    Whoever takes the time to give an in depth explanation of how to install not only the Amp's power cable but almost all aspects of a car audio system upgrade, definitley gets a subscription from me. Thank you sir and to the cool camera lady. Helped me very much with alot of questions I had that only this video could answer!

      Ryan - thanks for your comment! it is much appreciated. I think the only thing I wish we had done differently was not rushed and went to autozone to purchase an "add a circuit" fuse lead. The are cheap and makes for a much cleaner *and easier install on the remote wire.

      JoeTechProjects thank you for this video. This helped me in my install. I ran a 5 channel using a LC7i with Fosgate Punch speakers all the way around. Then ended up installing a EQS because the stock stereo only has treble and bass. Now I'm installing a separate mono amp for a second sub (needed more bass). Had to go through the passenger side for a second run of 4 gauge. Deadened the trunk with Noico mats and put foam strips in between the plastic deck and glass to eliminate the rattle.

Really helped, I appreciate you taking the time to do this. A lot of "car audio" places in my area are sketchy, rude, and over charge because I won't by their MSRP products. Thanks for that quick response. What I'm trying to figure out is if my 2017 Hyundai Elantra which has a Harmon-Infinity system in it with an amp if that stock amp can be adjusted to make it louder. I already had my own amp installed for just another sub and 2 6x9 boxes, so the stock speakers aren't altered, but I want to get them louder. before I tear apart my car, I want to know if it's possible.

      You've done a great job with your wife's car. Personally, I'd never hook an amp to the stock headunit without using an output converter, but yours is still a valid solution.
      A tip for your next installation: When you connect the positive wire to the battery, if your car doesn't have any battery temperature sensor in the positive terminal, you can replace the stock terminal with one from aftermarket car audio brands such as Kicker, specially made to connect up to three wires of different gauges. Also, leave at least 8 inches of wire from the fuse box to the terminal, so you can fix it in a solid surface using screws.
      Suscribed!

Thank you for putting out so much hard work into filming your setup. I know its hard enough installing the system without a camera in the way. • @DairyAir

    Skip the marker, use the punch to start. Use some washers or nuts to create an air gap above the amp so you don't cook it. Also doesn't hurt to get a $5 12v computer fan. Not a lot of air flow in the trunk. To make the best ground connection, sand the paint, then use electric terminal grease like on a battery terminal. Looks neat and clean, maybe angle the sub so it isn't rattling your amp connections. Biggest suggestion, have her do all the stripping, hehe

      I like your point about "all you hear is bass". It's easy to get caught up in the "next bass thing" (a little play on words there b/c I am a corny guy)... But when you do this - you miss out on so much of the music experience. The bass should complement the rest of the system... it will, in fact, enhance the total experience. Too much and you will loose the full range of the music. Just my 3 cents there...

    • @TheLukey21
      @TheLukey21 Před 10 lety +1

      I love bass and yes it makes a massive difference to songs for example the difference betwee... Your comment does remind me of a good tip for everyone.... Even with a humble amount of bass (as you will get with this instal) - some license plates tend to rattle a lot. A great trick I found to remedy this is to put a few strips of weather stripping behind the license plate. It works perfectly and best of all - super cheap!

    Do all the speakers have this pop out feature? I never understood why cars etc don't have that option. Back in the day it was simply cut a hole in the door panel and put the cover over the speaker. Made it much easier the next time you replaced the speakers

  • @Ottonic6
    @Ottonic6 Před 6 lety

    I believe those rear speaker screws have a hex head, you could have used the ratchet with the appropriate socket (8mm on mine) . I have an 8mm ratcheting flex wrench that worked even better. I have a coupe and the clearance for those back screws are even shallower than on the sedans. Just a thought... Great video. Very detailed. Thanks!

  • @Chilango16510
    @Chilango16510 Před 3 lety

    Just a tip on removing the door panels. The best place to start is the corner where the speaker is. You don’t even need tool, your fibers should be able to unsnap that area and from there the rest of the panel unsnap fairly easy

    • @Chilango16510
      @Chilango16510 Před 3 lety

      Another tip. When removing the factory speaker, try not to tear the adhesive foam behind the speaker and remove it carefully, you can place that adhesive foam on the new speaker kit and that will give you some foam Cushing so that your speaker is not touching plastic to metal.

    I was just wondering if the new door speakers will get enough power from the head unit? I am also considering to do a audio upgrade to my car, the sound is not bad but i am lacking some volume. And great video!

    • @JoeTechProjects
      @JoeTechProjects  Před 10 lety

      Ralf, thanks for the compliment! So... adding new door speakers to the stock head unit is a bit of a controversial topic for a lot of installers. In my experience - it is always a good idea to change the stock speakers out even if you do not change the factory stereo... IF...you are adding a sub woofer (with amp) to the setup. If you are not adding a sub woofer - you may want to wait on the door speaker upgrade. Factory speakers generally are simple paper cone speakers but often have a little more bass than aftermarket speakers... especially the 3 way and 4 way speakers. Those aftermarket speakers are designed to play music with much more accuracy, range, and clarity but they sometimes sacrifice head space with tweeters, thus reducing bass production. So the answer is not quite straight forward but if you are adding a sub woofer - then yes - add some aftermarket door speakers. Even on the factory stereo (with lower wattage) the range and clarity of the music will be better. You will notice it once the bass from the sub is added in because they compliment each other. hope this helps. =)

    On the frame of each speaker, if you look at the spot where the two feet slide in 27:52 you can take a pair of pliers. Gently bend the round part down, and a speaker can easily fit in the mouth.
    You need to remove the clip at the top, not difficult with the same pair of pliers. Than splice into the factory harness (cutting Honda's connector off) and using the provided cables with the speakers.
    You can even use self taping screws to secure the speakers. It's kinda a tight fit in the rear but can be done, saves about $50 on the mounting brackets, and harness connectors. You need the tools to do it, but if you own them its not hard at all.

      ***** hello again! The installation is done. While the sub is on rear seat everything is ok the sound is nice and punchy, i'm using a shallow sub from Pioneer. And when i place it in the trunk i get a rattle in rear deck, even on very low volume. Did you experience the same problem? If yes how did you fight it? Thanks

    • @JoeTechProjects
      @JoeTechProjects  Před 10 lety

      Ah. Yes we did. If you have an Accord - this is common. There are two possible culprits.. The rear dash brake light rattles (you will need to pack some foam in there... and there are a couple firewall bolts that could rattle while driving (more of a squeak). Lastly - some weather stripping behind your license plate is always a good idea too. There were a couple service bullitins out on this...
