The club culture died when it was no longer a party! The dance floors were basically eliminated and turned into sections. No more dancing and mingling socially. The slow jams phased out.....all twerking and ladies dancing with each other, and popping bottles in sections. No more enjoying the moment. It's all for the gram or social in general.

I think it's more of the men's fault. We go there with this expectation of meeting women at one of the worst places possible. Alot of realized it wasn't happening and stopped going. Club promoters took advantage that men were going for the women and started letting women in free at some clubs in order to bring in the men. When the men stopped going and spending money clubs started dying. Also COVID played a big part as well.

The concept of " nightclubbing" has changed since the early 2000's especially in America : 1) the danger factor you have emasculated males get mad by being rejected by a female only to leave and comeback with a pistol and wind up shootin up the place 2) attitudes of the females that come into the club. They have this expectancy of us men buying them drinks and in most cases they ghost us after they get their drink 3) no one dances anymore cuz they're there for profilin meaning taking pictures with their smartphones and posting themselves on social media ridiculous!!! 3) the 2 minute DJ. You have DJs that will play a song for 2 minutes and switch to another song right in the middle of song previously played makes no sense. That's you have event venues or club special events . I wish i was on this panel for this podcast i would've given my experience of clubbin as participant and as a DJ

Another aspect nobody covered is the lack of club bangers. Since Trap and Drill music is the predominant genre the current artists make music for, it's not club music. Trap and drill are double-timed or slower beats, analogous to club music, which is 90bpms or faster.
So club DJs have to prioritize 90's and 2000's music, which doesn't fit the crowd of occupants in the club. The Gen-Xers and millennials grew out of clubbing.

Also, people's priorities shifted, starting families earlier, chasing the bag $$$ and increased travel! On the downside, violent behavior has also affected the vibe! I'm GenX and here is my 2 cents. We originally went to the clubs to party not meet women. Chasing them doesn't work. You have to let them come to you. Back then, the coolest place to be was on the dance floor. Go to the dance floor, get your groove on, dance with whoever comes to dance with you, buy her a drink after to show appreciation and keep it moving to the next chick. You are guaranteed to get played if you don't let the women come to you.
Once people stopped dancing and started posing for their IG, that's when the Club Culture died, in my opinion.

And then it was on. The guys would get out there with us and we'd get all kinds of messy all night until the bright lights came on suddenly at the end of the night. It was beautiful and I'm so glad I was part of it. Went dancing every night except Mondays bc the clubs were all closed.

Tables are now in the middle of the dance floor. You gotta buy a bottle or get a section just to sit down. People literally stand around and wait for opportunities to go live. The younger folks are too cool to dance and don't want to approach each other because they don't want to look thirsty. Also no one dresses up anymore. The black girls are wearing Js in the club looking like boys. No sex appeal. Plus the music is different. We had songs that made u dance and often had dances go with them.
