards the ball. Maybe in this case it's not an intentional effort, but if this case is allowed, one could easily do this routinely while using plausible deniability to avoid penalty.
Second, because that arm movement isn't essential to the body's motion. The player could have kept her arm at the side or behind her back, but chose not to. Had she kept her arm out of the way using reasonable effort, the ball would have passed by her torso. By failing to make that reasonable effort, her arm does make the body unnaturally bigger. The laws specifically say that if your arm is there you risk an offense if the ball strikes it. I didn't say anything earlier but peterpetr2212 is wrong to bring up how far away the ball was struck. Literally, explicitly does not matter.
What's not a handball then? I'm so glad you asked. Most of the time, raising the arms as one jumps isn't considered risking an offense, so long as the motion isn't overly exaggerated (the player makes a reasonable effort to confine arm movement to the minimum necessary), because it's almost impossible to make a respectable jump without arm movement. However, it's ref's discretion and sometimes players will get called on it.
In particular, if a player is falling or sliding and their arm is underneath them, supporting their weight, and not deliberately moved to affect the ball, that is not considered a handball offense because that is a consequence of and justifiable by the body's movement. A lot of commentators don't know this, which they ought to as it's part of their job. Again, ref's discretion applies and sometimes this will be called when it shouldn't be.
I just wish mens team would play like these amazing Man United women's team. All mens team should look at these ladies and learn something and that is club is number one ❤❤❤❤.

That booking after the goal in stoppage time of the first half was nonsensical. Its not Chelsea's kickoff so why are they fighting over the ball. Any Manchester United player has the right to the ball because its their kick. If you are going to give anyone a card then it should be a Chelsea player. There wasn't even any time left in the half to do anything.

Too many key Chelsea players off form all season (Reiten, Kirby, erratic Buchanan and Leopolz) plus too many key injuries (Kerr, Bright, then Bjorn). Hayes feeling the pressure with some strange comments of late and today throwing on lots of attackers rarely works as you need quality ball first and foremost. Dreadful refereeing in this game, 2 blatant penalties and a Man U red card missed. I fear we end up with nowt.
But yet Chelsea could today field an entire team of internationals, plus everyone on the bench an international, too. Should not need to rely on vagaries of refereeing.
