I have been owning the tiago for the 6th yr running now and never have I ever felt that the engine is unreliable. Sure it does sound a little boomy and coarse but above 1700rpm its hard for other cars to catch up, the handling is excellent, steering is very precise, suspension is awesome, and near 60 degrees inclines with full load is no problem so yes it the most value for money car in that price.
One thing I've noticed over the years, we only feel concerned about fuel efficiency only when filling petrol , but we will feel concerned about lack of power all th time we're driving the car. 😁
i think engine in tiago is not bad its just the tiago is a heavier car than celerio and that makes alot of the difference in performance
Tata Tiago is the best car in its class across most evaluation parameters. It is a genuine effort by Tata and it shows, unlike some half-cooked products from other manufacturers.Tata can offer an engine upgrade to make it even more appealing, but the current 1.2 does the job adequately well. The top-spec XZ plus is the one to go for. Have been a Tiago owner for the last 3 years. It is a pleasure to own this car. Very satisfied with the ownership experience and the overall vehicle.
I think as a car reviewer it is your responsibility to highlight the safety ratings of both the car. For people like me who knows how much horrible car accidents happen we keep the safety as our top priority and you people should also urge other people on that!🙌🏻
Rest great review! ✌🏻
Tiago is class above and there is no doubt in it. 2lack kilometres completed last month and it is still feels like brand new. Make sure you service your car time to time and treat it like your baby.
Tiago's steering is very accurate. Almost feels like Ford Figo.
Tiago is almost better in every way than that tin can, though I accept that Maruti is better in after sales and reliability.
I bet you have never even owned a car before 😂😂
We need safety guy's no matter whatever fuel efficiency matters' Durability needed. Always Tata Tiago 🥰
Sir Tata Tiago is the Safest Car , Trust me got hit by Mahindra Verito from behind and Still it had minimal Damage and Car Occpants were safe
I am the one who rejected celerio over the Tiago 6 years before. For its flimsy interior and look.
Now one thing I have to check which came out of this story is that celerio's ride quality is better than Tiago.
Need more videos from these new duos, they've better energy in their duo reviews with more informal appeal than general formal & bland yet trustworthy format of Autocar India reviews...
I got 25 kmpl in a drive of 120km once ...constantly i get 19 to 20 in tiago. Its all about how u drive and tiago is rock solid at high speed with better safety ..go for tiago guys u will not regret
Fixed Headrests for driver seats in Celerio. Ride quality wise Tiago feels better. Engine smoothness is better in Celerio and well contained vibrations for a 3cylinder engine. But enthusiasts Tiago.
If Tata could improve their engines (and reliability) they would be head and shoulder above the competition.
Hearing it for past 20 years 😂😂
There are many car owners with ownership experience of more than 50k-100k km of tiago, does it not gives new viewpoint towards reliability and engine performance according to this price and segment.
I am using celerio from 2 years - Awesome car with good fuel efficiency
Great video. Keep rocking guys. Especially glad to know you gave most weightage to SAFETY. Kudos 👍👍👍
I will pick Tiago all day everyday....this is much better put together..Celerio is simply feels basic and unexciting....and where every maruti fanboys only care about good engine, fuel efficiency....what is most important is safety....which they will never care about it, which is absurd....and I don't care what they say about the engine, it is good enough for everyday driving.
As on today Maruti has most refined engines
Thiago the older model but still looks better
If you need it cheap, Celerio.
If you need to stay alive for longer, Tiago.
10 years back in all Tata car reviews : Tata has niggling issues and rough edges...
NOW : All praise to tata though it has underwhelming engines..
So what....who cares that, especially those who buy a Tata car....
Can you do a video on what are the cars of guys who are all in AUTOCAR uses?
Please try comparing the mid variants of the cars!!
Tiago on highway gives 20kmpl with ease
Tata Tiago is a no brainer choice. It is miles ahead in terms of looks, design, ride quality, handling, features, suspension setup, drivetrain options, affordability. One can also consider Punch. You simply can close your eyes and buy it. No need to research for any competition car.
A shame that Polo is no longer sold here.
Celerio looks mediocre, worse than the A Star and it possibly would be equivalent of zero star NCAP rating. Buying it would be penny wise pound foolish in unsafe Indian roads
Jay's favourite word : absolutely!
by far the best assessment of Tata tiago
I will prefer purchasing Tata Tiago over Maruti Celerio.
