- Assassin's Creed 3 Remastered has finally hit the Nintendo Switch, and many consider this game to be the worst Assassin's Creed game yet. Honestly though, I'm not sure why. Assassin's Creed III for Switch is an amazing game, and in this review of AC3 for Switch we will break down why!

If you hate this game I'll never understand why. FANTASTIC!
What I am big fan of assin creed
worst one ever choosed
They should bring over black flag and rogue
@@PAIN007NAGATO why
Is it worth being $10 more than the other remastered versions of it?
Hopefully this leads to Black Flag being ported to Switch
It's the best of the series
Best one in the whole series.
@Jordan Sharpe the start is boring but once you are in its cool
The only AC worth playing.
Let's hope brother
We got this, back flag, and rogue on switch. Now we just need the ezio trilogy!
How's black flag and rogue? I just got ac3 if I like it should I get the rebel collection?
@@dylanellis4320 AC rogue is ok and AC Black flag is really good. I personally don't think the rebel collection is worth 40. Mainly because I don't really care for rogue. I'd suggest that you wait until it goes on sale but it's worth it for black flag on the go.
@@Nominod legend thank you! In Australia it's $90 😬😬 it's on sale for $65 right now lmao 🙄🙄 we only earn a small amount more than you guys do too aha I guess I'll sit on it for a bit thank you :)

I got assassin's creed 3 remastered on the switch today. 3 has always been my favorite. I love it.
Aqland mirror video gamer and collector if only it was actually remastered. It’s just a WiiU port. Not remastered in any way.
@@adaytorememberfan121 O it is. I didn't know. Thanks. But its still cool. I'm loving it.
@@adaytorememberfan121 Well, there are a few improvements in lighting and the native resolution docked is 1080p instead of 720p on the WiiU, but on the Switch there's much more texture compression (and it shows) and the audio crackles every single time the game autosaves. It's VERY annoying
It's my favorite too, it's awesome
@@adaytorememberfan121 it's remastered my guy... Ubisoft and other reviews do a side by side comparison, and there are improvements. It also says it on the game case, but believe what you want, you have that right.
I loved this game so much when it came back. And the "boring" beginning was the thing that I loved so much.
This is currently one of my favourite switch games, it has took me by surprise but I absolutely love the melee combat and climbing combined with the open world, I do hope we get more assassins creed games after this :)
Glad to see you jump on board, I was there at its launch in 2012, got both the expensive version that came with Connor's statuette, as well as AC III: Liberation for the Vita and played both of them to death over the years. I am so glad I now have them on Switch too with some minor improvements for AC3 and major ones for Liberation... you have no idea how bad it was on Vita, even though it was spectacular (ran so poorly, had so many bugs, glitches, you could only double assassinate by jumping on the guards - I actually did manage to pull off a double kill on the ground... ONCE, it was so rare and you have to be way too precise for it to trigger, sound was compressed a lot etc.), although, ironically, that version reused Revelations' water reflection, while AC3 had some horrible, muddy, murky water textures with no reflection, really rushed. And you'll see that while playing on Switch! 3 has no reflections still even though the water now looks cleaner, while Liberation retains the reflections! It's fascinating! And they are both great, especially portable! Enjoy!
minimimimaxiboy number 4 also looks really good I hope we get that next, I’m also loving liberations but 3 is just so good, It’s legit the best melee combat I have seen in a video game
Real Europe maybe they’ll port the ezio collection :)
Nicholas Abbott that would also be awesome
@Chris Goody 4 won't be remastered until next gen because it was already ported to PS4 and XBox1
I feel like you think this is the actual third game here is the list of games.

Yeah, I picked this up too and it consumes tons of my time now. Great game despite some technical flaws.
@Evan Savage hey Evan, I just picked it up and I'm planing on playing it tonight, reply to this comment later and I'll let you know how it sounds if you want
Evan Savage it’s decent... definitely not the best sound quality but it’s a huge step over the dark souls port. Voices sound great but the SFX took a dive.
Yo I got the game but how do you log on to the ubisoft club I made a new account and used my old one and it dosen't work same thing happend with starlink

I'm probably one of the only people who have liked this game since the original launch. It is probably my favorite game in the series.
Bro, are all AC games are related? Or all of them take time in different era ?
@@MafiosoDon21 they're all related, but most take place on different eras. Like Origins takes place in like 50 B.C. but Syndicate takes place in the mid to late 1800s
I liked 3 the most out of all of the games and involved revelations alot to
Black flag was the best, the modern games are just milking it. They're not even ac games. Assassins creed 3 on switch was awful, but the black flag port was perfect.

