- Picking up from the Pines Camp Ground in Ngarkat National Park we are today heading south on the notorious one way section of the border track with our first stop being the Hensley Trig.
Some soft sand and hot desert sun makes for a tough but enjoyable day.
It's not up yet but keep an eye out on Dan's Channel for his trip video of this trip.

Another great instalment in the series. Really enjoying the trip. Keep up the inspirational work.
Thanks Craig, appreciate the feedback! Glad you're enjoying it, we certainly did!
Nice Jase, become a lot more challenging. I’d prefer the rocking over corrugations any day.
Look forward to the next episode. 👍🏼
Thx mate, was a great trip. True though re the corrugations.
Great work Jase, awesome series, love the variety of trucks on the trip. looking forward to getting back up to vic deserts 👍
Thanks was a great trip and yeah we've a good bunch with a wide variety of vehicles which makes it interesting. Glad you're enjoying this series.
Thanks Jason, Great crew.
Thx mate, definitely. This was an epic trip! I'd go back to red bluff just to get another one of those snags (oops, spoiler alert for next video!!) 🙂
@@OffTheBeatenPathAus You wait for what's on the menu in April!
@@OTWD looking forward to it mate!
Did you swap ratios to 4.3s when you installed lockers Luca? Nice bus by the way 💪
@@James_James01 thanks mate, no original ratio , perhaps one day if I go bigger tyres currently Running 285 /75-16 and I’m Very happy with it. And always select the automatic to manual shift ( I select the gear for the terrain I’m on) (RE5auto)🙏
Do you need to modify the 76 series to take on these tracks? Is stock enough to manage mid range off roading. Thanks
No at this point the 76 was pretty stock. Road terrain tyres, no lift and no lockers. They're pretty capable stock and well the newer ones if GXL come with lockers.
Do you have any paint protection on the 76 or is it running commando?
No paint protection currently. Something I'm thinking about though for sure!
Looks like a good trip. What tyre pressures were you running?
Hey mate, everyone was a little different, for me on the 76 I was running 20 PSI in the front and rear. Others I think were perhaps lower, but around that, maybe 18 PSI.
Hope you don't mind me weighing in - I was 20 front and back. I think most vehicles would be OK with 16-24psi depending on preferences.
@@OTWD thanks, I have run 15 cold on the Portland dunes and that seem good. Of course they do warm up a few psi.
@@OTWD of course not thx mate. Yeah seemed to be the sweet spot.
What was the out come of the Troppy that only had 2wd?
Still not resolved. 2WD only in low range. High range gets 4wd. believed to be issue with the transfer case.
@@OffTheBeatenPathAus atleast he had 4wd in hi range
@@darrengray2309 would have never made it up the dunes earlier in the trip without it!