Tata tiago any day.
Better to be safe then sorry.
I have a tiago.. Have nice and good amount of space on rear and front on the 2022 model XT
Please do comparison b/w Citroen C3 vs Tata Punch vs Altroz vs others in that segment 🙏🙏🙏
Very nice comparison.
Waiting for altroz vs i20 Diseal comparison
The earlier celerio I owned and is a brilliant car
Please do more comparison videos, please!!
Drive Baleno and the altroz, you will feel the difference between maruti and Tata-safety, engine, reliability... everything.
My tigor 2018 petrol model gives me avg of 25 when going from pune to Mumbai...tata only needs to improve engine refinement and more punch as beyond 100kmph its a struggle to overtake
*Tata Tiago-- a cut above the rest- the finest Hatchback in India- it's a brilliant car*
Celerio with a good refined engine than Tiago.Every car enthusiasts knew this fact.
Engine in Tiago is very poor
21 kmpl from a 1.0L engine on a 820 Kg car? My 5G Honda City CVT gives me 21 on highway without breaking a sweat. On days with good tail winds, I can squeeze 23. Phew!!!
My Honda city Petrol MT 2017 gives me 17kmpl on highway at 90km/h and AC on and in city it gives max of 9kmpl. How's it possible to get 21 kmpl is beyond me.
Both of your decision to pick Tiago as a winner is great....
"Tiago XT vs i10 Nios Magna"
I'm very much confused between these two. Please, make a comparison video.
Great comparo by both of you... Hope to see more such videos from autocar :)
What about the i10 nios???
Can you please suggest the tyre and rim upgrades for celerio vxi. Currently running on 165/70R14
Planning to buy hatchback for 60% city driving and 40% highway driving.Tata tiago xz+,Maruti ignis alfa and hyundai grand nios sportz DT.pl suggest. Thanks in advance
Maybe all that Tata needs to do now is to change their employees at most of its service centres, because rude service centre employee behaviour and poor servicing quality are some of the major complaints against Mahindra and Tata right now. The Tiago's 16.6 kmpl highway mileage figure is scarily low, though. I was hoping to see a figure around 18-19 kmpl. Mahindra should seriously bring the KUV100 back as well.
Come to Brazil 🇧🇷 Tiago. We are waiting for you!!!
Except for mileage, Tiago is better in all other areas that are important like safety, looks and handling. Slight lag in acceleration is negligible and not that important for buyers in this segment.
Tiago 😍
If we talk about the design of both the cars
On one hand, Tiago looks like it was designed by a qualified design engineer
On the other hand, Celerio looks like a tinka-toy designed by a nursery kid 🙏😂
Is that the NMIA area?
*Love to see these long videos even on budget cars.. but plz go 4K @Autocar India*
I think ignis is a better competition with Tiago nt celerio
Weight of celerio - 800 to 900 kg
Weight of Tiago - 950 to 1015kg
That's the reason for drop in performance and mileage, still I don't think it lacks much.
Pls make a video of breeza 2022 VS tata nexon
I own Tiago and I get more than 18 kmpl in the city and 22+ in the highways.
*Does Celerio makes any sense in this segment having competition from maruti itself!*
You people have such a fun job.
I bet that your office has air conditioning.
At what rpms the maruTIN cruises @100 kmph in top gear?
I would compromise on efficiency instead of daily experience of sitting in a matchstick box (celerio)
I wish Tata cars had Suzuki's 1.2 liters, 4 cylinders and gearbox it would have made the best hatchbacks
To this reader go for ignis. It's better than both these cars
to be honest, tiago is best for day to day highway users, celrio is best for day to day city users only and you should be comparing tiago and ignis, celerio does not qualifies to be compared here.
Ignis is much superior. That 4 cyl petrol engine is in a league of its own.
BS4 Tiago had an ARAI mileage of 23.8 kmpl. BS6 norms saw it reduce to 19.8 kmpl. BS4 Tiago owners will definitely get more mileage from their cars under similar driving conditions.
Absolutely!
