I'll be honest.... I have a new born daughter and I sung this to her today when she was crying--and she calmed down. I'm not even passable playing guitar and I want to play this for her one day. I'm---seriously not seeing the worth in life right now outside of her and this gives me at least one goal to not be dead. As a black guy, my life isn't worth much and people don't treat me like much so... this is good to have along with a goal.

Love it! It was a bit of a challenge to learn Ellie’s version of take on me, but this one looks like it’ll be easier. Also, there is a song Joel is playing on the porch at the end of the game. I don’t know the name, but if you could make a tutorial on that I’d be grateful. In any case, thank you for this!

I just finished playing the game for the second time in a row, and am an emotional wreck! Whoever says video games aren't art, has never played this astonishing game. And the first thing I thought when Ellie says she wants to try to forgive Joel, was, "I really need to find a tutorial for this".
So imagine my absolute delight to find my favourite guitar teacher has done one!! Thank you thank you thank you!

@@releo269 i took it as she lost both her fingers so couldn’t play the guitar anymore, that emotional connection with the guitar was lost she was able to move on.
Thanks for the video. It really helped to play the intro properly. I do like the little things Joel did at the verse so I'll try that but as someone who's never had the chance to learn guitar lessons, having the simplified version gives me the chance to play it consistently. 💛

Man, this guy need alot more views. He has probably heard this a hundred diffrent times but he is most likely the best tutorial giver of guitar on the net, paid or otherwise. A great teacher who has taught so many diffrent guitarist so many diffrent songs. They should use ur vids to teach other guitar teachers how to teach. Keep on keeping on mate

Can you do through the valley from when ellie played it please
with a capo put it on the fourth fret and do an e minor strum the low e string the d string the b string the g string then the d string again do that six times (you start singing by the fourth time but I recommend learning how to play the whole thing before trying to sing it) then switch to an a minor strum the a string the d string the b string the g string and the d string again do that two times then switch back to an e minor and do the same thing you did first but only do it twice then switch to a B7 (first finger first fret on d string second finger second fret a string third finger second fret g string) and strum the a string the d string the b string the g string and the d string again and play that twice. Now you play an e minor (same finger pattern) play that twice then a minor (same finger pattern) play that twice then go back to e minor ( same finger pattern) but only play it once then switch to B7 (same finger pattern) and only play that once then play the e minor finger pattern again. now youre at the part where she sings "surely goodness and mercy will follow me" so the chord patter is the exact same it would be e minor strummed twice an a minor strummed twice back to e minor strummed twice then B7 strummed twice then e minor strummed twice then a minor strummed twice then e minor strummed once then B7 strummed once then e minor strummed once again. The strumming pattern I like to use is down pause down up mute up down. Without a cap the chords are barre chords G#m C#m and D#7 and the finger pattern is the exact same. Hope this wasn't as confusing as I probably made it sound!
