My dad been buggin the Japanese devs for years to bring us the new MV 8800 pt2 and they finally got back to him , and said its not in their current or near future plans , but don’t count it out ! That was like 8 years ago though 😂
The time is now!! next year being 2024 will be 20 years since the 8800 came out. If they don’t do it soon I don’t see it happening ever. A real shame because people are tired of the same old maschines, push’s, and all these wanna hybrid cheap sounding plastic controllers. We need a true successor to the 8800. The MV-1 might be the closest thing we get. That thing is meh. Cmon Roland. You made a new sp404 KEEP IT GOING lol
The might do it but we all know how they roll nowadays, think verselab…
A new Roland MV 8800 updated the right way at the right price will be dope! Right now is definitely the time for it.
I always wanted that Mv8800 i hope they make one
Word!
Roland MV 9K
SSD, USB C, SD card, CV outs, standard 8 outs, same sequencer, same operating system with enhancements including all prior SP effects. Here’s the kicker- it has an integra 7 inside the unit. Also updated hardware to withstand heavy use.
Sounds good to me
Sign me up, Where do I place my order?
MV 4 LIFE! 💪🏾💯
I gave my MV to my son to sale! Funny is I bought it in Vegas at a Pawn shop fir $150 so I got lucky!
The Roland MV 1 Verselab is dope also. So yea they have all the means to bring back the big boy. Would love to see it
The mv1 is ok, prob the answer roland tried to have vs the mpc one , but i dont really like zenbeats , too mobile appish for me. I need a battle ship like the mv8800 , more knobs , buttons , faders , pads, and an updated good design of the mv8800 os , not zenbeAts lol. Roland builds tanks though. Im tired of getting my mpc x fixed .
Hate the calculator screen
Damn ! MV 9000 All Daw Compatibility --- Own Onboard Daw , live instruments and vocal input ....as it was . Light Pads ,
Touch Sensitive Pads Option , Touch Screen , Music Note Tuning Sensors for Acoustic Music Sampling , Music Note Marker Margins ,
Tempo Change in a Single Groove for a more versatile composition , beautiful groove composition software as that of NI Maschine (the most beautiful out here ) . Most importantly , skins and screen films for scratches , its own stand as well built custom-made exclusively for it upon order if purchased tilt to any angle .
We in !
I have a MV880 it's time for a MK-II a lot of people want hardware it's the right time.
man i wish theyd do this, so many ppl like me work in IT and we dont wanna spend more time on a computer. wish theyd do independent boxes like this.

The 8800 is a monster!!!! And if we could get the literal exact same machine but with modern everything. Comouter chips etc, screen, all brand new modern parts (obviously larger memory and stuff dalls into this category.....) It would be awesome
The MV has more than enough memory, the only thing that could be changed is the speed. I still love this instrument
I would love that! I miss my old MV!
I had a MV 8800 and loved it!!!… hated waiting 5 minutes to load a track 😂
But having a DAW in a hardware, that was magic.
If they made something like this now, they should keep the pads but go all in on the DAW idea and give us a fully functional hardware DAW, with all of the effects Roland has now.
Completely auto-tune and harmonise vocals… mix and master… record instruments
… multi track recording, loads of ins and outs… maybe extra ins and outs digital so we have to buy adat converters.
But it’s hardware with the latency of hardware without the cost of a HDX protools rig.
Give loads of adat to be able to mix out into digital… give ABS in and out for mastering… let third parties make plugins for in and allow DSP to be expanded… lofi plug-ins will be a obvious addition…
Hardware I like to stay in only making music… this would be ideal for me… maybe go all in and have pcie for third party DSP boards… that’s asking too much I know lol
Basically what Akai has done with the FORCE but with the ability to record multi tracks.
