The way Zayn and Harry are behaving towards each other is NOT how they treated their other band-mates. It's not just about "looks" and "glances", it's about their ongoing mysterious dynamic, emotional dependence, and physical intimacy. With the others they had an open and playful camaraderie that varied to different degrees with each other, and all of their relationships were work-driven and socially driven.
However, with Zayn and Harry, you can clearly see they were not a socially driven relationship. Most onlookers in those final days would hardly recognize that they were even on good speaking terms. That's because they had a super low-key and intimate bond that no one knew about but themselves, and that was by design, as Harry sang about in "If I Could Fly" a song addressing his and Zayn's separation in 2015. But in that song he expresses that his heart and his true feelings are for "one person's eyes only."

I think something happened during 2015 OTRA held at "CHERRY" blossom country which is Japan. The time when Harry distance himself to Zayn while the latter always checking and looking where Harry is. Zayn always make a perfect timing to catch the attention of Harry pathetically to look them eye to eye. At once I hate Harry because he intentionally ignore Zayn, it's like he knows what Zayn doing behind his back but he really avoided this to make it happen. This scenarios have been observed again and again up to the last performance show of Zayn.
The truth is that Harry was the most heartbroken when Zayn left.
Everyone in the band knows that.
