    WHY I OFTEN DON'T MENTION OTHER BRANDS IN MY VIDEOS.
    You may have noticed that I often don't mention the original brands that watches I am reviewing pay homage to. This is very intentional and not meant to offend you or the original brands. I lost my first channel in October 2020 which I had spent 9 months growing and invested a significant amount of money in simply because I had mentioned the original brands in some of my videos. There are people who try to use CZcamss lack of understanding when it comes to the difference between homage watches and fake watches to attack other channels and their owners and sadly I fell foul of this in 2020. This channel was also attacked recently and CZcams deleted content simply because I had said 'subby homage' and 'Rolex homage' in two videos despite the watches in the videos being perfectly legal homage watches. Please understand that I can not afford to risk my channel so I will no longer be mentioning other brands when reviewing homage watches.

    I have this watch. The tachymeter dial is useless since the chrono seconds hand is on the 6 subdial. The split pins are wedge pins. This means that the successful way to remove these pins is not by tapping them out in the reverse direction of insertion, but instead to tap on the split side to to expose the rounded end and then use pliers to pull the pins through and out.
    I subsequently purchased the Illimite homage to the Bulova. The Illimite homage is a very nice watch which functions like the Bulova.

    Have you tried hammering the pins out in the opposite direction of the arrows? I've had a couple of Chinese watch bracelets with the same issue and discovered that either the pins were in upside down or the arrows were pointing the wrong way! 🤷🏻‍♂️

  • @commentjedi
    @commentjedi Před 28 dny +4

    To Cadisen: please fix the chrono hand to work with the tachymeter. Does no one any good in that subdial. The nonfunctional tachymeter was the dealbreaker for me

  • @EscapeWheel
    @EscapeWheel Před 28 dny +3

    I've had similar issues with DLC coated bracelets (or whatever coating they are using...PVD?)
    my guess is that the bracelets come assembled and then go through the DLC/PVD process which gets into the openings for the split pins and shrinks them just enough to make it a nightmare to get the pins out. that's my theory anyway.
    Nice watch though....I would have preferred the VK63 movement, though.

    I won't get mad over a bracelet from Ali (if only integrated, but there are also solutions there now), as i tend to take most off, wearing my watches on other straps. So, if the watch's price is right, many other options... even another bracelet!

  • @mikehiggins4079
    @mikehiggins4079 Před 28 dny +3

    Was considering this Cadisen when it launched. The price looked good.
    I had concerns about the Movement (hoping for a VK63), Butterfly clasp & 19mm lug width.
    Any one of these these things on its own was not a deal-breaker, but combined they stopped me buying.
    You have proved me right, showing yet another problem.

    Use a hammer to reshape the links (cover them in plastic before doing so). Soak the links in WD40. Then hammer out the pin. Also worth investing in a better hammer from Burgeon, that basic hammer is not substantial enough. 👍🏻

  • @redbarchetta8782
    @redbarchetta8782 Před 28 dny +1

    My guess on that bracelet is they did the black plating after drilling the hoses for the pins and by doing so put a few microns of black inside the pin channels making it fit way too tight.

    I’ve had the exact same experience with my 2 recent purchases from Cadisen. The pins have destroyed all my tools and I did eventually refund both watches. One of them I got my money back the second one is still waiting for a response.. these are 2 completely different watches from Cadisen that I got, not with that black coating. No more Cadisen for me 😡

  • @vicfontaine9480
    @vicfontaine9480 Před 28 dny +1

    They may have used a locking compound like nutlock or bolt lock - pin lock . Maybe put the bracelet into hot water to soften the chemical. You can’t heat a bracelet directly because of discolour to the metal and then a coated one is even worse.

    I bought a different Cadisen watch (their Grand Seiko White Birch homage) and the bracelet on that was the worst of any watch I've owned. That said, the head of the watch is great and is actually something of a strap monster!!

  • @higgledypiggledycubledy8899

    the bracelet is fine but it's just the wrong movement for a chrono with a tachymeter. The big seconds hand should be the chrono one, and needs more than 60 increments

  • @PlugInRides
    @PlugInRides Před 27 dny

    What kills this watch is the VD53 movement, which makes the Tachymeter bezel useless. You can technically call the Seiko/TMI VD5x series "quartz chronograph" movements, but the fact that all the stopwatch fuctions are on the subdials, make them virtually useless.

  • @cavernshark
    @cavernshark Před 28 dny +5

    No issues with the uncoated one, other than the second hand mixup which makes the tachymeter scale kind of silly. If you want something Bulova Lunar Pilot-ish, it's not a bad item.

      i would LOVE to have one of the Bulova watches but I tried one on at a local jeweler and its HUUUUGE!!!! too big for me to wear comfortably. I can get away with a 42mm sometimes, depending on the rest of the dimensions but....anything bigger than a 40 is usually too big.....

    Ahhh you got me there, I was totally expecting you to bag this one out! 😄
    Do the manufacturers use loctite on the pins sometimes? I had the same issue on a similar bracelet recently and bent a couple of drivers before they would budge, I noticed the new pins went in smooth as silk so I figured there might have been some kind of adhesive applied ?

    I definitely think Cadisen needs to rethink the bracelet and clasps on their watches. Spend more to put out a better overall product. There seems to be this race to the bottom in terms of price and I for one am not a fan. Who asked them to sell this watch for $60? They could have given us a nicer bracelet and clasp and sold this watch for $85. It wouldn’t have mattered to their core audience who’s after certain designs. SMH

    I’ve purchased two different dial versions of this Cadisen watch and haven’t had any of these issues with mine, although I did take the bracelet off of the black pvd one, and put it on a black and gray premium NATO strap, and it’s great! I agree with you though on many points here. I generally put most of my Cadisen watches onto leather or NATOs anyway. Either way I still really enjoy wearing this model, it’s just what you make of it, as long as you know what you’re getting into. Which is why we all appreciate your reviews on these watches. Thanks again for this helpful, and fun video on the Cadisen “Lunar Pilot” homage