When this game first came out out it literally blew my mind with how different it was to the past entries and the graphical jump it had. I had no idea people hated this game at all. They still haven't released a game that reaches this level of great for me.
AC3 was severely misunderstood by alot of people.
Same here and i love this game i didnt kno alot of people didnt like this game
Same I remember I played it on the Wii U and I loved it!
It feels lacking of elements that made previous so good and fun. This game was a jarring transition for me from Revelations which had the beloved Ezio, the cool and useful hook blade, and of course the dense and beautiful city of Constantinople with its liveliness, interactivity, and traversal. AC3 was very different and in some ways a good and refreshing different like the fluidity and combat, but by the end of it, it felt a bit empty and lacking. I sorely missed Revelations after playing AC3, but AC3 was still a good game.
I love this format where you play while reviewing live. Never seen anyone pull that off
Youre joking right? no hate to rgt 85, but thats just as unoriginal as a top 10 lol

Just got my switch yesterday, and this was the game I chose to start on. Still getting used to the controls, it's the first console of any type I've owned lol, and I'm 50 in a few weeks! Always will be a pc gamer, but the Switch is intriguing. Looking forward to getting through the first part now :P
Get the Assassin's Creed Rebel Collection (Black Flag + Rogue) on the eshop for 20$ now! It's a steal price for a game of 2 and all dlc's
Congratulations man! I just got my switch too!
Hey Man. Im 50 too. Still been working thru all the lockdowns and stuff. Got a switch around 3 months ago. I was finishing up with Zelda and bought Witcher 3, Borderlands and Assassin Creed yesterday. I played Witched for a few hours yesterday. Couldnt get in to it and going to keep it for travelling when Im stuck in a hotel room with no beer for a few days. Opened up AC today. Only played around 5 hours bit been drawn in. Im still fumbling around in Boston and looks good so looking forward to getting thru the game. Looks fantastic. My last console was a PS3 and hardly played it in Australia. Too busy. Been thru the ZX81, Atari, Commodore, Mega drive etc over the years. I just bought this for the portability but only been on TV so far.
@@dougchristie2041 dont be afraid to just wander around. The almanac pages are good for working on your parkor in the city. Finding the feathers in the frontier can help you figure out navigating trees and how to deal with the animals. If you find beavers, man they are easy money. The fighting and stealth stuff is something you figure by failing alot so don't get too discouraged. Timing for a parry then using a counter is usually the best and most theatrical way to go about it. If stronger enemies push back your counter by punching you in the face, switch to using your fists. Press A when the red dot is over their head to begin the parry (you'll know you gotta it cause everything freezes for just a second) and instead of pushing Y to counter, press B and you'll take their weapon and they'll usually be so shocked you can get and one hit kill on them. Near the games end youll hit tier 3 enemies that can even block that but that will be a bridge to cross when you get there
Its on sale again, 50% off in case anyone is interested
Loved 1 and 2 but never got around to 3............but now that you mention it, I think it's time. Your rarely lead us down the wrong path, but you don't help us save money :)! Cheers man!
I was the same as you. Skipped it. Decided last year to go back to 3 (on 360)

