TRAIL BOSS takes on 14 mile off-road Trail!

- On todays adventure we head down to Talladega National Forrest to take on the 14 mile off-road trail 600-1! This is a very fun trail that leads to an amazing look out! I would say most 4x4 vehicles can make this trail but some rocks might be close on stock height vehicles. Definitely worth the trip!

This was really cool to watch. I’ve backpacked all of that before. The pinhoti trail runs parallel to that road for a few miles and hits all of the same lookout points. The highest you got in elevation was probably around 1700 feet. The highest point in Alabama is actually really close to there, Cheaha State Park at about 2400 feet. You should for sure make a stop by there the next time you’re out that way. It definitely looked a lot easier driving it than it was hiking it lol.
Chase I say take Lauren to where you parked the trail boss on the rocks and take some Picts of y'all. It was a very beautiful view. Trust me, you'll get brownie points for it. I'd do it if I lived there. Great content, bad ass truck and keep up the great stuff. Can't wait for the next one.

When off-roading with brush around my dad would always put a good layer of carnauba wax on the sides and front helped keep the paint from getting scratched

My buddy and I hit that trail about 2 months ago with our trucks (2001 Ford F-150 Lariat 4×4 off road and 2004 Ford Ranger 4×4). Beautiful area to put your truck through its off roading paces. 600-2 is within a couple of miles from the end of the 600-1. Unfortunately, there was logging being done on 600-2, so we decided to stay out of their way and head home.

Amazing final view! Just a pro-tip, take your hitch off when off-roading. Really lowers your rear-end clearance and I doubt you want to ruin a nice ball hitch.

5.3 is still good man. I had a 05 cat eye then a '17 two wheel drive LT now upgraded to a 2020 RST and it's one of the best trucks I've ever owned/driven.

Pretty sure that 87 is harmless for the 6.2 however I dont blame you for being concerned. Engines know how to adjust for the change. Usually it says premium required because that is the fuel they used to rate the horsepower and mpg at. I’ve got an 05 Acura TL that says premium required and I just put 87 in it. Hopin to buy a 2011 Silverado soon.

Your truck will run fine on 87. I know 2 other people with the 6.2’s and they do. Not saying you might not drop a little performance. But the odds you’ll notice is highly unlikely.
Up in Canada we run 87 for years on the 6.2 and runs fine. No loss performance.
You're not getting as much timing advance with 87. It IS making less power guaranteed.

Haha, a lot of us did. I miss a few of them. Had a mint 98 Jeep Cherokee Sport. 4 door, 4x4, 4.0 Four inch suspension lift, on 33x12.5r15. All blacked out, Black window Tint, Powder coated Black Rims, with Caramel interior. What a ride that I had trashed. Lol sold it for what I paid for it, but still.

Take your mud flaps bracket out. And you won’t rub. I have 24x12 on a 3.5” lift and no rubbing after I took them out.

I drive a raptor mostly for the looks I do off road it a lot actually but if I didn’t work for Ford I would love to have one of the Chevy trucks they are beautiful trucks and people who say the interiors are too plain I don’t know I see that as a good thing simple can be luxurious and classy and it makes the trucks age better but what do I know. Love your truck glad too see it off road lol

When you do that you need to let a little bit of air out of your tires that way it rolls over it not spends out on the rocks
My mom's 2019 high country has the 6.2 and has never had anything besides 87 in it and it's fine. 93 is recommended for power and efficiency but not required. The computer will make adjustments.

You shouldn't have any issues! I ran it all in 2wd, depending on how tall your truck is watch out for some of the rocks so you don't bottom out 👍
