When the Tailor are thin on the ground it is always easier to find them where the baitfish are busting up.

When to release a demersal and when not? A little video that will help answer that question. I never condone fishing demersals for sport, but sometimes it is better to release the small fish.

Have not had a chance to have a peddle power fish for a while. Not ideal conditions for inshore pinks but gave it a crack all the same.
A few quick throws, turns into a fish a cast session.

The truck was a mess from a tour the night before, so before cleaning up I went down for what I thought would be a quick session. Lost count of how many fish were caught!
How to cast a spin rod.
zhlédnutí 485Před 3 měsíci
The biggest issue I find with my customers is casting ability affecting their fishing results. Fishing surf beaches like Lancelin there can be a lot of shallow turbulent water between the beach and where the fish are. Quite simply if you don't reach where the fish are with your lure or bait, then you are not going to catch them. Practice make perfect, casting is a repetitive skill follow these ...
Redemption or not ?

Another morning casting lures for green backs. A lot of customers ask me how to cook tailor, stick around at the end for one of my cookups.
I have a monkey on my back!

Luck comes in runs good and bad, hopefully my luck will improve soon. Just need to keep on throwing those lures and sooner or latter those hooks will start to stick.
One of those days!

Well it didn't go to plan, but that's fishing, you have to take the good days with the bad and just enjoy the experience.