Uhh I know it's been a year but what do u think of it
Actually Assassin's Creed 3 made a lot of big Innovations and improvements from Assassin's Creed Revelations and They carried on these new game play formats into black Flag and Rogue
I think this AC was one of the bests. Even today i think Connor is the most badass assassin of all. And the setup/environment is just perfect.
Sea men . . . I had to recalibrate my brain for few seconds there.
Hoping Black Flag makes it to the Switch. Would also love some remasters of the OG games.
Black Flag and Rogue are added to The Rebel Collection, and is coming to Nintendo Switch.
i like Assassins Creed 3 because the boat was not a big part of the game
Dark Death47xxx same with me lmfao the boat was the worst part
Most AC games don't have the ship mechanics.
The ship mechanics are far better in black flag and odyssey.
Its unique tho its so epic to fully upgrade your boat or go to hunt sum whales xD
personally i don't like the boats but i do on odyssey it just feels more free
My fiancée just got this game for her Switch today. I had it on X Box 360 for years. Sure a lot of people complained about the first part of the game. Because well. Most gamers have short attention spans. I highly enjoyed playing Kenway in the first 3 halves. Plus all the information in the beginning of the game really helps in the long run. I a just one of those gamers who loves the entire experience. Gets your moneys worth is what I say.
I LOVED this game when it came out in 2012 and I was so confused why people didn’t like it, and you know I had to buy it for the switch. It’s one of my favorites in the series
You and me both :)
This was my first AC game and I loved it on Wii U. I never understood the hate either.
Same except I have it on xbox 360
Glad you touch on these games. It's super awesome to hear opinions even though it's an old game. my
You’re not wrong! Loved this on WiiU upon release. It’s a stunning game once you’ve got past the first few hours. The more you put in, the more you get out. It ends a bit suddenly for me, but the extra DLC and liberation game makes this a great package. The sailing and woodland aspects are fantastic and the homestead stories are incredible. 👌🏻
I remember playing this game on my Wii U years ago. I was never a AC fan, but I had a blast playing it.
While I don't have the Switch version, I did have it on Wii U and found it immersive and very much enjoyable.
I seriously have no idea why Ubisoft hasn’t put AC1 and the Ezio trilogy on switch. It can definitely run them because it can run AC4 and rouge. It would just be a huge money maker so I would think that they will be on switch soon (hopefully)
I always loved AC III, had a hard time getting use to the main character, but once I went back to it I liked the story more. But when AC IV came out, that one is still my favorite to this day
Im so glad you like it. I’m waiting on fresh new titles. These old game are expensive on the Switch. Plus it looks the same as my Wii U version.. and I’m tired of buying games with issues.
Just ordered this game, glad to hear it's totally worth it; especially after the latest update, which apparently fixes the sounds mixing issues you mentioned.
Same
Totally agree RGT. Having a similar experience. Loving this game so far.
Excellent video RGT 85. I played AC3 on the WiiU and I had a great time with it, AC4 is better but AC3 is very fun. AC3: Remastered Collection on the Switch is more than worth picking up guys and is the game too get over the recent released games on the Switch.
Cool I never tried it will probably buy it.
@@turtleanton6539 yh check it out bro 👍.
Can't wait to see your reaction to the assassin's creed rebel collection coming to switch
Love this game until it makes you leave the simulation and I have to deal with boring desmond
just bought this game and i’ve played for about ten hours. it holds up pretty well with only a few issues; there are some frame rate drops, i’ve had audio issues when i load into a new area (and some characters have incredibly quiet lines of dialogue), the camera gets locked sometimes after a battle, and every now and then the subtitles will be wrong and give the character the wrong name.
however, the frame rate drops are only minimal, the audio issues only happen when loading into a new area for a few seconds (and you can read the subtitle for the dialogue), the camera issue can be fixed by aiming (after aiming, the camera moves freely again), and the subtitles are easy to look over when you recognise the voice of the person who is talking.
none of these things are gamebreaking though; i’ve had great fun playing it so far
I got this for my wii u back around the Wii u launch. I also never got the hate for the game it was great and traversing the wilderness was a nice change from the cities of all the other games.
I got my's yesterday and i love it. Also now i could take it on the go and I hope they bring more AC games. I heard they are bring AC black flag.
Late response but, I'm planning to get the game soon this Saturday. I've played the game before but never the DLC, nor the full version of Liberation which I adore a lot of. And I got the Switch last Friday too! And I got Deluxe!
I've never played this gsme but I am now. Great video and thanks for the review
Thank you! I played through this on PS3 and loved it. I never understood the hate for this game. It's really good.
It's only because Desmond is missing, the real story never progressed after AC revelations and they left revelations without any explanation...everybody was mad at them
Ac3 was an amazing game I loved it back then I didn't even know it came out on switch.
2, Brotherhood and Origins have been my favourite so far.
I played this back on the Wii U when there were those massive game droughts, I remember having some real fun with it, definitely an underrated game
I’m a sucker for early America settings. I’m loving this game but it’s nowhere near as optimized as the Dragon’s Dogma port
Carsten never was even on older consoles.
Carsten DD sacrificed a little more. The pop in is horrible
Let's hope for mass effect 1 to 3 to the switch
I don’t think I like that idea
I love that idea
Oh fk yes. Except it needs to be better optimised and sold as a trilogy.
Forget EA support
Just picked it up. The Switch desperately needs more games like this!
AC3 was my first. The trailers and the Revolutionary setting got me excited for this one. I may need to scoop this up!
I just got this game Wednesday for my Switch. I really do like this game from when I first played it originally and even now.
I absolutely love this game! It was actually the first Assassin’s Creed game I ever played, and I think it’s better than the first 2 games by far. I played it and nothing else until I beat it, which is rare for me.
AC3 for me, has with it a lot of memories and so it will always be my favorite AC game. I def hated the first couple hours playing as Haythem, but god damn was it addicting once I was able to play as Connor. Also, Connor's AC logo tomahawk is the best original weapon out of any AC game.
Your coverage really helped me make my mind up and so I went ahead and picked up a copy of this one. So far I really dig it. Great video bro!