The FORCE lets add a USB interface up to 32 inputs and outputs, but you can’t record that many tracks at the same time… maybe Roland can do it but not just give you DSP effects and synths, why not add other hardware to it like the guts of a INTEGRA 7… ROLAND MV 8800 MKii and a INTEGRA 7 would be a great combo… or just have their keyboard cards in the machine
I also think if they make one then keep the external monitor, hdmi out and updated graphics
Dude, that cycle is coming like Jay Z said; that refreshing sound of boom bap (call me crazy) is slow coming back. I need this!
Word!
i absolutely love how the MV software looks like fl studio lol
If they do, I will sell my Live 2-- I have the MV8800 and use it more than the MPC
MPC can't compete with the MV
If they do make a new MV.....please make it more user intuitive. It is taking me forever to master this MV8000 i purchased 9 months ago at the pawn shop!!
I got you look at my video at the end of this video this a link Ok?
@TAINO BORICUA well, I can understand why most AKAI users would say that... Because I'm one myself. I just believe in learning as many pieces of equipment as possible to become a true master at beatmaking....cause most would say learn one piece of equipment and go from there...and in my psyche...thats boring!! Lol!! Making the first beat on mv8000 was pretty easy, but to do the more demanding productions you need a lot more than just a little info on making a first basic beat. Thanks.
@@SampleKingsVideos thank you!!
@TAINO BORICUA true
An MV-MKII coming up?
I don’t think so.
Roland ditched that line years ago.
They know that the MV-fans group is not big enough.
Too much development and too less revenue/profit.
Price point of MPC is hard to follow. Akai has a more dedicated group of fans.
Besides that, the OG MV software was developed by a 3rd party although Roland had own programmers.
Take a look at the recent follow-ups and then you see that Roland is only focusing on smaller and more affordable products.
TR-8/TR-8S/TR-6/MC-707/MC-101/MV-1.
The more expensive units are synths. There’s nothing in between because that gap is filled by other brands like Native, Akai, Electron and so on.
Besides that, Roland didn’t call me for more info regarding improvements 😉
The idea is great but I really don’t think an MKII will enter the line up.
I am still hoping they do as a controller like machine.
Roland is Akai’s father pretty much though , in-house had to pay Roland 4.6 million for failing to lease their sounds in new models , Akai is one of them , besides Roger Linn and the early days , Roland is king ….. If they do surprise everyone it has to be now , or right after Akai press the trigger with an X pt2 or maschine comes with new maschine e again.
I'm surprised no one is adding HDMI ports to beat machines.
Cheaper to have software on your computer to link with the units. Would be cool though.
Mv with vp9000 tech
Right, Roland need to compete.
That would be crazy
Roland MV-9000 💪🏾
One can only wish Roland would drop a MV 8800 mk2 with more ram and an optional ssd drive, that would be crazy. The new gen MPC and the 404 mk2 are an awesome combo.
Now is the perfect time as computing power is up there with the vision of what the MV was looking to be back in 2004, it's biggest issue is it bit off more than it could chew, as it was constricted by the early 2000's technology.
fingers crossed Roland bring the MV back (and no the MV-1 verselab does not cut it)
If roland doesn’t make a successor to the MV-8800. They will be making a BIG mistake. They would sell like hotcakes, and shut down all these wannabe hybrid cheap sounding controllers
I'm not sure if they would commit to another product that's full standalone like the 8800 again. Though I could see Roland develop their own VST DAW for Roland cloud users. MPC's desktop software runs as a DAW, as a VST in other DAW's, and on the hardware itself. I think Roland would more likely develop a similarly designed application that integrates the MC boxes, and a potential new larger hardware sequencer.
I've been asking Roland to make a new MV since 2010 or longer and when they do I'ma need them to send me one to test c'mon Roland you guys know who I am 👍🏽🤞🏽
They are going small now...If you need any help I do Zoom Lessons on Sale CASH APP or PayPal $15/ Hr. www.skrecordingschool.com/AllNewSchool/cart/index/product/id/147/c/ You can call 718-715-4652 or email: admin@samplekings.com to pick a time and what you want to learn, Then we’ll book the lessons time and date. Now if Roland had a sampler with analog/ADAT outputs and the same software within the SP404 MKII then I’d say that would be the best sampler ever
Roland is going small now.