Nice mate, good feed, that lite lure was on fire in the bay 🎣✅ shark got what was coming to him 😂💪🏼
Just doesn’t seem worth it
Have to agree, but could have been so much simpler 🤷
At the very least you would want a extended drawbar and a drive on trailer
Great call to keep that Mulloway once you realised it had bled a lot and was injured. We see too many people return fish which will almost definitely die later. Love your work mate. Thanks for sharing.
I haven't kept one for ages. It turned out just the right size, beautiful eating.
Fantastic, action-packed episode 👍👍 Dingle Ds are the future! Reckon you need the bigger size DD that they sell to take a mullet slab off the sand & out of reach of the rays? Thanks for taking me out for a successful mission the other day (Bo). Peter, you’re one of nature’s true gentleman for treating rays, sharks and the beaches with the respect.
It's more so keeping the bait buoyant moving back and forth in the waves, like the surf popper. But yes could do with some bigger ones too. It was a good day on the beach, fantastic weather and a couple of nice fish 😁
This is clickbait! Nobodys teaching me how to stroke it
😂🤣😜
What size circle hook are using will have give the dingle ago.well done on the mulloway
That was a mix that day circle and j, I use 6-7/0 with the small fillets.
I don't usually kill rays just gaff them in the end of the wing drag them to the water. I don't think that kills them
The wing won't kill them, the head will. Just some recent observations I thought worth mentioning 👍
See you tomorrow morning 🎣
Tight lines lads. Looks like epic conditions on the cards. Nothing like Lancelin sand between the toes first thing in the morning.
🤞for a mulloway
Just a great place to be at sunrise. The endless summer keeps on giving.
Looking forward to catching up and having a fish in June! Cheers. Neil 🍻
@@outdooraussie6355 🤞for good weather and the fish on the bite.
I saw them at GA outdoor, used this commonly in surf fishing in South Africa highly effective for shad/tailor.
They've been great so far, need to get back to getaways for some more sizes.
Nice work mate 😊
Thanks just great to be out there on the beach 👍
The word is that dhu fish are about to be not take able at all!! There are talks at fisheries 🤷♂️
I know there's still some concerns. Hadn't heard that. Very flawed management for a long time for them. damage was done when they failed to recognise how GPS changed fishing.
Jeez, how's the conditions!! Great video Pete.
It doesn't get any better 😆
Cool story of release and catch again. Super interesting Dhufish being territory bound. It explains why their numbers dropped since GPS
Exactly 👍
Looking forward to seeing the build progress. Well done Pete, well earned and deserved.
Thanks Brett 👍
Lanolin - good stuff. I use it on my trailer that sits outdoors all year - no rust.
I originally used it up north on my quads that were used on the salt flats. Awesome stuff.
Nicely handled in both aspects. Great videos Peter. I've been watching a lot of your tailor vids to prepare for the upcoming season in SE Queensland. very informative and always excitng to watch, Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the kind words. Hope you have a good season. The tailor fishing looks pretty good over there.
Showing your outstanding targeting skills and knowledge of the bay. Fascinating 👌
Much appreciated
get the thumbs out of there, It'll bite you eventually
Not on the beach, that's a rock thing.
Just found this channel. I have had a 12 yr hiatus from fishing. Just getting back into it and want to focus on beach fishing especially walking and flicking lures. Is a fishing trip lure focused an option?
Certainly, do you mean one of my tours?
@@peterfullartonfishing yes
@@christallowin4046 Usually we could throw a few baits as first light happens. Then move onto lures. I have several customers that prefer the lure fishing. It's better on a day when the swell is not too big and a better class fish spring and autumn
what is your kayak called?
It's a Hobie profish 17t
Nice one mate.
Thanks 👍
did you just launch from the beach ?
Yes near sea rescue building 👍
@@peterfullartonfishing do you think id be able to walk a kayak down on wheels or a bit far for that spot? haven't been up there in a while
@@bryce6267 easy
@@peterfullartonfishing thanks mate
love me fresh chopper
Me too 😁 straight from the sea to that pan.
See you Sunday morning looks good up there lately mate 👌
Looking forward to the day😁
I was out today there, got into some nice tailor. 10 all up. A 4$ temu lure and the CID shiverstick did the damage. I left them biting at 11am.
@@TheKingKeane Awesome any good size? Couldn't find the big ones the other day.
Ripper vid mate.
Thanks 👍
Sometimes hard to understand ya, whats the lure, something Sprat?
@@weavebrain cid sprat. 😁
@@peterfullartonfishing cheers 👍
When upgrading lures like the shiverstick, Halico slidog or zipbaits SSM ect what singlehook or even wirecore assist hooks should i buy?
I don't think you're likely to straighten the stock hooks on tailor. I use the vexed wire core singles, there's two singles on each set. Otherwise allways owner trebles. Bkk make a nice strong hook but the points turn in .... That puts me off on the big hooks and lures.
coming up soon and just wondering what reef that was that u were fishing at
Sorry we don't go into specific spots. When the snapper are in they are near all the inshore reefs. Mid December to mid May pretty much any morning you can catch them. Now it is best to go try straight after a swell has been running.
Thank you, sir, for the information.
You are welcome
Awesome, needs to be more tutorials for people on how to cast
Solid fish mate well done , those green backs can do Ur head in at times
Sure can sometimes you land every one other times 🙆
Hi mate which beach
Most fisherpeople don't give out specific spots. It's easy enough to work out I fish Lancelin area.
Awesome! Thanx for guiding us Sunday arvo Peter, it was a helluva experience! Learnt alot!
No problem enjoyed the day. Some magic mornings on the beach, it was more like a washing machine yesterday. But good for snapper now.
Not sure if you call it redemption or not, but its definitely fishing and its definitely a good feed at the end of the day
Yum 🤤
onya Pete
Hey mate where abouts is this beach
I do all my fishing Lancelin
👋ha the beach look awesome 👍 could I get the name ov the lure and were you got it ? Cheers mate 👍🇦🇺🇦🇺
The lure is a CID Shiverstick. The big one 165mm is a bit overkill for tailor more suited to spanish mackerel. The red head one is 125mm and perfect for larger tailor. They cast a mile well balanced so they fly through the air like an arrow. As you can see fish like them too.
I get them at getaway outdoors Balcatta
Thanks mate gonna giv em a go 👍👍👍
True
Far out even though a lot where dropped that really was an amazing morning, dream session for a lot of people I reckon 🎣✅
I have Wednesday morning off.... Lures are loaded with owner trebles on the tail end. 😁
Great stuff mate.
Thanks
Good work mate 👍
Ppl and boat ramps, watch , learn , laugh. Not in that order.👍🦘🇦🇺
hey peter, what size is the popper the 135 or 105?? just curious on the weight/grams of it
That's the 160, 75g. Overkill for tailor and hard work blooping it for a few hours compared to the 135.
Is that the 125 Shiverstick or 95?
125, pilchard colour is the best 👍
21grams is a bit light for casting distance on the 95, thanks, for info@@peterfullartonfishing
Great session mate!
Thanks, my favourite fishing spending a morning casting lures for greenbacks.
Bloody good effort mate 👍🏻👍🏻
Beautiful work as usual Peter! Great session. I think that’s also my plan for this weekend ✅
The mullet have been running, brings the big ones into casting range.
Epic lure session there mate love mornings like that
Not sure what it is about an early morning casting lures. I just really enjoy the experience fish or no fish. So long as it's not raining 😂 very civil hours now didn't cast a lure till 6 had a tailor fry up at home by 8am for breakfast. Coffee shop by 8.30 😁
I saw this 9 months ago no way😂😂
