- Dive watches are the most popular style of watch but why? This looks like a dive watch but it is far more practical and useful! Maybe we should all be buying watches like this!

WHY I OFTEN DON'T MENTION OTHER BRANDS IN MY VIDEOS.
You may have noticed that I often don't mention the original brands that watches I am reviewing pay homage to. This is very intentional and not meant to offend you or the original brands. I lost my first channel in October 2020 which I had spent 9 months growing and invested a significant amount of money in simply because I had mentioned the original brands in some of my videos. There are people who try to use CZcamss lack of understanding when it comes to the difference between homage watches and fake watches to attack other channels and their owners and sadly I fell foul of this in 2020. This channel was also attacked recently and CZcams deleted content simply because I had said 'subby homage' and 'Rolex homage' in two videos despite the watches in the videos being perfectly legal homage watches. Please understand that I can not afford to risk my channel so I will no longer be mentioning other brands when reviewing homage watches.

I use my dive bezel to time stuff every day. If I want 10 minutes, i just subtract 10 from 60 and align the 50 on the minute hand. Easy-peasy lemon-squeezy.
I use my bezel all the time to time stuff. Work tasks, exercise, it's invaluable during household chores when you are moving around a lot. And far more legible than most other timing methods.
I use the diver's bezel on my mini turtle all the time for cooking, I just move the zero triangle to when whatever I'm cooking will be done.
I actually use the bezel all day, everyday at work to keep track of inventory
I use a dive bezel every day to time stuff. Watering the garden or trees, kids'reading time, cooking, etc.
Actually you are so right about the countdown timer. I use a chrono for timing boiled eggs, frying fish etc and it's invaluable! 'Metrodiver' is quite nice and self-effacing, I like it.
You need an Alexa in the kitchen.
Being able to organise timers by voice command is invaluable for cooking with food all over your hands or if they are doing other tasks 😉
He is not right. If you are timing something that takes 15 minutes say, on the diver you stop it cooking when the minute hand hits the 15, on the count down when it hits zero it is the same. Without an alarm you’ll probably miss it whether it’s count down or count up anyway.
Try that with something more complex than boiling eggs lol. I use Alexa for all my cooking unless it’s the airfyer which has a timer
People just come up with these nonsense reasons to use a chronograph lol.
Reality is it’s just a watchmakers flex if it’s a decent movement, and a design choice either way.
@@alfieakaronaldog It's the only time I ever used it tbh and it only occurred to me one day to use the thing and darn handy it is too. I've also had divers but the only diving I've done didn't require a watch.
Nice to see the clock running again. Looks like a nice thing, I have several divers that don't get wet but the bezel does get used all the time. A bit pricey considering there's no bracelet though.
I have a bunch of watches with divers bezels and a single watch with a countdown bezel, I use the bezels to time things all the time and it doesn't matter to me whether it's a dive or countdown bezel. I use the bezel to mark a point in time, whether it's a starting point counting up or an ending point counting down makes little different to me, some times I even do it "wrong" and set a dive bezel to 40 to use it as a 20 minute countdown. Honestly I would be perfectly fine with no numbers at all, just mark every five minutes with a dot and I'll figure out the rest - I frequently use a gmt bezel to time stuff too..
Oh yes! The wall clock is moving again! ❤
Nice looking watch. I like that one and ohh the clock is working again yeah!😅
Oh no….i filmed this before i stopped it! 🤦🏻♂️
@@ilikewatches lol. Typical of me to be late 😄
@@ilikewatches Bring back the clock battery!
So happy to see you got the wall clock going again. Love it.
I use my diving watch to time everything, it works perfectly
AND the stop-to-go is BAAAACK!
I've been saying for years I much prefer countdown bezels. On a G-Shock I use the countdown timer loads, and never touch the stopwatch. Nice review, I think I would prefer this watch without crown guards, they aren't really necessary for timing pizza 😁
I *always* use my dive bezel....as a countdown timer.
Very cool watch. I’m good with either a countdown or a dive bezel even though I know I will never use it to actually go diving. Thanks for the great review!
Sinn 104A has a countdown bezel. Very useful in the kitchen or holding a super glued piece together.
Excellent visibility, too, also like a Sinn 104A. Generally a very good looking watch.
