I have learned so much from these videos
And I have been living in Pittsburgh for 50 years
Amazing value
I will refer anyone and everyone to you Rylee
No one better to buy a home from than someone who knows every nuance of Pittsburgh and surrounding areas
Thank you so much!!!
I used to live in Leetsdale near Sewickley, loved it, especially Sewickley. I don't go to bars or clubs, pretty much a shopper, library and movies type person. I currently live in Atlanta and cannot wait to leave! I'm thinking of Clearwater Florida or coming back home to Pittsburgh. I do miss it there..
Sewickley is great!!! Pittsburgh is always home, no matter where you are! đ
Dave Fitzgeraldâs daughter Rose ? If so I donât blame you for wanting to get out of Atlanta.
Love my hometown.†Just wish I could change the weatherđ
I lived in the Hill and loved it. Great people and culture. The jazz legends that came from the Hill make Pittsburgh an internationally known arts center. The view of downtown from Crawford Street is absolutely the the best. If you walk a few steps over by the cliff where new housing is being constructed, you have another great view of the Strip District. I think you can add this to your list.
Ya , okâŠ.
Growing up in the 70âs my father drove yellow cab in Pittsburgh, there wasnât a place he didnât know about Pittsburgh and never needed directions. I moved away in 1976 to Maryland and wish I could move back.
Nice! I'm from NYC and relocated recently. So far so good!
Welcome to Pittsburgh!!! đ
@@livinginpittsburghpennsylvania Thank you!
Excellent CZcams. Only problem I have is that you can not limit it to 5 neighborhoods. I would say that the Strip is quite happening, south side flats, and eastern liberties at least. Highland park is really nice. And I could go on. Each area has such unique character that itâs more a match to what you need rather than one better than another.
Thanks! I agree⊠5 is too little! đ
I just watched all three of your videos that you have on CZcams. You are incredibly informative and I canât wait for you to make more videos so I can watch more! I plan on moving there in June and I am retired so Iâm looking for an affordable suburb where I can have a nice big backyard and a 3 to 4 bedroom home. What do you suggest?
Thanks for the kind comment! We have many great suburbs here that offer lots of land and many large homes. Westmoreland County is about 40 minutes to downtown and east of downtown. It offers many affordable suburbs with much land and lower taxes than Allegheny county. Some include North Huntingdon, Murrysville, Penn Township & Trafford Depending on how close you're looking to be from the city, and your budget. Our southern suburbs are going to be a bit more expensive but desirable, such as South Park, Baldwin, Bridgeville, Jefferson Hills & Elizabeth. Other great suburban areas include Mcmurray, Canonsburg, Plum & Mccandless. It does all depend on exactly what you're looking for...Shoot us an email at livinginpgh@gmail.com or text 412-296-0339 and we can help narrow it down!
Thinking about moving to Pittsburgh. This video is a great help!
Awesome! Glad it helped! đ€
@@williammooney8499Crime is everywhere. You canât really escape it unless you wanna give up the city life, & go more rural. Iâm from Houston, TX & Iâm looking at either Pittsburgh or Utah right now to relocate to.
Man, when they closed Eat N Park on Murray Avenue, I was heartbroken. The food was good, and it was a place you could just sit back and read a book in your booth in comfort without being bothered. I spend many years eating there since I was a teenager.
Met my late wife of 32 years in a stay at the Bigalow downtown. I am 80 now but to the young guy 'if you want a good wife for the rest of your life" go to Pittsburgh
I love that!!!
Aahh so true. Met a pgh girl outside of pgh. Widowed now but we were married 23 yrs. Absolutely the best part of my life
Very informative video, thanks guys đđ»đđ»
Our pleasure! Thanks for the comment
This is the best R/E piece I've ever seen. Also, I've recently seen reports that Pgh is the best value in the country and Sq Hill the best neighborhood in the country. I've been thinking of moving from the grossly overpriced Washington, DC, to Washington, PA, but it's difficult to get from Point A to Point B. I'm originally from the Bama part of Pennsylbama.
Thanks! Yes weâre a very liveable city⊠Sq Hill is a great area, gotta love Pittsburgh!
@@livinginpittsburghpennsylvania My problem is that I love Pittsburgh AND Philly, Chambersburg, could love York (one of the largest cities with a GOP mayor), could like Hagerstown, which is almost in PA. I found a county in PA that has NEVER voted for a Dem for president. Beautiful, but no public transportation, a fascinating place where three counties converge. As a realtor you know that the country is sorting itself out politically and culturally. When I was a student I dived right into the culture wars @upenn. Theoretically, Trump was a classmate, although I've never met him. BTW, he is a Dem.
I love to live in Pittsburgh. I came 12 years ago. For me is like my own home. I live in the north side.
Awesome!!
I like the small town vibe.
Well done Rylee!
Thanks! How are you? Shoot me a message!
oh girls. geez. these are the neighborhoods YOU want to hang out in. lol
My 2nd home when I retire!
đâïž
If you are moving here, yes, you must pronounce it âskrill hillâ or we wonât know where youâre talking about.
love the accent...and content, ps you favor shadyside area đ
I remember as a child back in the 60's. Walking to Mt. Washington and watching the fireworks. Back in those days/the overlooks were wooden. Then they made them concrete. Mt. Washington was a stones throw away from where I grew up! Thank you for sharing all the videos of PGH. I live in KY. But still have family there! Did you two grow up in pgh? Or are you transplants? Just curious!
Really cool!!! Pittsburgh raised đ

