Looks awesome!!!
Thanks!
That looks so delicious.
Thanks! And thanks for watching!
Great kit! That turkey looks beautiful!👍😊
Thanks for watching! It’s really the total package
Good stuff
Thanks!
Thanks for the vid. Have you tried the whole turkey on the lone star? How big a turkey can you fit on that grill?
That bird looks awesome. I can't wait to smoke the bird I have in the freezer now.
You’re going to love the turkey off that WWPro!
@@AndersonsSmokeShow The plan is to dry brine, spatchcock, and inject. I just did a pork butt and some Mac n cheese and it was insane!
I’ve got a video of exactly that coming later in the week!
@@AndersonsSmokeShow I used your video from last year as a base for what I did last year and will do something very similar this year. I can’t wait to watch this year’s version!
Great videos! Can you do turkeys on a Weber kettle? Thx!
It can be done, but the problem could be the lid if it’s too big
I Luv "spatchcock" turkey only
I love a good spatchcock too! In fact I have another turkey video coming out later in the week that’ll be just that!
I tried it just for something different and everyone loved it, so juicy and tons of flavor
@chrisstansberry4394 I’ve loved them too
Hello from Columbus, Ohio. Love your videos. I have a set-up similar to yours, so your videos are extremely helpful. I use a Camp Chef ZG (from Dick's Sporting Goods) pellet grill with the gridle side-kick. What are your thoughts on using charcoal pellets? I've been using Lumberjack competition blend wood pellets mixed with charcoal pellets. I contacted Camp Chef to see if the charcoal could be used and they said yes.
Hello from NE Ohio! I’ve used the charcoal pellets, but honestly prefer the hardwood pellets.
Curious - on last year's turkey smoke on the Masterbuilt gravity, you had the temp at 325 degrees... with this one its 225 degrees. Why the change in the temp? Is it due to the dry brine vs wet brine? Thanks!
I was following the instructions provided with the kit. I personally cook mine hotter than 225F as you’ve noticed.
What's your deciding factor in using pellet grill vs your gravity fed smoker?
They are so close in capability that it really doesn’t matter in terms of cooking the turkey. From there it’s just popularity.
Hey when are the videos going to be coming out with you cooking on the lone star grillz?
I have a turkey on the LSG coming later this week
I can’t wait for that video!!!
@@AndersonsSmokeShow Would this turkey have fit on the LSG due to the height difference vs. the Woodwind?
@bsbaker1 it definitely would fit, but it could be a tight fit with the top shelf
A short handled pizza peel works well for turkey, brisket and pork shoulder, oh yeh and for pizza lol
I’ve done that before… honestly forgot that I had one hahaha
Water pan or no?
I usually don’t.
How many pounds was this turkey?
15 pounds
15lbs
Do you like your own receipe more or this one? Your 4:1 Honey Bourbon seemed legit.
I think they both have their positives. With the turkey kit you have the convenience of premade along with the fact that it’s developed by an incredible cook, with recipes that tried and true. But then you have the simplicity of making your own using my recipe with just a few simple ingredients. I truly like my recipe and will continue to use it… heck I even use that same glaze on my smoked salmon! But at the end of the day you can’t go wrong with either.
I smoked a turkey last week. I took that 4:1 honey bourbon and experimented with it. I did 2 table spoons melted butter with one tablespoon each of evoo, honey and bourbon. I spooned it over the turkey 3 times during the cook. It was outstanding. @@AndersonsSmokeShow
@@AndersonsSmokeShow Good to hear. I wanted to use your recipe this year then you threw a curve ball at me with HGH
I’ve got another turkey video that came out today
@@AndersonsSmokeShow I saw that yesterday. Im trusting you this Thanksgiving that a dry brine will be juicy and bc of that my family will love me long time.
You made a great point about the love for our country!
Are you referring to something I said in this video? Or what I said in the Lone Star Grillz video?
Spatchcock version of the same recipe please.
I was thinking the same thing!
Sorry but the brine kit is sold out 🎉
The kit is, but we still have individual bags of brine in stock!
😔
I’m not a brine fan, have you ever repeated the recipe and skipped that part, but followed the rest?