Not exactly a bargain price but far better than the Sinn, LOL. Not a clone either as the hands are different but still appropriate.
Maybe a steel bracelet for the price, but not critical. They did their homework on pricing and positioning. Very nice watches for a fair price. Not my cup of tea, but definitely refreshing.
Agreed, I've always wondered why they don't put countdown bezels on watches, way more usefull than a dive time bezel. I use my Nodus sector pilot (has countdown bezel) when we go into town to time the car parking ticket.
lol…Brilliant
What a great looking watch, just when I thought that the chances for finding a new cool watch are small. Awesome stuff.
That crown is impressive. They’ve got the signing to line upright when it’s screwed down. That’s not easy to do.
Nice looking watch. I find a dive bezel very useful for timing all kinds of things, and use mine a lot. Countdown bezels are good too, but nothing wrong with using a dive bezel for timing things.
I'm diggin it!! and a countdown timer is one of my most used things and why I've always had a Casio G-Shock version that had a countdown timer.
I like the idea of a countdown bezel, but I use my dive bezel for timing things a few times a week. Count up, count down, they both achieve the same thing.
Countdowns are definitely more useful. I use the dive bezel primarily to time eggs, workouts or when I'm running in the park.
Quite nice 👍, I also like the countdown bezel.
I like the angular case aesthetic too.
Great looking watch, delighted to see a total lack of "bright shiny" stuff all over the dial and hands, bonus points for the matt bezel insert too...............
Es un Sinn 104 St Sa A con otras agujas.
One of my favorite watch is my Seiko SRPB79J1 which has a countdown bezel. Good watch.
I agree with you about the bezel - this is more practical. Good looking watch. Thnx for starting the Mondaine again. Cheers!
How is it more practical?
Such a crisply machined case with really nice symmetry! They've done a fab job with that.
Hey Matt!
Nice watch. I like the strap. It looks thick, I hope it's comfortable nonetheless. But the buckle really should be a polished one.
I hope this becomes a trend! I want more field watch w/dive bezels.
Love my Nodus sector pilot
Sometimes, I'll have two things in the oven that are done at different times, and with the divers bezel, it's no problem. A countdown bezel will be more difficult as i would have to reset it when one is done or try to remember to take the first one out 10 minutes early. A countdown bezel seems to be a novelty but if I had one I'm sure I'll find a use for it. 🤔
Love the square edges and coin edge surround. And Frankly,I always wondered why Dive bezels didn't have the numbers in reverse order this way to count down time left in your tank..
Looks good, clean and simple to read. I think it would look good on a mesh braclet.
I use a dive bezel to time my walks. Countdown bezel would work for me as well.
I have to agree with you, I much prefer a countdown bezel and wish there were more of them to choose from. Also think I would enjoy a bi-directional bezel as well, but it is merely theory for now because I have not had the opportunity to play with one. Cool watch, thanks for posting!
No-date and a bracelet and this would be one of the best watches around.
Like the new style presentation, kind of more real of you like, don’t mind the um’s and err’s.
Good review in general. Not simmering I would buy, but hey ho , that’s the joy of this silly hobby, looking at them all and serving if you would or wouldn’t!
Nice one Gary.
Ah yes, the extra tactical diver. Hats off to the French military frogmen for this feature, where you can count between waypoints as you dive (check Tudor Pelagos FXD. Same bezel.)
I'm guessing this is one of those multi-function watch style where it can double as a flieger to a diver. Nice.
In fact i also used my dive watch like coutdown, works very well, nice watch
It actually looks great 👌🏼👌🏼
Nice! That's a different take on the bezel.
I use my dive bezel (count up timer) all the time.
However, the only reason is that IT IS a dive bezel. If it is a countdown timer, it is gonna be better.
I actually think the bidirectional rotating bezel is much much practical for everyday use, except for the few people who would use it for diving. Nice one 👍
signed crown: looks like team rocket is blasting off AGAIINNNN
Yay, good to see the Mondaine running again :)
Given that it has numbers in all 12 positions and a count down bezel, one could make the case (geddit?) that it is more of a confused or hybrid field watch, or even a Flieger with a countdown rather than a slide rule, than it is a diver.
Actually I quite like it, even as a diver who does use a true dive bezel.
