Mental health awareness is extremely important. There are real stigmas surrounding mental health. It can be challenging for people that need support to reach out to loved ones because of this stigma. Imagine feeling as if you are drowning but you are afraid to ask for a life jacket or assistance for fear that you may be criticized for not knowing how to swim. Insane, right?!
Here you will be introduced to a woman, mother, business owner, partner that lives with a personality disorder and has to manage it on a day-to-day basis. I was diagnosed with BPD in 2011, and have spent the last 5 years really coming to terms with the diagnosis and managing the symptoms that come with it. As a mother, it is essential that I give my children the best possible upbringing but of course I am not perfect. They push me to face my mental health concerns and break the generational curse of allowing the trauma to interfere with the relationship with my children.
I fully believe that it is important for trauma survivors to learn how to do more than live in a perpetual state of "survival mode". It is important for trauma survivors to learn to minimize the effect that triggers have on a survivor's day-to-day life and learn healthy coping mechanisms so that they can enjoy the beauty of thriving!

    Meet Sparkle Ra'on
I am a dedicated mother of five. I have survived multiple types of traumas which include physical as well as sexual abuse. In 2011, I was diagnosed with BPD, PTSD, depression, and anxiety. I have spent the last five years working intently on self-awareness and healing. I want to bring awareness to the importance of mental health and the realness of the inconvenience of unhealed traumas in our everyday lives.
I believe that it is important for trauma survivors to learn how to do more than live in a perpetual state of "survival mode". It is important for trauma survivors to learn to minimize the effect that triggers have on a survivor's day-to-day life and learn healthy coping mechanisms so that they can enjoy the beauty of thriving!

I don't want anyone to feel as if they are alone with their traumas. Trauma can make you feel as if you don't deserve a healthy life and that couldn't be the furthest from the truth!
Be blessed and take care of yourself first and foremost to be a healthier, happier you!