The recent M2 iPad would be perfect as the monitor/computer for the 8800 MKII. You keep showing a monitor behind it. It would provide an internet connection, web browser, storage, cloud access, and be the size of a monitor. Plus the iPad Pro has a Thunderbolt 4 connection. Think of the speed, the low latency, and if Apple ever gets off their ass, access to Logic. I’m sure I’m wrong, but it would be brilliant.
I like the idea of MV in 2023. I also hope it would be More DAW-Less. And that’s not the direction Roland is going. They want Cloud based back end for their hardware.
But was the MV1 a success??? I think it was a cool device but did it sell like they wanted to? I would definitely consider buying a new Full size MV. And it should support a monitor and a mouse. That’s what the Akai Force is missing. The Force also needs more cv tools and mastering plugins
The mv-1 is a joke. Roland is making a big mistake if they don’t revamp the 8800. It would sell like hot cakes…
it would be tight the mv series was ahead of its time / what I would like to see is 2 usb on it for controllers or ext hard drives plus software connect like Akai mpc beats larger library of sounds two headphone jacks for vocal recording faster load time software update inside the unit and etc
They need to make it with r- bus to connect to my old roland gear game changer and vga standard !!! With USB to hook -up to new gear touch screen Please !!! Alot of dreams will come true for long time users
They to get back in the game too.
It's Roland. Judging by the way the've handled the new MC Grooveboxes and the MV1, they'll release this and then expect you to sign up for some bullshit subscription service to get the rest of the features. Akai took a lesson from their page and now we have $500 MPC expansion/plugin updates. Here's a tip to all companies, make a solid product from day1 and people will buy it. None of this paid upgrade or 2.0 firmware (lazy dev) junk.
NI is about to do this as well. Company is donezo if they pull some subscription bs on their users after the underdeveloped maschine + garbage
Bro. I don’t need anymore drum machines lol
For you I’ll tell you something no one knows don’t tell anybody…..MPC LIVE MINI….that one you can get.
@@SampleKingsVideos lol I’m about to get a mv8800 lol never had one. Thanks for the heads up OG! You make great videos sir
I need that mv 8800 mk2
I think if Roland were going to do it, they would have done it by now .....
2024 would make more sense if they did.
I have the MV8800 yet as I spin live and make mix projects , it was never getting into my sets, because it's too tedious. I use my Ensoniq ASR10 which is so smooth, sounds crisp. and the EFX processor can be used in REAL time. That means you can run your signal sources through it and enhance/mangle them.. and you can create /use your own effect chains you want.I would like to see them make sampling with ONE dedicated section, with maybe a touch screen or scrub dial so you can edit your samples on the fly. I should come with 1-2 GB of RAM stock with room for 16-64 GB more. room for 2 SSDs, USB Cx2, 8 outs ,MiDi in/x2..thru/out..Optical,and keep the VGA/mouse functions with the mouse being uSB..To make it run faster, just start using something like a Intel i5 or AMD equivalent and give it total connectivity to a desktop/laptop for if you want to connect a DAW. So part ASR10 part Pioneer S1000, and part MV8800..We should write to Roland en masse and see what they say..
Please subscribe to help us make more videos.
Fresh owner of an asr10 myself love it. But been offered a good price on an 8800 though so considering it, mainly cos I can’t afford an mpc3000! Is it really that tedious to work with? Roland won’t make a tank like this again or should I just get the shiny mpc x and hope the touchscreen don’t break! What you reckon?