Shame the numbers aren't lumed at that price...
I used my dive watch's bezel as a timer (sort of). First you need to do some basic math, then you move 12 o'clock indicator on the minute your time will come.
I don't really like that bezel in generally one way turnable. When you resetting it and go one extra click beyond 12.. have to do full turn again.
Hey,that's very cool indeed. I am Always timing food in the oven. Such an obvious and perfect idea.
Very very nice. Like the case shape and the dial.... If only they did it in a proper size
Nice watch but for that money I’d expect a decent SS strap.
*I use the diver's bezel 2-3 X per week, at work and home; no water involved.*
Nice watch, and a tool watch that is not a diver. Regards
So how does it work? What is the difference from the divers model?
I use a dive bezel for cooking all the time.
Good looking watch & a great review of it. What was on your wrist?
Rolex Submariner
Hello what watch were you wearing ??
@@ilikewatches oh I thought as much 🙏
I use the dive Bezel every day when Timing dinner.
€429 price without VAT and shipping made in Singapore 🇸🇬 (great country) Totally €600😅 Mercy!!
There are some 15% rebate codes floating around and they currently have a limited free shipping offer. I bought the 04 version and with the rebates I paid about €400 for it after VAT and duty. €400 is an OK price, and considering that the strap it ships with is literally 5€ AliExpress garbage, so it's sure as hell not worth the €600 it would have cost me without the 15% rebate and the free shipping. But for €400? Yeah, I don't regret buying it. I love the look of the 04 (not so much of the other versions).
I use my diving bezels all the time. In fact when I wear watches without bezel - I always feel it missing. But to the point. Although these guys did a good job of actually putting a countdown markers, the bezel itself did not change with it, did it? Some dive bezels just have geometry (like dashes or triangles etc) and no numbers at all so what’s the difference? You could not rotate the bezel in the same way because it has different markers? I think it’s funny:)
Actually I use diver's bezel. For counting time. Several times a week.
Nice watch.💯👍
Ouch that price! On a strap? Does the Miyota add thst much?
I want a watch with 2 count up bezels. One external for the minutes and one internal for the hours.
I love countdown time bezels, but sadly there aren't many out there, seems to be a bit of a 'back ally/cul de sac'?
I use my divers bezel for timing almost daily. How does he not understand it can also be used as a countdown?
Ooh that’s nice shiny shiny 💸
I'm surprised you don't see them when they're that size!
Nice
I use my dive bezel all the time when I'm cooking. I see no difference between counting up and counting down.
Thank you for restarting the clock! 🕑
Has a bit of a Sinn vibe, I like it for the price.
I managed to stop buying more dive watches - unless theres another reason. Bought two titanium divers, flipped them both at small loss. I also stopped buying below 40mm ... so of course I now have a 39mm diver in transit (Luminox,Tritium and Yellow dial). At least its cheap n from TKMAXX who accept returns
'Kitchen watch' sounds rather silly even though it would be the more proper name regarding how most bezels get used.
I'll not mention 'fidget ring watch'.
Oops....
I HAVE A SKMEI DIGITAL WITH BOTH STOPWATCH AND COUNTDOWN TIMER 😮😮😮😮😮😮
I can buy a Seiko samurai for that price..
I use my dive bezels all the time and I don't find this style anymore practical, you just use it differently.
A poor man Sinn 104 ?
Hey my Anti virus blocked that link for the watch. saying it could be a fake e-store
I got the same message
You mentioned on a previous video about adds, well on this 5 mins video started with a 20 second adds then a 15 second add, now that's taking the piss don't you think.
Looks good, but without a good bracelet and clasp, I’m out
Leaning toward the bi ... 😉 Well hello sailor.
😂
Just get a pre owned samurai
SINN 105 HOMAGE?
Talking crap, doesn’t matter if it’s count down or count up you use it the same way. 😂
A cheap G-Shock can beat this watch anytime of the day!😮😅😂
Alexa start à 12 minute timer.
Alexa "I'm sorry I don't know how to help you with that" me "YOU DID YESTERDAY!!!!,"
Me….”honey we need to buy an Alexa!”
Meh
It is made in china ...
As is virtually everything else.
Very tooly.
Another meh diver. So many of them
