- BMW E92 M3 with a DCT transmission was looking for some more performance, so the owner decided to go with an ESS TUNING G1 Supercharger. Video shows the install process and some pulls in the car. More videos of the car coming in the future.

This supercharger looks so different from any other I've seen. It looks and sounds like a turbocharger. What type is this?
A modern supercharger kit. Nowadays they do look like turbos. Check esstuning website for more info!

How do you get that flutter sound from these? Didnt think the Superchargers made that sound.... but I love it 👌

@@matthewjamez it still builds boost even tho it isnt a turbo so it needs a BOV and thats whats making that sound
Curious why/how a supercharger is making that little flutter sound. Is that a part of the build or is it something else? I personally like the sound, especially coming from a supercharger but if it's something thats taking a toll on the car, I wouldn't necessarily be interested in getting it
It’s a centrifugal supercharger, basically like a turbo except because it is belt driven, means you get your power instantly without turbo lag, as that is exhaust driven. The flutter noise is from the blowoff valve

What's wrong with that? Sure they had to test it before handing it out.
So you should install the supercharger and then leave it there and never drive it? 😆
I've been looking at a bunch of super charged m3 videos. How is it that your whine is more noticeable???
Depends on which supercharger you put on. This newer G1 from ESS, has less mechanical rattles like the older VT -series had, so you hear more of the whine.
Also some put ridiculously loud straight pipe setups so you don't hear the supercharger 😅

what about the dct transmission original ?
DCT is original. This G1 set is capable of producing more torque but torque is dialed down a bit lower so you won't have any issues with it.
My dad had an E36 and two E46s. As far as the E46, I've never driven a car with an engine that felt and sounded as smooth as the S54. It spun up to redline effortlessly and never made any sounds or gave any hints that it was struggling, even when beating on it; it sounded like it would have been perfectly happy operating at another 1K or 2K RPM.
The chassis also felt super solid, balanced, and stable, like it was daring you to take it past your comfort zone and find its performance limits. However, the truth is that most peoples' confidence and driving skills would shit the bed long before the car's performance capabilities would. lol
I think the only complaint about the E46 was that, because the chassis was so good, it was underpowered. In fact, the general consensus among M3 aficionados is that the E46 should have gotten the V8, not the E90, E92, and E93.
I have my e46 m3 for 20 years with 194k , still running amazing. Everything you said is true.
I’ve owned plenty of toys and can’t give this car up.

Around 650HP/600Nm
Stock internals yes. The rod bearings have been changed on this one. The supercharger kit takes about 1 day of work to install and to have everything ready. And the 650hp is crank hp. In reality with this setup, it's closer to 700hp to the crank. We will do a dyno run next spring for this.