Excellent, helpful videos thanks!
Thank you for the comment! :)
Best piece I've seen; very thorough!
Thank you!!
Am I the only one that thought that this list was actually quite horrible. It seems like they were going for the neighborhoods that would get them the highest commission. Conveniently, the fact that most of Bloomfield and pretty much all of Lawrenceville is street parking and you get your car side swiped by drunks. Trying to maneuver down the tight roads on a regular was left out. You couldn't pay me any amount of money to live in any of those neighborhoods. At the end of the day, do people really want hip, trendy, upscale, ritzy stuff? Personally, I want a safe place to lay my head. That's quiet and peaceful. A list like this wouldn't be complete without Brookline. It's almost like a hidden sleeper. Quiet, some cool little shops, safe And most importantly reasonably priced.
Thank you very helpful

Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.
Iâm in pgh pa. I do videos as well riding bikes and my other channel is about everything I do. Whatever Robert. Is my other channel.
Awesome channel. Bethel park here
Thank you!!
Does Pittsburgh have a Blues club or Jazz club
Jazz festival ?
Smooth jazz ?

What's the job?
My dogs would love it. Is it as hot as Az or no? I'd be moving from Phoenix. I don't want the same kind of heat at all.
Nothing compared to AZ heat
Hello! Thanks for posting this. I will be in Pittsburgh tomorrow for one day (heading home friday). if you had a few "musts" what would they be? I will be heading straight to Cop Out Pierogies when I land, and having a couple beers at Cinderlands in Strip District(I know the head brewer, he used to live in Chicago). I'm staying off Carson Street. Any suggestions in that area for drinks? Good spots for breakfast in the AM? is Bicycle Heaven, Randyland, Mattress Factory worth seeing?
Thanks for any help!
~it looks like the weather will suck for a couple days so walking around probably isn't an option..
Hi! That's awesome. East Carson is a blast. For breakfast we have many great options like, Waffles Incaffeinated, Carmellas and Bonfire. Although Pamelas is not on east carson, it's known as our city's top breakfast spot! For drinks, i've heard Acacia, Dive Bar and Grill, OTB cafe, Fat heads (for brews)...there are so many great spots!
As for the attractions, yes they are pretty cool attractions to check out! It looks like the weather may be nice tomorrow....my favorite thing to do is grab some good food, walk around at some parks like our point state park, and check out the different neighborhoods & shops they have!
Iâm considering moving. How are the schools?
Amazing! We have so many options for top ranked high schools, private schools, and colleges. Our video coming out tonight briefly touches on our education. Were you looking into suburbs or city living?
We would be happy to go over our different school districts and areas that will best fit what you're looking for. Send us a text/email anytime!

