dashcams are essential!!!! people in florida will cut into your lane, smoking a blunt, no turn signals, solid white line from an exit to an on ramp and will hop out on you and scream and yell like you're at fault call the police call their insurance company and it will somehow work in their favor unless you have the trusty dash proof. Specially these Floridian drivers they all suck.
I worked at a car wash before and i remember seeing stuffed animals all over the dash or crystal decorations hanging from the rear view. Knowing that, i would get mad for having a little tree hanging when other drivers decorate their car like a pre-k classroom.
It all depends on the circumstances. It’s really not ok just because it’s cameras. No cop in their right mind would ticket Ed after they talked with him for a couple minutes. A cop in a bad mood, dealing with an uncooperative driver who was pulled over for something else bad, well, they might tack on the obstructed view ticket and anything else they can think of. It’s all a big game of intentions when it really comes down to it. A judge will see the notes under the obstructed view ticket includes the words “one little trees air freshener, black ice scent, hanging from rear view mirror” and instantly get the big picture. Driver was being a turd and needs to be taught a lesson, even if six of their seven tickets get dismissed and reduced. Something is going to stick. But in Ed’s case, with ten cameras and probably ONLY getting pulled over for that because it’s an obvious mess, he would probably not get the ten possible tickets. He would be friendly and cooperative and charming and have all his paperwork in order and leave with a handshake while already taking down a couple of them. LOL Anyway, just felt talkative and I have experience with this as well. I run multiple cameras and mobile HAM and GMRS radio antennas and aftermarket lights and heads-up displays for real-time engine performance and switch panels and. . . Well the list goes on. TONS of stuff on or near my windshield and dashboard. Never ticketed for any of it. P.S. No, there’s no lights in my face, no big bright screens to take out my vision at night or whatever. Minimal “obstructions”. It’s all tucked into corners and edges nicely. . . But, I guess technically they could get me if they wanted to. No little trees, though. LOL Maybe they’re conditioned to believe that most of the people who hang those are driving around smoking stuff. LOL
I'm gonna be that guy. Rain on your wedding day is not irony, in fact very few of the examples in the Alanis Morissette's song are, now that actually is ironic. Irony is getting pregnant on a pull-out couch or a fire station burning down.
