slavery has existed way before "Arabs" were a thing. But in pre-modern times I think you mean Arabs and Europeans have done most of the buying and trading. We know recent things in history best, but far back in ancient history all kinds of peoples practiced slavery.

@@ianofliverpool7701 Lebanon is 40% Christian for fuck sake, plenty of other Middle Eastern countries have significant religious minority groups which have co existed for over a thousand years. You can just look at the native populations which to a great extent experienced genocide during colonisation from "Christians" and decide how much of both a false and hypocritical statement you want to make.
The extremists that are running around today are a more modern phenomenon so I don't know what you mean by "some time". Unfortunately it appears to be largely bankrolled and supported by those "fighting the war on terror" who do so by supporting terrorists. It's a real 4d chess move. Lets destabilise a bunch of nations by taking out their leaders then flood country with weaponry and see what happens. Oh lets also ally ourselves with some of the greatest religious fundamentalists and in fact supporters of extremism as well. The leaders they were overthrowing were some of the most secular, just read up on the Ba'athist movement which was strong in Iraq and Syria. The only thing that makes sense (other than the assumption that there is a gross level of ineptitude) is that the goal is exactly to destabilise the region. That is achieved by overthrowing governments and arming terrorists. Just do a google search on Timber Sycamore and come to your own conclusions.

These immigrants share the blame for taking such an informed decision to take the road through Libya and also for not protesting when they are being sold ... better to die with dignity than being sold. Of course the biggest blame goes to their countries' governments who failed to provide opportunities for a better life ... the least they could do was to inform their citizens of the dangers of illegal immigration through Libya.... they failed to govern their countries. As to the Libyans who dared to go as far as auctioning human beings, it just shows how uncivilized/barbaric they are ... your level of morality is like form thousands of years ago:) Backward Backward, Backward !

And it's the Black people who went into Libya, not the other way around.
But of course, you won't point that important fact out because it doesn't fit your victimhood narrative.
These Blacks deliberately travelled into Libya in hope of crossing into Europe for free European Welfare, but the Arabs in Libya make slaves of them instead.

I understand the people feeling the need to escape but the majority of Afrikans stay put and build on what they have. It's victim mentality that pushes people to believe that things are "better" in the West. Some things like healthcare to an extent are. However, people in Afrika seem to be prepared to die to reach the West, but not to fight corrupt leadership and make a way in a land that has so much resource which is your birthright.