The public schools are only good in the burbs. You have to be connected to ensure your child is in the magnet program for city schools. Otherwise it'll be a struggle.
Nice representation of the neighborhoods featured...the parks are incredible, if only the sun shined here ....
Thanks!
No sunshine that really sucks lots of vitamin D deficiency
I like your video. I believe I'm a Burgh expert.lol. and I approve of your video die sure. I have been thinking of doing some videos myself. Sq Hill is definitely my favorite area. As you said Murray and Forbes have all you need and being between Schenley n Dick gives you the best of both worlds for sure
Thanks for the comment! Sq Hill is such a great area. One of my favorites too. Two huge parks, all the shopping, food and convenient needs right there plus quick access to the city. A win- win đ
Jerry's Records on Murray. The place is amazing. I go there at least once a month to dig all afternoon and spend at least $50 on some sweet vinyl.
But my favorite place is Mt. Lebanon. I lived there for a summer in the 80s with my dad. Sad that CC's diner is closed now. Her Eggel Bagels were the best in town.
I used to work on 32st in Lawrenceville
Aquam Energy.
âSkrilhillâ @2:17
Came to the comments to see if someone else noticed...
Airport/west girl here. Love my city, but the shootings needs eliminated!
Not an affordable city. Maybe it used to be. Rent is crazy and housing prices have sky rocketed
Yes, real estate prices have gone way up without any reason -- it's still a shithole, at least the north side area is. No grocery stores, nothing has been improved or modernized, litter and dumping is even worse, dilapidated properties not addressed. They are tearing down places, and flippers have come in and destroyed the save-able houses with their horrendous renovations. It's beyond depressing.
How is Pittsburgh for Italians?
Bloomfield is called "Little Italy"
Got tired of turning the volume up and down. When you are not talking, music starts blasting.
I am from Pittsburgh, but I have bveen living overseas for over 20 years. Can you help me find a local chatroom about Pittsburgh that is not "corporate"? Thanx!
Hi there! We are not involved in any chat rooms so not really familiar enough to recommend any good ones. I do know there is a reddit one called r/pittsburgh, if that helps.
Good choices! Let me recommend Swisshelm Park.
Thanks! Thatâs a great one! đ
Also the word is pronounced "especially" not "eck-specially"
She's talking yinzer.
My uncle owns iron city and i work at the new brewery in Creighton. Most of the fam is in Fox Chappel but i cant afford that and want to be closer to work... any ideas? im thinking oakmont maybe.

Lived in Pittsburgh all my life. Almost 70 years. Mineoâsâs pizza is by far- best in the country- my option only, but, I have been eating pizza all my life!
Mineoâs is the best!!
i loved living in shadyside the most then i liked bloomfield an sq hill... havent lived in lawerenceville yet really hard to find reasonable rent there
Great neighborhoods! đ„
Why that music so LOUD??? đł
Shhh⊠we donât want too many outsiders coming in, whatâs the goal of blasting my neighborhood to the entire country. Please donât do that, we like it quiet just the way it is thank you
I agree with you, completely. Look at what transplants are doing to Austin, Ashville and Florida, for example.
Mt Washington has a huge drug problem ant there was someone shot dead on Friday April 2 because crime up there is getting bad. There was a man and woman that OD'ed in theft car on grand view ave last summer and their kids were in the car at the time
The crime thing is overstated. Sure you can get hit with a stray bullet, but we also risk our lives driving a car every day. If you dont bother the criminals they don't bother you. Most of the shootings are beef between rivals and disputes among each other. To most of the people not involved in criminal activity it is irrelevant to our lives. Just a news story.
Once you move off Grandview Avenue, Mt. Washington is very bad. Even the view doesn't make it worth living there. I lived there several years and couldn't wait to leave.
Thanks for making this. What are some of the best neighborhoods with median price is 200 K and below?
My pleasure! Are you looking at City neighborhoods or suburbs?
Suburbs most likely.â@@livinginpittsburghpennsylvania
@@SeeItSoCal Email us at livinginpgh@gmail.com - i will ask a couple more questions and then send over some suburbs that would be a fit with info on them!
Check out South Park, Pa.
Very affordable and is next to the beautiful park named South Park.
Cool vlog on channel CZcams
Great videos but more info about bike infrastructure and mass transit
They have many buses which are reliably 30 minutes late. No trains.
Shadyside is so overrated. Lacks culture. It has no community. It is very clean and quiet though. Lived there for a year, I didn't love it.
hi what are some of the best towns for families south of Pittsburgh?
Hello there! Do you prefer inner city limits or suburbs? We have many great neighborhoods south of pittsburgh. Some popular ones include Mount Lebanon, Upper Saint Clair, Dormont, Bethel Park, Bridgeville and more. Send us an email at livinginpgh@gmail.com and weâd be happy to send over some information on neighborhoods south of downtown, depending on what youâre looking for!

