I have been owning the tiago for the 6th yr running now and never have I ever felt that the engine is unreliable. Sure it does sound a little boomy and coarse but above 1700rpm its hard for other cars to catch up, the handling is excellent, steering is very precise, suspension is awesome, and near 60 degrees inclines with full load is no problem so yes it the most value for money car in that price.

Tata Tiago is the best car in its class across most evaluation parameters. It is a genuine effort by Tata and it shows, unlike some half-cooked products from other manufacturers.Tata can offer an engine upgrade to make it even more appealing, but the current 1.2 does the job adequately well. The top-spec XZ plus is the one to go for. Have been a Tiago owner for the last 3 years. It is a pleasure to own this car. Very satisfied with the ownership experience and the overall vehicle.

Maybe all that Tata needs to do now is to change their employees at most of its service centres, because rude service centre employee behaviour and poor servicing quality are some of the major complaints against Mahindra and Tata right now. The Tiago's 16.6 kmpl highway mileage figure is scarily low, though. I was hoping to see a figure around 18-19 kmpl. Mahindra should seriously bring the KUV100 back as well.

First things first. What a fabulous comparison! A much needed one, especially for the first time buyers.
Jay is growing on me. So, Hey Jay! Great reviews coming from your stable. Saumil sounded like a senior in the business when he asked Jay to find out the Power Windows button for the Driver's side on the Celerio. It was like "Tu bas dhoondh k bata." Saumil being Saumil. No fuss, no gimmicks. Just to the point.
Now, coming back to the cars. I am a Tiago owner for over a year now. I remember the tough fight between me & my father over buying our first car as an MSIL or a TATA. I being a fan of TAMO's ruggedness & throw me anywhere nature bought the Tiago. Never, not at a single instance it has betrayed me. Yes, fit & finish is still a concern accompanied with After Sales. Also, vibrations are there when idle. However, it smoothens when you pick up the pace & put all the 86 Horses running. When it comes to driving dynamics, assurance behind the wheels, safety & of course ruggedness, it is a charm. The rear seat misses on the Headrest & 60:40 split. However, it is comfortable. Especially for my fur babies for whom the car was bought in the first place.
I live in Nasik & considering the changing & increasing traffic in the city I am able to churn out a beautiful 17-20 kmpl within city limits. When it comes to highway fuel efficiency 24.5kmpl is the highest I have achieved juggling between 22-25kmpl & that too on a Nasik-Mumbai-Nasik stretch.
After Sales is still a big concern & TAMO should fasten their seatbelts for improving that. I believe all mass market producers lack hitting the benchmark when it comes to after sales. Exceptional Dealerships are always there.
So, to conclude this experience or rather a huge article of mine I would just say that I am in love with my Tiago & when the validation comes from the experts in Automobile business, I feel much assured & proud of my decision. I have & will always recommend a Tiago as a perfect hatch to anyone seeking a first car or a small car. Well, "Papa k saath share karna padega comparison."
Thanks a gazillion Autocar India for this one.🤗🤗🤗
