      Fleming yachts have never been built in the U.S. They have been built in Taiwan since the company started in 1985:
      "When the first Fleming yacht was being created in 1985, boat yards in Taiwan offered the best choice for building such a quality vessel. After extensive research, Tony Fleming selected the Tung Hwa yard, located just outside the busy port of Kaohsiung, to build his new design. Since that time, the Tung Hwa factory builds only Fleming Yachts, and every Fleming has been built at this factory with many of the same shipwrights and craftsmen. In fact, the same engineer who currently installs the engines, gears, shafts, struts, props and rudders has done so on every Fleming Yacht ever built.
      The many other craftsmen from our early days who remain with us are very proud of their work and experience. Their passion and skills are passed down from one generation to the next. Of course, new methods and materials are continually being introduced to improve the functionality and safety of our yachts and to ensure they all are built to comply with CE Ocean Class Category A or NMMA/ABYC standards. Fleming Yachts personnel are continuously on-site to ensure that ideas and designs are communicated directly. They also personally test and inspect every boat before shipment."

    A great beauty indeed; I appreciate the enclosed Flybridge design for the larger craft-- air draft no longer an issue.
    Would they consider reverse rake windows forward of the helm? or just not part of the Fleming "DNA"? the advantages being the 3 Gs: no Glare inside, especially at night; no Greenhouse heating effect; better Gasket longevity out of the sun and better drying...
    the rake could parallel the sharp upper rake of the bow itself.

    What I really don’t like is all the wasted footage at the back of the yacht. Behind the lovely outdoor dining space is a gap, half wall and flat swimming/diving area. To me wasted area.
    I would much prefer it all covered and deck all the way around. I would make the cabin 4 to 5 feet longer, which would still give you more than adequate outdoor dining space.
    I’m sure there is a reason for this (I hope)? With 85ft., would still want a single Captains Cabin, just in case you decided to take one on, even if the three staterooms were a bit smaller.
    Adore the Fleming, perhaps this is just my personal preference.
    I really dislike those slick drug runner yachts, but despite of the terrible outside design, give a bit more options inside.

Longer & stronger than normal anchor roller arm bc it is slotted for a carbon fiber drop in sailboard type fin right up front, can b 10ft down in water to help front end track straight even though ice breaker round & just float skimming in the air. When u want to drop anchor u pull out the sailboard.

    The way to hve adjustable draft is good fresh water store u can fill or not, great fuel store u can fill or not, but most of all shower water store huge, that can b pure H2o or brackish or pure salt water. This way at sea in bad weather if u don't hve time to fill shower tanks w/fresh u max fill from sea. Bc taking a salty bath vs rolling over or sinking is easy trade off. If u hve few days b4 bad weather fill the shower tank up fresh & clear. Hve walk way bags u can fill up w/ fresh or salt too same idea so drafting heavy in rough weather.

    The under 90ft rule not counting roller chain or rear beach deck if it is separate from hull & moves, but dunking it in water if u hve enclosed walls means serious lifting power, not happening. Just railings & water bags or fuel bags tied down letting down in water won't strain the lifters. Only if trying to lift back up. If water bags u can just pull plug, but if fuel bags then u need to use the fuel down or transfer it into tank b4 u try & lift beach deck.

    U will hve to winch up tender even if lifted by deck so u can fold beach deck up then let dinky back down. Or u r dragging beach unfolded deck a bit & longer than 85ft. If rough seas hving water bags on unfolded decks & hving them in down in water position is best set up. U hve to secure water bags if lowering the deck down n water though.

  • @jamesmerkel9442
    @jamesmerkel9442 Před 3 lety

  • @jamesmerkel9442
    @jamesmerkel9442 Před 3 lety

    Instead of 1 keel down middle also trace out hull front & on sides so even though less displacement 3 v keels trying to keep u planted. If u r going to drag something & thin steel keel blade is no big deal. Air system 4 beats 2 fins is best stabilizers system & easy cost install & repair. Sea keeper is budget blower in 85ft. Less v means more round or tri-axe. If u want less draft 1st & most then round hull w/ harsh double diagonal cut outs is best, still u need water tight bump crash protection in front short & sweet length restriction BS. Think ice breaker round tough front end & water tight crash still. It is like big f-ing round front end only stops short in water so naturally plains, Then transitions back down to normal semi displacement depth. Idea is if u r going to drag keel or front it is a wedge lifting u out of the ground slowly little bit then a little more progressing to back. Not smacking into hull. Oh we r "starting to drag slow it & back up, instead of we hit bottom & r stuck. Rounded front hull just floating in water/space up front. Front end of hull might b 2 ft of draft then 2.5 then 3ft, then middle is 4 then 4.5 all the way to not an inch more than 5ft at keels trace drag. It is key to efficient travel the draft & sets the wt of ship & stuff 1st damn think u hve to work out, normal loading. After out of swallows u can heavy load past 5ft of draft, but hving design functional loaded & less than 5ft is key. Rough seas being able to draft 6ft is ideal even if u just fill up fresh water hold or worst case sea water hold, or best beat fresh water & max fuel.

No inside helm & 2nd deck is enclosed helm & how u get to front of boat. 1 walk some u make right side walk down to stair & others u make left walk down to stair. Just a ledge u can hook on & use to clean windows on wrong side non walk.

    Fleming is a nice boat, but I'm no fan of the upward swooping bow. It also seems to "plow" the water, as opposed to "cut" through it. It looks very laborious to the engines as she goes along. I'd take one if it was given to me, but other yards are building "sharper" boats with modern looks.

I know the feeling, a lawyer scammed my Great Grandmother who was a 'friend of the family, after her husband died he lied to her to give him power of attorney and somehow stole her 300+ acres in the California Central Valley not to mention thousand acres in Arizona and Indiana that they owned. This was 1920's and it was easier for crooked lawyers to get away with crimes back then, he always made sure my Great Grandmother had her bills paid and money while she lived so it wouldn't attract too much attention. it is right in sweet spot, loop boats can't hve more draft than 5ft max not an inch more, & under 90ft ish, max beam under 23ft. Hving max ht limit of 19 ft or less new loaded from water, so mast needs to fold. Reverse rake glass 1 feature of trawlers is still missing from fleming. what ever hull shape gives least draft while hving most volume ie semi is best, & bow is ancient tired. Newer lighter material r key to getting low draft. Right length, right size, right tech IPS penta & solar & hydraulic beach & side deck folds & genset back up drive, all in classic sturdy tired & true dead fleming style. It is all about getting each prt just right bc only 85ft, just right power, just right range, just right new tech & old dead cues, & modern features & tech, & modern bow hull at a price that works in market. Too much tech or ultra material won't sell at only 85ft. But there is high demand for this product under served in market place. Ppl will naturally if can end up here forever boat & skip starter house. Esp if older stuff on market missing tech or hull or dialed in perfect total product, & modern not cemetery decor, ie timeless not dead yet styling.
