  • A slow day fishing with LAAC, just could not find the big ones. Quite common December to January not a lot of big fish in the 20's and to windy to head out past those depths in my little tinnie. The LAAC comps are a species comp, there is an approved list of fish so anglers can weigh one each off, that are not catching rubbish fish that are poor eating. While some may think sambo not great eating there are quite a few recipes that suit the flesh well, at the end there is a one such recipe.

Totally agree that you can always find a recipe to eat the fish people say is "horrible to eat".

Best fish karaage I ever made was with Sambo. Last one I had was horrible, couldn't eat the karaage, a bit of a lottery fish.

Hi Steve, It's a fisheries law. Crayfish with the tail clipped are identified as recreationaly caught. If a commercial premises has clipped Cray's they get in a lot of trouble.