I donât even have to watch the video I live in Mt Lebanon my whole life đđ
Pittsburgh is the bomb
This is a funny question, but are there a lot of mosquitoes?
I would say Yes!
I'm from Northside
Hello!!! đ

I'm interested in moving to...#PITTSBURGH....when I visit , I always go to the "meat district" store....the big candy store too..!

Y'all can't sell me Shadyside. Nothing hip about Shadyside. Try somewhere else.
Any brasilian around?
Ana Paula Scultori, I don't know if there's an entire community, but I hired a Brazilian couple in Mount Lebanon that did professional photography. They were a lovely couple and I hope that there might be a community there for you.
This edit is VERY Pittsburg. âExpessially the expressoâ đ€Šââïž didnât yinz watch this before you posted it?

Say expecially again.
Use your own intuition- RE agents- it's their interest to sell. I would rent first for 3 months lease only with no penalty, and see if i like living in Pittsburgh. If not, I'd follow my intuition and look elsewhere. There are far better places in Pennsylvania to live or in other states than Pittsburgh. Statistics says- People relocate to new places every 5 years or so.
Cheaper yet nice places- leetsdale, Ambridge and on Rt 65/19 north from downtown should be cheaper. Others- McCandles, bridgeville, cranberry township.
What are your pros and cons to Pittsburgh? I would rather have an honest opinion from a local
Those parks are SAD!!
Stay Pittsburgh lady's stay Pittsburgh. In a world of where everyone wants to be NY or Miami, just be you.
Yes!!
Maybe pronounce Squirrel properly
Interesting. My wife and I grew up in Pittsburgh, North Side and East End, respectively. That's why we chose to build in a neighboring county and raise our children here. Taxes are low and none of the way too often reassessments that happen in Allegheny County. Pittsburgh houses are way too close. I could look directly into the next door neighbors' kitchen from my bedroom. I once drove my children by the Pittsburgh house. "Where did you play?" "That's your yard?" "Where did Grandpa have his garden?" People being shot or shot at most every day. And if you like leftist politicians, go for it.
I'll take leftist politicians over right-wing politicians any day.
youre not from pittsburgh
She needs to learn to pronounce âsquirrelâ correctly.
Nonsense ! The east side of Pittsburgh which you obviously have an obsession with is overrated and aesthetically not attractive Fineview Perry North and Southside Slopes are far better ! I was born in Pittsburgh but I live in the best areas of LA AND NYC . I visit often and walk all over the city . you two should get out of your cars and experience the city by foot !
Saying the best neighborhood in Pittsburgh is like saying the best venereal disease . Itâs overly taxed , dirty and the weather sucks ( along with the terrible roads and traffic ).
Nonsense. Pittsburgh has some beautiful neghborhoods
All the neighborhoods mentioned are city areas. There are also great suburban areas