@@user-fo5bw6kl4d Sometimes we need t think about the validity of what people complain about. If you are only concerned with music and results, the main attributes are reliability and consistency, not how it looks or if it works 3 minutes faster. I already knew the ASR was slow to load, so I turned it on before other gear, then I would go grab some records, clean the needles, clean a few records, etc,and it was never an issue. It runs hot, so I did not stack anything on top of it, and I even bought the 16MB RAM. I never replaced it and still used the 2MB now over 25 years later, with no issue. I have the Roland MV, an EMu, and the Polyend Tracker is totally different from them all, yet it's so deep, for $700.
@@user-fo5bw6kl4d I will say Akai s6000, S612, S3000, MPC4000/5000, Z9, or get the Isla24000, which is great,built like a tank.
I wish they would I had one and sold it. I was looking to buy another one but I will wait to see if they bring a new one
We can only HOPE!
😮😮
I want to see a Mv-8800 Mk II
Serato studio best new daw for beats and mv was beast if those two combined they would made best maschine on the market. Serato has best sample engine and now even tracks its crazy

Still got my 8800 Asr10 and Mpckeys61
Damn you good to go Brah!
Roland should do it!
word!
Had a MV and it was dope but got fed up with the stop or start buttons going faulty. The sp404 mk2 does everything you need in a compact machine. If I ever got an old machine again it would be the mpc 3000. You can't f with it!
the reason roland make 404 mkII is because the rise up of lofi beats and people still buying and using the sp 404,there's still demand on the 404 so roland drop the MKII, i dont think Roland would make the new MV (IMO) because there's no demand, back when they drop the MV people trash them and said the Mp is way better, i think roland focus on groovebox and their boutique synth
Luv your boom bap videos bro
@@CORLEYKG5000 thanks man 🙏
As much as I love my MV-8800, you're absolutely right, there is no demand for a machine like it in the modern synth market. I think it's kinda sad things have shifted that way, cause not everyone wants to use a DAW, an' some people wanna make stuff on only hardware, but at the end of the day nothing is stopping you from just buying the old stuff if that works for you, that's what I did and I'm loving it :D
Hey Doc can you make a video on the Roland Verselab Mv-1??????
If I get one I am doing it.
Man I’m in the market for a MV-8800 then Doc drops this video 😂 If they drop one with more RAM, user friendly software, hot swap between standalone & controller mode, & mastering for streaming it would be a hit
Ill sell you mine bruhv. Where your located?
@@walkthebeat512 Atl, how much?
More ram? it can be expanded to 512mb. Why would you need more than that? It's a sampler/sequencer and light daw. Not a video editing stand alone. It just needs to have a faster processor, hdmi or similar out, more dedicated buttons/faders/sliders. 8 outs standard and DAW sync/firewire/high end USB or similar. I like SD storage.
@@chosenonebeats how much you willing to spend? Its just taking up soace
@@chosenonebeats ill do 300 flat but its a grip for shipping. Almost 70 dollars. So call it 370?

From where did you came with that vision?
I would bet on Behringer making a knock off clone with improvements before Roland would make a MKII.
Please make a new one.
I'd be in shock if they did.
MV was waaaaaaaay too slow, it was a beast, but a slow one at that....
It was real slow to load but, the work flow was super fast once you loaded up your project
Word!
You could modify it
Roland MV Zen???? I'd buy that for a dollar! 😅
Wow
i have an mv8800 basically new in the box used a few times, and i did love it but its not an easy work flow cause u gotta burn to cd and its just easier to export on the pc, so its just in the box till i get a good offer to sell
So did you sell it or you still waiting for a offer? Just curious.
@@rawedginnah I haven’t sold it. Not sure what I plan to do with it, just like my other gear from emu the proteus 1 & 2000, the carnival, and the korg trinity rack. They kinda all work together.
