How to Play - French Timpani Grip

The french timpani grip is another popular style used by many drummers, but this one is more commonly a bit situational. As you see in the video, it lends itself to a nice playing position when you're up on the ride, and is easy to switch to and from the german timpani style when moving from hats to ride and vice versa. Using this as your main style for all playing is a bit less common, but as long as it suits you, that's all that matters!
