Hi Dan, this is a tip/ suggestion that has been going on in this hobby of fish keeping for quite some time when there is frequent aggression between the fish, but I am not sure whether it work for you with all the live plants, but here it goes... try rearranging the rocks and any move any plants that are easy to re-root in 29 gallon, also I read somewhere aggression between the fish reduces if you quarantine the aggressive fish for a few hours in container covered by a dark cloth so that no light penetrates. This will give the fish to calm down a bit, later when the fish is added back with the decoration in the aquarium rearranged the aggression will subside and get along. Hope this helps you in any way. :)
I thought angel fish were passive but your right they can be aggressive. That most blow yours. Good luck I'll be watching to see, well i alway watch good video's.
Hi its me again. I love your tanks and your videos. Also I would really love if u do like and review/go over all of your fish tanks and explain the tanks (how many gallons, which fish you have in the tank, etc). I would love that thank you
the germain blue is a bit more agressive then i first tought... but I still belive that he could go well in the 29 gallon :). I trully hope that will work out! if not, what will you try?
It's real simple to reduce aggression, lower the temps to low 70's. Again in this day and age of endless info simple tried and true aspects are overlooked or poo pooed as detrimental! Frick man haven't folks ever heard of lowering temps to lower aggression? I know a guy that has 8 large angelfish in a 75 gal and they are mellow and not aggressive to each other or their tank mates, his tank temps are 68/70 in the fall and winter and no higher than 74 the rest of the year. If you don't believe me then say so because I can post a video of a well known fishstore owner that has 220g tank with peruvian tall fins angelfish and the temps in that tank are 68degrees!! My two angels in my 29tall are mellow as well and I keep the temps at 72/74.
I have a question you might be able to answer. I have an angelfish pair in my tank, that has successfully bred and raised fry many of times. They used to lay eggs every other week, but in the past few months, there's been no breeding behavior. Is this common? I kind of think it has to do with being winter.
hi i got a baby black ghost knife fish. And i dont know what to feed him and also at what time since they hunt at night another thing do i put hiding places in the tank ?
Yes, it needs places to hide. Mine eats shrimp pellets and broken pieces of algae wafer. If you put bloodworms in the bottom before turning the lights off, it'll gobble them up. (it needs a fairly meaty diet)
No matter what, preserve that German Blue; it's much too perfect to sacrifice.
wyzemann I totally agree!!

Most of my tanks are about 72 to 74.
you should have moved the mated pair into the 29g and all the other angels in the big tank!
carla brooks I agree..
to bad you don't have an other larger tank ( ie 90g or 125g) to put all angles in at same time.

I'm not sure. Maybe it's got to do with their age?
Dan Hiteshew They're a year and a half old.
***** well, it's not that then. I really don't know what to tell you. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
Dan Hiteshew No worries at all! I'll just wait it out and see what happens.

can i feed it flakes ? also what fish are compatible with a small one
Epic X Gaming you can try. No aggressive fish. Most community fish are fine.
so basically it eats dead food ?
Epic X Gaming if you mean "prepared" food, yes, mine does.
