- Joker from Persona 5 (as you may know from my annoying self) was my most requested character for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and now the day has FINALLY come to present his Know Your Moves! It’s showtime!

I'm nearing the end of it. Had to re-start due to the PS3 unfortunately crashing. And it holds save data on the console, not the disc, so I had to re-do 130 hours of gameplay. But yes, the pancakes thing does get funnier now.

This isnt joker specific. But sakurai liked p5 so much that the menu transitions in smash ult are inspired by p5's menu transitions.

Two things, joker’s up tilt while he Arsene has electricity which is probably a reference to zio, the electric spells. Also the specific dagger that joker uses is the parrying dagger
or the Silver dagger, on of the earliest knives in the game. They use the same model after all.
And his down tilt maybe is a skill like kill rush clave or bash
but arsene can't have zio, if I'm not mistaken

Metal face is a old ally of One of the protagonist and its a big twist that is revealed in is spirit.
Fiora also another one of the protagonist is considered dead for about 75% of the game and She changes a lot in phisical terms (She turns into a cyborg) so the whole fandom basically calls her 7 because shes the 7th party member to avoid spoilers but her spirit shows her cyborg form which spoils it. There are other things but i cant remember them right now.

Here's something I quite surprised you didn't noticed: the reason why wings of rebellion gives you invencibility in smash is probably to represent the idea of "you're free, nobody can hurt you anymore"

I just realized that the reason that Joker can summon Arsene is Smash is because the entire game takes place in the imagination (cognition) of a child. GG
That was only the case in 64 & possibly Melee. Here, it's just because leaving out the ability for story reasons wouldn't make much sense in a fighting game that has Isabelle beating up gods.

Almost, Sakurai did said as well that Ultimate is a different world, it's somewhat non-canon to the past games. It's pretty evident since Trophies are completely absent mainly Classic mode which is were the original story usually unfolds.

This is the moment Alax has been waiting for his whole life.
Honestly, Persona 5 left a big impact in the gaming industry to the point where Sakurai based the UI of Smash off of P5, to its stylish transitions, and hard hitting zoom in at the end of battles, it’s no wonder why Joker would be accepted and if there was a new smash game, Joker would most likely be there due to SEGA’s and Nintendo’s relationship and the love they game to this gaming Icon of the decade. I’m excited for the next know your moves about Hero and the idea he brings into the Smash stage as well as Banjo- Kazzoie’s representation in Smash.
Side Note: WHY DIDN’T THEY ADD LIFE WILL CHANGE, ITS ONE OF THE GAME’S CORE SONGS if Joker gets in to Smash 6, here are the songs I wanna see:

As an SMT fan I can't really say he's wrong; while yes Persona started off as a mere spinoff just like Digital Devil Saga, Raidou Kuzunoha, Devil Survivor, Soul Hackers, Strange Journey, and many others, Persona has evolved into something much more its own. All of SMT's other spinoffs still feel distinctly like just another part of SMT, but Persona has grown a bit more of its own identity that makes it stand out, especially nowadays.

Sorry, I don’t have the actual citation, but I do know exactly when Sakurai said it. After Joker’s presentation, Sakurai took to Twitter and made a thread where he points out a bunch of details he included. In it he has a tweet that shows the Blue, Yellow, and Red skins and specifically says they reference P3, 4, and 5
However he left out that the Purple skin was a reference to the first game, which means the red is probably supposed to be a reference to both 5 and 2. He probably didn’t mention 1 or 2 since they’re not as popular

Other characters just feel weird, like most of Palutena’s moves. When you play Palutena, you just think to yourself: I just got killed by some weird light sigil. This is bullshit.

I appreciated the game because of how well it represented the aesthetics of Japan and its daily life. By chance, I finished the game the day before I visited Japan for the first time (and the day before Joker was available in Smash). The game helped me adjust and visualize what my guide books could only describe.

Persona 5 was the very first JRPG and turn based combat game that I actually loved. Everything there just was beautiful. The music makes you feel good inside. The character interactions can melt your heart. The characters are so relatable. The visuals are beautiful. The combat, the style, the boss fights. Joker himself because he's so fucking cool. It's my favorite game ever. Has a lot of replay value, and every single time you replay you can find something new. (Plus Makoto)
