I loved seeing on their recent cast reunion that he and LC still keep in touch, all these years later! I guess the show was trying to force something between LC and Stephen but they never really seemed that close. Stephen is much more connected to Kristin, and Dieter to LC.
Rewatching this as an adult, I respect Lauren having the wherewithal with how angry she was to tell Dieter not to yell at Jessica because it was Jason that kissed her. She was way mature beyond her years. Thatâs why Iâve always like LC.

I really wish they had featured Dieter more on Laguna. Maybe he was mostly drama-free or didn't want to be on camera as much, but he was so smart, loyal, and effortlessly cool. The whole way he took charge and handled this situation in such a mature way still impresses me, all these years later.
