I appreciate you giving wrath this kind of analysis. I always believed it was such an overlooked record. Set to Fail is still one of my favorite tracks. Not to mention one of the first concerts i ever attended was LoG when they toured on this album and Mark played an extended solo/intro going into Grace. I was front row getting my 16 yo mind absolutely blown 🤯
Reclamation is probably one of the hugest sounding songs they've ever written.
Totally agree, one of the biggest underrated tracks from LoG - would be great for them to play it live! Not sure if they might have in years past
This is definitely the LOG album I always return to, I think this album is 100% perfection
Oh wow! Perfection, that's a big statement. What is it that you love so much about this record then? I do really, really love it though and now 15 years later appreciate it more for other reasons too!
I listened to it yesterday. Still smashes. I actually like it more now than I did at the time.
BASED
same here I think that time has been very kind to the record and it just gets better and better with age. I might have to give Resolution another go too! Really enjoyed that album when it came out.
@@TheMetalTris Same mate. I've been going through the entire catalogue in order, I felt let down by Resolution at the time as I thought it really weak compared to the last 3 LPs. Will give it a spin!
Personally, this is my favorite LoG album. It’s an incredible victory lap after gaining so much commercial success. The songwriting and chemistry are fantastic, and the production is beautifully complimentary.
Great video!
It’s not one of my favorites personally, but it’s still a great old time and a great album. I’m more of an As The Palaces Burn kinda guy myself. Ashes of The Wake is a close second.
Contractor is so dang fun from that album and one of my favorite LoG tracks.
Thanks so much for the kind words my friend. Means the world and glad you enjoyed taking the trip down memory lane as well. It’s a great record and something that really stands out in their discography. I have to say I thought Omens was definitely a return to form as well. That was a great record.
Great look back. I’ve been listening to it this since you mentioned you’d be covering it. A very strong album.
Couldn’t agree more mate! One of my favourites from Lamb of God this one
I’m from Richmond VA, their hometown. I worked for a delivery company and met numerous band members, even delivering papers from the Czech Republic to Randys house in his “manslaughter” case. Big fan of these guys
Wow! That’s pretty cool! I’ve never had the pleasure of meeting the band but have always wanted to. One of my favourites from being a teenager and definitely one that has stayed with me since then. I bet that they were all lovely people right? And delivering those papers must have been interesting too. Thanks for checking out the video my friend.
Yeah they’re all cool guys. And I do like Wrath a lot, but hands down my favorite is As The Palaces Burn. Not only an incredible album in general, but it’s the album that got me into metal music, so it holds a special place in my heart
Definitely one of LOG's finest. Set To Fail, Choke Sermon, In Your Words - heavy rotation on running playlists. Even now the album still sounds current. True story, I left this CD in the car when I took it in for a service back in 2009. The mechanic spoke to me afterwards as it had started playing when he started the engine - he discovered LOG that day working on my car and wanted to know which other albums of theirs were good. I still wonder if he's still a fan! Cheers buddy.
Ahh that's wicked. I can imagine that those are great songs to pump you up for a run. That's so awesome!! See even by accident you're getting others into Metal haha
I love stories like that especially when it's just something completely organic you know? I reckon that he would still be spinning that Lamb of God hahaha
The intro to Broken Hands is one of the most engaging ones out there. Love the album. Interesting throwback - thanks for that gem of a video :)
No worries at all Robert! Thanks so much for checking the video out and honouring this killer record. It’s definitely got better with age as far as I’m concerned! What a great band.
loved this record at the time and 15 years later i still do, their best record imo
I think it’s an interesting one to listen to especially when you compare it to the previous release and the ones that came afterwards. Really it does kind of stand on its own though I have to say that I think Palaces might be my favourite release of the band maybe Ashes in the same league.
humm... wait... nononononhnonoononono fuck. . I love how you take the time to forward thought the songs!
I went through Lamb of God’s discography last year and wrath was a fun one. Love how more thrash inspired that album is. Contractor’s probably my favorite song off that album and one of my favorite LoG tracks too. Not my favorite record from them since I love As The Palaces Burn and Ashes of The Wake, but Wrath is dang good time.
Btw if you want some killer groove in a similar vein to Lamb of God I’d recommend Lokust’s Infidel from last year. It’s not a LoG clone, but there’s little similarities I find.
Oh yeah man I’m right there with you on the Ashes / Palaces and them being the best records. I love how raw Palaces is where the production is concerned but the songwriting of Ashes is just the best.
Haha funny that you say about Lokust. I have known both Jeremy and Alexy for I would say about seven years now I think. We did do an interview a while back but not sure when they might publish that. Great shout though, I even remember jamming with Alexy on a couple of LoG songs on guitar way back when. It’s a small world eh! Thanks for checking out the video my friend
@@TheMetalTris oh yo that’s freaking awesome that you know those guys. I guess it is a very small world lol.
Not my fav album by Lamb of God but it does have its good moments. Another album that I need to give an enough listens to. I think I just wasn’t into to LoG as much at that time. Cheers buddy
Hey man! That’s a totally fair point, I think for me this one has gotten better with age which I think is interesting. After Sacrament I was a little bit wanting the same thing but I’m glad that we got Wrath. It’s a different album that shows just why they’re such a great band.
I still think it's a good album!
Yeah it is. Think it’s great.
Couldn’t agree more. It’s a really interesting release isn’t it? Definitely a bit of ahead of its time I think but also very contemporary. Thanks for checking out the video!
still solid but my favorite is always, Ashes Of The Wake.
Yeah man I get that! For me it’s kind of a combo of Palaces / Ashes and Sacrament I think but I love how unique Wrath is as an album
