Tobey’s screams are so iconic and feels real. This scene is a Sam Raimi masterpiece.
Exactly, people like to see all his screams as memes, but the reality is that he’s a great actor. Those screams really make me feel like he’s trying to stop a train🔥
Yeah, his facial expressions and grunts are what make it genuine. The filmmakers aren’t trying to make him keep the ‘pretty boy’ appearance when his character is going through a physical struggle.
@@mau4604 well said, about the “pretty boy” appearance

I don't care what anyone says the 'Spidey vs Doc Ock fight' on the train is still one of, if not the best, fight scenes in a Marvel based movie. And the fact that this came out in 2004 and the CGI for that fight still holds up, and actually still looks better than some CGI does today, speaks volumes as to how good it is.
Actually that the first one, this was in 2004.
Blade 2 koff koff
I haven't seen or met anybody saying that this fight sucks
And people think that Tom Holland movies have the best CGI? It's only CGI.
I can’t imagine the pain he put on his body when he stopped the train. Truly the most heroic act he’s done
Toby is incredibly strong.

@@kajakajan5978 I'm afraid your message is gobbledegook to me.
It's one of the rare moments Peter doesn't have to "hold back" and uses his entire strength, which at its peak is not far from base level Hulk. Homecoming tried to recapture this with the ferry scene, but not quite as iconic. NWH showed that Toby Peter really is stronger than Tom Peter. We still know nothing about the spider that actually bit MCU Spidey; its still quite possible they'll make Peter a mutant who's powers got unlocked by the spider bite, or the spider bite had nothing to do with them and his powers just "awoke".
@@nahor88Spiderman could 100% beat Hulk
I love how otto is smart, he knows he can't beat spiderman, he's a scientist not a fighter, so he basically make a scenario where spiderman got super tired that he can't fight back...
Yet he easily beats tom holland's spiderman in the trailer in spiderman no way home even though he had the iron spider suit. This just shows how much better tobey maguire is than tom holland's.
@@Oreo_Editz - -, the movie isn't out yet. and there also a scene where they captured dr oct.
@@JohnLiuFromHK He spares him saying "You are not peter parker". So far the leaks have said that they are captured in dr strange's prison. So dr strange captures them since he has the cube thingi that peter steals which is the key.
@@Oreo_Editz Imagine arguing about a movie that hasn't even been released in theaters yet...
@@VarietyRulez but still. Tobey's peter parker was overpowering doc ock in the train fight. Doc ock knew he couldnt beat spiderman toe to toe therefore he sabotaged the train. By doing so, peter was extremely exhausted thats how doc ock came and captured spiderman. Tom's spiderman is really a beginner when it comes to tobey and his skills.
You can say whatever bad things about this trilogy

@@sastaassh1112 no. Yet it stills a good one
The first two are awesome.
The most impressive thing about this entire scene is that Doc Ock's sunglasses remained perfectly on his head throughout the whole fight.

@@rebajoe Probably robs a Store

I legitimately love that the only pre-fight dialogue between Spidey and Ock was two lines:
"Where is she?"
"Oh, she'll be just fine. Let's talk."
Other than that, nothing but grunts, shouts and screams.
Which just has so much more impact than a fight scene that stops the fighting to have half a minute of dialogue (looking at you, Revenge of the Sith).
*Literally any and every anime ever*
0:00 - 0:18 Spider-Man’s swinging all in one shot, no cuts, and then transitioning from Doc Ock’s glasses perspective was absolutely genius
Love that part. We see spiderman from doc ock's perspective as it zooms out..
love how the music changed to doc ock theme
It really is! I think if there was a cut between Spider swinging and Doc Ock’s glasses it would’ve ruined, because it makes it look like he’s just waiting there for no reason and randomly starts to fight him, but here it shows that Otto was watching him Swing toward him, so he started to climb up to get ready to fight. Most people relate to this version of Spiderman because all he ever wanted to do was to be with MJ, but also keep her safe. And he couldn't have one without the other. Add the fact that he was behind on rent, missed classes and couldn't keep a job.

I thought it was better than the 1st one. Third one, not so good IMO.
Sounds like you were a foolish teenager
Maybe because you were just biased with how good Willem Dafoe was as Green Goblin, but Spider-Man 2 is just leaps and bounds better than the first one, narrative and action wise.
The films with Toby had 2 more parts to do. Where he fights real evil. And in the trilogy, he is trying with all his might to return the mistaken Vgars on the path of good. Good light, kind films.

