  • In this little tutorial i show how to retopologize a head in Zbrush, in order for you to have lower subdivision or a ready model to put in 3dmax or other program. I am using ZRemesher Guides and Zremesher itself. As well as UV Master plugin, which comes with every copy of Zbrush since forever.

    re the uv master I find it best to make the red area cover most of the front of the head and ears, then the blue line i draw really thick down the back of the head/neck works really well. if you have a cap on the neck, it distorts the whole shape, so best to make that a separate uv group

    hey dude, nice tut, what's about texel density for this workflow, I think the uv mapping is ok , but is some case of projection , nose are stretch, or texel density behaviour with this classic uv method... but for saving time and good result I think is very good... I notice there are a huge advantage if the HIgh poly model has the same uv as the lowpoly geometry.

    • @SpeedChar
      @SpeedChar  Před 4 lety +1

      The advantage for the high poly to be the subdivision of the low is that you can export a displacement map from Zbrush. And for the uvs, Zbrush is making maybe the best unwrapping of all programs I know of :). I usually make the seams in Max and then unwrap in Zbrush.

    i have a question..i have been keeping an eye out for your Zbrush Orc and Bull course . which is one of the best course. i haven;t bought it yet. but after seeing previews and reviews. i will definitely buy it. my question is that..in that course you said That course is for intermediate students. i have seen michael pavlovich videos. and quiet familier with UI and tools. but i haven't really started sculpting yet. should i get this course?. i mean i am looking for my first sculpt practice. what do you recommend. i even set up and own UI and Hotkeys. but i am afraid to start sculpt

    • @SpeedChar
      @SpeedChar  Před 4 lety

      It is dirty cheap in my opinion, the course. In most developed countries you will spend more for one lunch, so i don't know what is stopping you :). And for the fear, i have it always a bit. It will go away with the practice. To go with my videos you need to know basic navigation around Zbrush, Masking, hiding and unhiding parts of the geometry, and other basic stuff.

    is it ready for animation? is there any need to tweak it again in other softwares???

    • @SpeedChar
      @SpeedChar  Před 4 lety +2

      Yes it should be tweaked in max or maya or blender or similar. If you play and experiment more in Zbrush probably you can make it a bit readier, but for animation it should be tweaked.
