    I finally scored a used ICM3, and I plan to tackle this mod before long. Thank you so much for putting all this together! I also like Leo fernandez fandiño's suggested improvements and will probably give them a try. I'm also thinking I may try to figure out how to wire into the car's existing microphone, rather than adding a new visibly protruding one.

    Hi mate, this is an awesome job!
    I've done it and it's working 90% perfect, thank you very much!
    I still need to make a case for the components (they are in the glovebox, but it's a mess), install a delayed relay to keep the raspberry pi on for 1-2 minutes after I turn off the ignition and install a power/reset button.
    My only concern is that I find the screen too dark, during daytime it's extremely hard to see it (during the night is perfect). I've checked brightness options in openauto pro and the brightness is set at 100% (but I can't regulate it, I'm not sure if there is any other option to control the brightness or this is normal)
    Thank you for your help! Now I'm always listening Spotify in the car!

I have put LineageOS 19 (Android 12L) as the operating system, Sound Blaster g3 sound card (the sound has improved a lot due to the auxiliary input, in addition to all the audio modifications that can be made). And as home screen: Agama car launcher, along with: Guru Car launcher. And independent GPS U-blox7 connected directly to the Raspberry. In addition to the Autokit connection with Carplay and Android Auto. The result has left me satisfied. Greetings.

    Hi Stuart,
    I got the whole set as listed about 1,5 - 2years ago.
    Had to pause the project for numerous reasons. But now want to finish it.
    I have not yet assembled it but connected all parts and used a telephone adapter as power supply.
    It works although I get a warning for low voltage.
    I have a few questions:
    How do I get that need Saab logo on my start-up screen?
    How do I update the OpenAuto-Pro 13.2 software?
    The Raspberry Pi does not seem to find my CarPlay dongle. Is there something I’m not seeing?
    Looking forward to your solutions 😊

    • @SaabUnleashed
      @SaabUnleashed  Před měsícem

      Sounds like you have some incompatible parts. The power supply isn't meeting the 3amps the Pi needs, sounds like you're also using an incompatible Carplay adaptor. You need to do a few Linux commands in the terminal for the logo, Bluewave will support you with that on their forums

    • @barthoogvelt

      Thank you so much for you answer..
      Okay. I got rid of the low voltage by using heavier cables.
      I also got a new CarPlay dongle (Carlinkit) but it is still not recognised by Pi. Even when wired to my iPhone.
      But it does appear in the Bluetooth list on my phone. Am I doing something wrong?
      Also do I need to update Auto Pro? Please advise?

      With regards to the parking assistance, it depends if the donor car had this feature. If not, it won't work, but it can easily be switched back on with a Tech2. You won't lose anything, but obviously the navigation ect won't work because you don't have the other required components. It would be a good candidate for the modification upgrade

    Hello! Wonderful job - I am preparing to build my own. Two questions though:
    1. What happens when you simply turn the engine off? Does Raspberry instantaneously "die"? If yes, isn't that a problem?
    2. How does it act while driving at night? I mean, is there a built-in sensor in the screen that will automatically dim it? The same actually applies for driving on a very sunny day - is it possible to see anything with this TFT screen?

    • @SaabUnleashed
      @SaabUnleashed  Před 2 lety

      Great questions.
      1. Yes, the Pi dies the second the ignition power source is removed. It would be bad if it was running something that is constantly writing to the card, as it could cause corruption. As this is not the case, it is merely streaming remotely from your phone, it'll be fine. (And is fine, plenty of people are running it at this point)
      2. There is no sensor I'm afraid, it won't automatically dim at night. The screen is visible during sunlight. There's a in-use video on my channel
      This is a basic custom job and you are free to add additional features to your own build should you want to
