The biggest problem with Protos was always that it's bricky, so you usually just played one and searched it out after getting to a Synchro. But with aggressive Ishizu millers you have a much higher chance of getting 3 Attributes in grave without relying on your own setup. The fact that it can preemtively call Dark hits a bunch of decks, but since its effect board wipes if the opponent has stuff on the field you can also call an attribute in field after they've made stuff, like Earth vs. Block Dragon shenanigans.
I've been playing sword soul and honestly meta is kind of rough even with Protos. Best matches against Tear were when I drew Evenly and they scoop lmao
As long as Protos is legal, I refuse to play swordsoul. It's a completely unfair card. Sure tear sucks, but Protos was cancer before tear dropped and let's not pretend otherwise.
Protos is definitely broken, but in my opinion, it's what makes Swordsoul to play in equal ground against Tearlaments. Protos is a necessary evil in current meta, if it wasn't legal, then Tearlaments would win the matchup almost for free.
Can't wait to try this out. I like how simple Soul Sword is and i don't have to make my opponent go through a 20 minute combo
