The Gap Band was fantastic! Very few bands had groove like these guys. Hard to beat. The Commodores had several songs with Great groove too. Brick House is killer.

Oh momma must be my age, remember this when it came out, I was a senior in high school!!! Not a bad band from Oklahoma, they wrote their own song and really played the instruments. Super talented.

Yâall are reppin my hometown of Tulsa Oklahoma now! The Gap band are from Tulsa. GAP stands for Greenwood Archer and Pine. That was the home of Black Wallstreet in Tulsa. Now itâs a museum for music and arts in the black community.

From Tulsa! Named after Greenwood, Archer, and Pine in Tulsa's Greenwood neighborhood. Love these guys. Early in the Morning and Dropped a Bomb On Me are two other 80s crossover hits of theirs. Didn't know it back in the day, but this is what the cool kids were listening to. The rest of us squares were listening to rock.