Tnx
Piece of mind and value for money is celerio no doubt
Be it performance or average
Nice video Tata is doing good job
Can you compare tiago with nios
With 20 % less weight it’s obvious you will get better efficiency
Sir campare between Tiago vs ignis
Among the hatchbacks in India (Alto, spresso, Celerio, wagon R, swift, Baleno, Tiago, Altroz, grand i10 and i20)... 100% I assure you i20 is the best.....
It's features, drivability, stability, performance, decent mileage, space, engine (1.2 lit, 4 cylinder), is ahead among the hatchbacks.
Tiago vs i10 nios comparo please.
First things first. What a fabulous comparison! A much needed one, especially for the first time buyers.
Jay is growing on me. So, Hey Jay! Great reviews coming from your stable. Saumil sounded like a senior in the business when he asked Jay to find out the Power Windows button for the Driver's side on the Celerio. It was like "Tu bas dhoondh k bata." Saumil being Saumil. No fuss, no gimmicks. Just to the point.
Now, coming back to the cars. I am a Tiago owner for over a year now. I remember the tough fight between me & my father over buying our first car as an MSIL or a TATA. I being a fan of TAMO's ruggedness & throw me anywhere nature bought the Tiago. Never, not at a single instance it has betrayed me. Yes, fit & finish is still a concern accompanied with After Sales. Also, vibrations are there when idle. However, it smoothens when you pick up the pace & put all the 86 Horses running. When it comes to driving dynamics, assurance behind the wheels, safety & of course ruggedness, it is a charm. The rear seat misses on the Headrest & 60:40 split. However, it is comfortable. Especially for my fur babies for whom the car was bought in the first place.
I live in Nasik & considering the changing & increasing traffic in the city I am able to churn out a beautiful 17-20 kmpl within city limits. When it comes to highway fuel efficiency 24.5kmpl is the highest I have achieved juggling between 22-25kmpl & that too on a Nasik-Mumbai-Nasik stretch.
After Sales is still a big concern & TAMO should fasten their seatbelts for improving that. I believe all mass market producers lack hitting the benchmark when it comes to after sales. Exceptional Dealerships are always there.
So, to conclude this experience or rather a huge article of mine I would just say that I am in love with my Tiago & when the validation comes from the experts in Automobile business, I feel much assured & proud of my decision. I have & will always recommend a Tiago as a perfect hatch to anyone seeking a first car or a small car. Well, "Papa k saath share karna padega comparison."
Thanks a gazillion Autocar India for this one.🤗🤗🤗
Tiago is crash tested and 800kg Celerio is not! you want to save money over safety- go for Celerio- fuel efficiency will be much better. in most other areas Tiago does better.
Tin can vs hulk
Which one is good
Tiago is love ❤
Tata could've purchased petrol engines from Ford.
My dad's tiago easily returns 17-18kmpl on highways in spirited driving.. On light foot I have also seen it return 23kmpl on the MID screen..
Mid is not accurate...
Compare Tiago NRG BS6 PHASE 2 & IGNIS BS6PHASE2 .
When I saw the power window switches in the centre then I decided Tiago is the winner.
Celerio 1L has way better refignment and smoothness and sleek shift gearbox than tata 1.2
The only reason to buy
Higher death rate aswell
@@kingboss6113 Beyond 64 kmphr no car is safe 😂😂
Tiago now comes with Cruise control...much awaited, now delivered.
Why is Rohit Sharma dubbing for Jay Patil 😬😬😜😜
I have Tata tiago. Best car to drive on high speeds. But when it comes to mileage its a big disappointment.
Nah, I like the celerio better. Thank you !!!
Safety comes first mileage and engine comes after it... Better to spend more on car maintenance than spending on hospital bills...
Lord Tiago Anyday
I can't equate safety of my family with mileage, resale value and budget.
If you love yourself and your family
Consider NCAP RATINGS
TATA IS BEST
I think you shoul have compared it with swift
Tiago anyday for me
Tiago is a 4 star NCAP rated car. Jaan hai to Jahan hai. Zinda rahenge to average ya pickup Kaam aayega
Celerio doesn't stand near anywhere to TATA TIAGO as far as SAFETY concerns.
Tiago doesn't stand anywhere near Suzuki Celerio as far as Engine and Reliability is concern.
Ya and Tata don't stand near by Celerio interms of Engine and value for money 😂
Need celerio with 1.2 litre engine.
