The 2002 L59’s have DBW also. They are the ones that come in the Suburban/Tahoe/Yukon’s. Basically the 2002 SUV’s have DBW, but they have the different style DBW throttle body that is identical to the one on the LS1 Corvette just made opposite.
I have an L59 in my 2005 Yukon. I looked and it seems to have the Flex Fuel injector rails, as you mention in your video. However, I only run NON-Ethanol fuel. Is this going to cause me any issues down the road? I've been doing this for 5+ years and have had no issues so far. I do get 3-4 more miles per gallon than I do with Flex Fuel, and tones more pulling power, and I took the intake off and have the cleanest intake and valves I've ever seen in a 19-year-old engine with 143,000 miles. I run some BG 44K in the tank once a year on 1000+ mile drives and I guess that helps keep it clean.
can you turn a 2002 lm7 into a L59 though? I have collapsed rod in a 2004 L59 and have access to a 2002 lm7 block . Can the the LM7 run flex with upper swapped?
@@EricDenton-ky2cb Thanks for the reply, I went ahead and purchased it. Tore it down and replaced as many gaskets and oil ring/oil pump, cleaned it up, etc. Now I have mated in. Upper intake and remaining parts going back on soon with the flex setup.

Yes of course I put a 04 4.8 in my 02 1500 it was literally plug and play
