This shit hits deep 😢 the lyrics articulate so deeply yet simply the pain of watching your loved one struggle while the music video visualizes how isolating depression can make you feel but how that looks differently for each individual. Even in cases where you are surrounded by people, you still feel alone, internalizing your thoughts and emotions. You can see the weight of their emotions in their eyes. The ending dance scene where Omar is dancing and no one around him even notices him was specifically eerie to me (how I interpret him trying to lift those around him with the joy of dance with no impact). That scene in particular just hits different the more times you watch the video and notice how disassociated those people around him are, showing how common it is to unintentionally live in our own siloed and blinding pain and go through life without allowing those around us to “carry” any of it for us, even when they make themselves present. 🥺