Spider Man 2 aged so well, side-a-side with The Dark Knight, this is one of the most memorable, iconic and amazing superhero movies of all time

Tom Holland's Spider-Man needs a moment like this in his next movie. It'd come full circle so well; Tobey woke up with his mask off, but learned he could trust the people to stand by Spider-Man and keep his secret safe, and even gave back his mask... A lesson that Tom really needs, after all the pain and suffering he's went through simply from having his identity revealed.
2:44 That moment you´re so fed up with spidey´s shenanigans, you just start to throw random people at him.
I just love how Doc is just being all "very well" and pushes them violently aside like they are just some random obstacles. It completely destroys the entire emotional power that was build up so very well before, and gives a real sense of threat, power and fear (as a kid i was really scared he would randomly kill one of them). This is soooooo well made
Otto only cared about the tritium, fuck the world.
It also made it pretty clear that Spiderman was the only thing protecting New York from a maniac like him.

Legendary directing, acting, script, cinematography, editing, and producing. This is probably the best Spiderman action scene ever followed closely by the Sandman train scene. The new movies are cool but Raimi's spiderman is a masterpiece. Props to Willem Dafoe for killing it on No Way Home. What a performance!
Not just Spider-Man, but one of the greatest action sequences ever made in all of film.
My ranking of superhero trilogies
1. Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy
2. Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy
3. Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy
How to make a great scene;
1) Do it with a train lol
I mean yes, props to Willem Dafoe, but why are we giving him props for his NWH performance on an Alfred Molina video
I love that the kid who gives the mask back to Peter is like "we won't tell nobody," like, what are you going to say?
"Dude, I saw Spider-Man without his mask! He's a white guy! Also, he's no older than some other guy's son!"
"...Parker, of course! Why didn't I think of that?!"
Favorite scene of all time for Spider-Man. He fought hard to save those people and risked his identity cause he knew what he was getting into when he decided to be a hero. When they finally seen his face no one didn’t take pics or anything just wanted to help him for helping them. 🤩

Spider-Man has the best rogues gallery in all of Marvel, his villains are just top-notch. And yet, THIS is my favorite thing to see him do. As awesome as the train fight is, it’s the aftermath that makes me love him so much. The fact that Mary Jane or Aunt May or anyone else aren’t on the train makes it even better. Spidey pulling out everything he has to protect ordinary, normal people that he doesn’t even know is what makes him a true hero. As much as I love his villains and seeing them fight, my favorite parts of his movies are always when he’s saving people from real, grounded danger like this.

One that isn’t mentioned a lot but something superhero movies miss alot these days are the civilians. Raimi’s trilogy shows that this city isn’t Static, him interacting AND saving these people shows what’s a stake. He saved their life and in return they save him from falling, they’re just as heroes to him as he is to them. They are the ones that keep him going to be Spider-Man.
czcams.com/users/shortsfU_QcOmIU8o?feature=share
Yes, exactly! Notice how superhero movies now do a decent job of showing the good guy vs bad guy battles, but they never, or rarely, show the heroes actually saving any civilians. Sam Raimi absolutely brought it with all 3 of these films (yes, even the third one) in showing the true hero that Spider-Man is.

Edit: Someone in the comments said having web shooters makes Spiderman more limited because if it breaks, he's gone. I heavily disagree. Look at Tobey's Spiderman, he's literally getting torn apart because all he has are his webs and stickiness to surfaces and that's all he's using to try and stop the train. He doesn't have the high tech suit Tom's Spiderman does so he's in every way limited, he barely even saved them and he very possibly could've died right then and there.
He also don't need web shooters and have endless webs
Tobey - Power
Andrew - Agility
Tom - Intelligence
@@Doceli-dg3cn But not having web shooters is also a disadvantage, because the second he feels (I don’t wanna put it harsh, but) depressed, or down, his webs would stop working. 8:05 Joey fuckin CoCo Diaz, lmfao. But seriously Tobey is the BEST spider man, he’s the one from everybody’s childhood if you’re mid/late 20s like me or younger. He played Spider-Man so good and really made you remember he’s just a person and not another “super hero”. He’s needs to be casted again idk why the ever went with someone else, just my opinion tho.