@@ciskid23 I see. I almost picked up a Proteus 1 today for about $60.00. I passed it up because I had already committed my budget to something different. I have to hit the brakes on GAS right about now. Besides, I’m running out of physical space. However, I’ve been relooking the MV8800 for awhile now. Thanks for the solid response.😎👍🏾
@@rawedginnah $60 is a deal, u gotta lock that up. I’ve been making so many trades over the yrs with music stores selling u 61 keys for $2000, multiple mpc’s. 4 trks,8trks,digital recorders, mics headphones, floppy’s. And u never get back what u paid. And some kid offered me $400 for it. Like I was making beats before he was born. And if the RZA sold his it wouldn’t be for that. I truly do want to move it all cause I keep it simple now just a maschine mikro n studio one 5 artist. But trust me it a clean unit, well cared for. Maybe if they come out with a new joint ppl will see how dope it is
@@ciskid23 yep. I understand. I think about moving some stuff, but I did that before and had some regrets later. The MV8800 fully loaded being one. I sold an SP1200 bc of a cigarette burn, in hope of getting one in better condition later. Prices skyrocketed as soon as I sold it. But lucky for me I was in the right place when the Rossum was released. Great point about a possible release of a new MV. That’s one major reason I have been hesitant in picking one up again. I would say that it could be a highly sought after piece and hang on to it a little longer, but you and only you know what you need to happen. I’ll still be monitoring. Thanks again for dropping by..😎👍🏾
I think a new SP808 is more likely.. the original could only play 4 stereo samples at once, as it used clunky Zip discs.
An eight (stereo) track SP808.. using the SP404mkii engine would rock.
SP 808 is the best SP of the series if you have one with an aftermarket CF drive. Obviously dedicated ram would be better also. Make one with 100mm faders at least 16mb dedicated ram, SD storage and 8 outs or 4 stereo outs and I would by another to go with my 2 CF OG sp 808's.
I highly doubt they'd make a modern day MV. It'll cost too much to produce as opposed to his much money they'd make in return.
It’s a shame isn’t it. Lot of companies do this now. Cuttin corners, and always trying to maximize profit, spending less, using cheaper parts/chips, not listening to their consumers
Really Doc ?Have you tried the MV 1?It's not as lacking as everyone thinks. That's where we are with the tec.right now everything is fast i love what those Mv's where about. But it's over for that. The new one has a software editor with clip base looping and liner tracking.Have on your desk top or ipad that's dope plus the sounds so many roland sound almost there whole collection.A new MV would be to expensive in my opinion.I thought the new one was wack until i dove into one it's pretty dope.
Ditto Bro. I feel the same way
You might be right but I miss when it was fun just play with the gear.
Nah, it's not coming. It's too much competition in the market with the MPC stand alone and they would have to integrate with the computer and they're too many light years behind now. You have to build a consumer base and this would be like starting from scratch which could make it very difficult to compete if they can't top everything Akai and Native Instruments have done so far.
They already released a new MV this year --> Roland MV-1 Verselab Music Production Workstation
That was my answer to the question also 😛
@@robwill2792 Yezzzirr!

The 404 mk2 is a great sampler but its not an MV. The MV-1 is the new MV & they’ve been giving it support. BTW. YOUR videos are dope & informative but as a SP & MV historian (lol) I disagree with you here….
Mv1 and zenbeats is basura , i need a battleship, a lot of buttons. Knobs, faders and shit, and zenbeats is like a mobile app pretty much
This Vid is way off. The Reason Roland stop making the MV 8800 was because its based on the S-Series Samplers from the late 80’s & 90’s & once they sold out the industry had moved on to PCbased. DAWS, & the DEV’s of the MV sequencer were no where to be found. THE NEW MV is better than most give it credit for
Still got the MV 8800. I want to rock with the MV -1. I think I understand what they're trying to do they look like they're trying to do what the MPC studio mk 2 is doing they got that little screen that can pretty much do what's on the unit but the software will take you into another dimension and you can do a lot there with the software. When I say software I mean in Zenbeats.
I hope not. OG MV owners got screwed.