AC3 has always been my favorite in the franchise, and it still is. I'm so glad it's on the Switch now!
Agreed
I've always raised an eyebrow wondering why people didn't love this game more. While I'd still consider AC2 my favorite by a long shot, I felt AC3 was a great change of pace after playing through Revelations.
@@cuckoophendula8211 Revelations is probably the worst AC game, period. Don't like it at all. I do think it has the best soundtrack though. Glad AC3 kept its musical motif. I wish the newer games would bring it back.
Awesome review. I played this originally on PS3 and really liked it. Only about to start sequence 3 on Switch. It is a bit of a shame regarding the audio. Also not much of a remaster, but still a fun game nonetheless. I never played any of the other content so I felt this was still a good value at 40 bucks
I played it and beat it on PS3 and loved every minute of it but the problems were way too obvious and always overshadowed the good for me imo, I might pick up this version and go straight to liberation since I didn't get a chance to play that one yet and I'm glad to hear that they cleaned up the graphics and frame rate for the switch
Played it year's ago and only got up to hunting as Conner then stopped playing, kept getting deja vu when i was playing on switch.
Then it clicked that i had played it many year's before, the game is great.
I only play in handheld and all in all i think it's a decent port an definitely an underrated game.
Ya, i only play in handheld,as well. This game is sooo awesome 👌
Love it since original 360 launch!!
I always thought that this game deserves more likes because of the different missions and activities that you do, also I love the combat especially when multiple enemies attack at the same time and it cuts to a cinematic sequence where he kills them all who attack him. The flow of the fights where my favorite in the series but I wasn't a big fan of the way the game began cause it traaaaaags and I can see why people were hating on the game at the time, ut once it opens up its a balst, Enjoy👍💪
3 was always my favorite since it came out. I thought it was the most interesting out of all of them but then I’m a sucker for the hero’s journey.
AC lll was always my favorite AC. To each their own I guess.
Mines too
Timothy Moynihan agreed!!!
When you're pissed and want to blow off some steam. This game is good on the go
Edit: So I bought this game while it was on sale on the eShop. Game runs so-so, framerate drops esp in Boston when loads of people fighting. I hope an update fixes this. Other than that, the game is good on the go
Great review! Subscribed
Hello @RGT85 would like to ask how does the game fare nowadays? Has Ubisoft fixed some of the issues like framerate and sound issues on the Switch version? I've been eyeing on getting it for my Switch now that its on sale. Kindly let me know if its worth it and if there are any issues I need to be aware of. Thank you!
I 100% this on my Wii U. I loved it!
I used to love playing the Wii U version online.
My first AC game was black flag and it was free for Xbox 360 and I loved it
Question do you still need DLC for outfits
RGT85; great video as usual! I can only agree with you. Just bought the game yesterday and it looks and play great. Never played that one before. The port is pretty solid, not a lazy one. This makes me wonder how was done the one for Bloodstained ROTN on Switch as it should be on par with XBox and PS ports as compared to ACIII is a lot more demanding of terms of raw power... Hat off to Ubi who did an amazing job on Switch! Have a great weekend!
I agree, this game is awesome. I will say that playing this in 4k on the Xbox one x is pretty freakin sweet. Definitely has some cut scene problems but who cares, I don't play the game for the cutscenes. Unless I need to smoke real quick and then really get into the game. ✌
I played and have this game in PS3. It is good. Wait tell the end and you will see why I dislike the game now..
The ending sucked
I hated it before the ending. The ending just increased it 100x
Hey Shaun, I picked it up on the Xbox One and PS4 when it released earlier this year! Won't get it on the switch for obvious reasons haha but not having it Portable doesn't really bug me lol i actually loved AC3 back on the PS3 back than!
Beat it on 360, played it on Wii u, and good damn they got me for another forty bucks today bc I stumbled upon your video. But I've never made it through liberation, played it a bit on vita, and started the remaster once... Maybe I'll finally play the whole thing.
Glad they are porting it. This is my favorite Assassin's Creed game. Implemented so many new features.

I totally agree with your point of getting bored with the franchise, I managed to last till Black flag when I finally gave up until I played Origins which really felt fresh and updated. I do remember liking Assassin's Creed 3 quite a bit and I will be playing it again on the Xbox One due to getting it with the Odyssey season pass. Would love to get the Switch version but I cant justify buying it again.
I totally agree, it’s a fun game and I don’t understand all the hate the Switch version is getting.
It's because it's on the Switch.
Its because cities tank the framerate down to the low 20's
Miguel de Lima mainly because compared to the other versions it’s just technically speaking the worst version of the game. My buddy has it on switch and it performs really horribly at times, the framerate especially gets pretty bad in some areas
