    I did that last fall with my currants (black, red, white and pink) . I think I had about 100% success rate. They are so easy to propagate, that I guerilla-planted them all around the village, as I'm running out of space in my garden. And I'm unable to chuck it in the compost (and there they will root anyway, too...)

    Thanks to take teaching I now know what autumn olive is and wow it is growing everywhere. Love it. I think I am going to give currents a try next

    Any experience regarding how well and fast a cutting from fresh wood will establish compared to a similar size of cutting from old wood?
    Since black currants fruit on fresh wood it would be ideal to take cuttings from old wood, disregarding the wind issues. While with red currants it would be ideal to take cuttings from fresh wood since they fruit on old wood
