Thank you for the informative and truly valuable video! I am interested in applying to work in Dubai in the near future, and your video was very helpful. I originally had thought to apply as a NQT (completing my Masters this June in Australia) but I might take your advice and try to gain experience first before hand. It is good to know however, that employers still consider NQTs among all other applicants.
The sample interview questions are great also, very helpful for anyone applying to teach as a graduate anywhere in the world :)

One question that was also asked was 'what CPD or course have you been on that has now influenced you as a teacher?'. I find this very inspirational, I am currently living in the U.S and always have wanted to teach in the Middle East as well...but I am a bit hesitant. I have a couple of questions, since I am currently still in college would a bachelors degree in Sociology and a TEFL certificate suffice? Also, is it possible to get hired without any teaching experience, I understand you recommended that you should, but I feel I would prefer my experience to be in the Middle East rather than America if that makes sense? Lastly, what type of work loads do you go through, like some realistic expectations in the work place? Thank you for all this information I've been wondering how I can go about this for the longest and you were very thorough!

    • @aoifeclifford6348

fiz k Thank you so much for your comment!!✨ Unfortunately, a new teaching criteria have come out in Dubai within the last few months that require teachers to have a proper teaching license so I no longer think a TEFL certificate will suffice. It’s all very new but they are trying to raise the standard of teaching and education here so I think that is why they have brought in this. You could still get on to some recruiters that I’ve linked in description box to help you out too in your enquiry. Let me know if you’ve any other questions.☺️✨

James Shaw Hey James, no it’s not a daft question at all!😂🤗 Ya, I actually know one or two guys who are PE teaching here and they have a sports degree!! It’s a very closely related degree for PE teaching so if you do only have that, you would more than likely get a job in it!! 😊 Hope that answers your question!😊

About Me Hey! ☺️☺️ The usual working hours are between 7:30 -3:30. I’ve never been forced to stay after works but sometimes I would say after work to prepare myself and do extra work but this is only on my own accord!☺️ There is usually PD meetings on a Thursday and kids go home earlier on a Thursday to allow for these meetings, this was the case with my last school! Some schools are different but most of the time they follow similar procedures!☺️✨

Marzie Khoshhal Hi Marzie!! Just this year, a regulation came out by the KHDA(the education authority) that all teachers here would need a teaching degree. This wasn’t the case before-hand as some people came out here to teach with just regular degrees!! However your best bet would be to get in contact with the recruiters in the description box below to see can they assist you further as they are in direct contact with these schools. Best of luck and I wish you all the best with the job search! Let me know if you have any other questions ☺️

caziza __ Hey Caziza! In the top British and American schools in Dubai, you would need a bachelor of education and experience but for other schools in other emirates it would be 100% possible to get a job with your qualifications and experience. Dubai is very competitive as so many people want to go there but Sharjah which is the closest emirate to it might be the best bet with your experience however it’s a dry emirate (no alcohol served) and is much quieter than Dubai but many people who work there, go to Dubai every weekend ☺️☺️☺️
