- George's best moments from the legends 7-a-side game v Man City held before the Sir Matt Busby Testimonial in 1991. This would be the final time George would grace the hallowed Old Trafford turf.
#Classic #Bestie #LastEver - Sport
I was sat in the crowd for this one with my Mum and Dad who was a lifelong Man Utd fan. Miss you, Dad - Hope you're watching George up there, every week.
Front row!
Love and Regards to your father, Michael. Hope he is doing great up there with the Best :)
RIP man, hope you are doing good during these testing times.
👍
Doubt it
Liverpool fan here, but I appreciate greatness and legends regardless of club. Don't care about the bs, toxic hatred of each other's clubs, I just love great footy and Bestie was and always will be a legend. RIP and to Styles etc too.
Well said, I can't stand any of the hatred between any rivals, it is just a game that we love but you should be able to appreciate great football & players from any club if you are a real football fan. Been a Spurs supporter for 50 odd years for my sins but I love looking back at the legends of yesteryear!
@@roytheboy1963 Agreed! Been a Liverpool fan 32 years personally and I've never wasted my energy or time hating, I don't understand it. I only support my own club and watch the greats from other clubs too. Maradona being my favourite as well as Gullit. I think this hatred thing is such a waste of life. All for banter but not hate. Good luck 👍
@@CamEraFitnessChannel I have a Son who is a Liverpool supporter, how did that happen lol
@@roytheboy1963
Your son clearly has great taste 👌 😅😂
I have Arsenal to thank for being a Liverpool fan...I was undecided as a 10 year old.
Anfield, 1989, Mickey Thomas, last minute winner to deny Liverpool the title. I felt so upset for Liverpool that night after Hillsborough etc. Then when I saw our fans stay in the stadium after to applaud Arsenal lifting the trophy after all they'd been through themselves, I knew I wanted to be apart of that. Ferry cross the Mersey, You'll never walk alone....the Anfield roar and atmosphere....I was hooked! Not to forget Barnes, Beardsley, Houghton etc. I was mesmerised.
@@CamEraFitnessChannel I remember watching it on ITV at the time with the late great Brian Moore saying "its all up for grabs now" good ole days, good to talk with ya cheers buddy
This was my first ever game at OT. Always tell people that I've seen Georgie Best play and they look at me funny as I'm only 40! lol
Amazing after all those years he could still could still make incredible plays. A true legend.
I first saw Best play in 1964 at Old Trafford. I was eight years old and my grandfather took me to watch the game. Law and Charlton also played that day, still have the match programme.
Absolute legend ,I havent seen this footage before .Maybe the best player in my own lifetime for sure ..Fabulous talent ..So sad that hes not here with us ..One of the true greatest British sporstman of all time ..Liverpool fan ..God Bless.
I dunno why 7/6/5 aside isn't more popular, would love to see a proffessional league
@Michael Glavimans I'm not on about changing from 11 a side😂 why on earth would you think i was on about changing the whole game 😂 there are already proffessional indoor football teams, but 6 aside seem to be not as popular even though it's extremely popular to play
There's actually a league in South America. Neymar started in these types of games.
@@gammarays666 You mean futsal? Yes, a wonderful version of the game that began in South America almost a century ago. The secret to the skill and flair that comes out of that part of the world.
@@Michael-cb5nm and diving
2:30 is outrageous, bounces it off the defenders shins like old times then a cheeky flair pass for the assist. He wasn't in the best shape but he still had that special something!
@irishmetalfan it's obviously on purpose and George Best was famous for doing it
@@saucybiscuits1150 he's like Jon Snow. He knows nothing
@irishmetalfan suppose you have led a much better life than George and succeeded in life!
@irishmetalfan that's because you are a cretin and you don't know what a good life really is you clown!
@irishmetalfan No complaints at all....i imagine if we asked the people closest to you they would have a very different answer to yours 😂😂
the mind was still there even if the body wasnt. What a legend. So glad I got to see him play here in America.
I had a fantastic time watching George best play for Hibs v Celtic fantastic footballer
I was glad I came across this video of some great legends, that sadly, some of them are no longer with us. RIP Legends of the beautiful game. ⚽️🙏🏴
I live round the corner from his childhood home.
Did a fair few foot patrols, back in the day! 😂😂😂 also lived in holywood, palace barracks for a couple of years too! 😂 parachute regiment
I'm a City fan but it was great to see bestie and Sir matt at the end....
He's STILL got it!
True, but his form really dropped off around 2005.
@@Hugh_Jurrection You could say that he wasn’t too good in 2005 considering he has gone underground.
Oh how the alcohol had aged George Best since his interview on Wogan in 1985 ..frightening . RIP Bestie , genius 🥰⚽️
2:30 just beautiful, the closest I've seen to that kind of confidence and composure at United after Best was Cantona, but I have to say I would have loved to have seen George Best more than any other player, if he'd have been Brazilian or Argentinian his name would be up there with Pele and Maradonna, to me at least he certainly is, breathtaking football player.
Pele did say that George was the best player in the world.
… Ronaldo?
@@dannytoots6635 Nah. For casual, chilled artistry.....gotta be Berbatov. czcams.com/video/2jqLlCZUCYU/video.html Enjoy!
@@davidsanderson5918 haha true, what a talent. Never came close fulfilling his potential though.
George best, what a player 🔥
Hard to believe this game was played 23 years after the 1968 final, which is almost the same amount of time which has passed since the 1999 final.
Wow Best was only 44/45 years old there.
Looked much older and a mere shadow of his former self.
Just shows what alcohol did to his body 😲
Tbf people looked a lot older back then. I remember a documentary on the ultimate warrior over a decade ago when he turned 50 at the time I was thinking wow he so young looking for a 50 year old. Even he would look old today as nowadays 50 year olds are walking around in tracksuits & caps like teenagers.
@@isaz597 Lmao that describes me to a tee!
Tracksuit pants and cap and I'm 51 but look 41 🤣
@@brucebiggy3593 lol sorry I wasn't trying to be unkind. I work in child protection & some of the parents I can't take seriously when they arrive dressed like that to important meetings. Maybe I need not to be so judgemental. I think 20 years ago people knew what a formal setting was
@@isaz597 No offence taken.
I'm just sporty by nature and only dress up when it's a night out or something that requires nice attire.
Let that be a lesson to you as you come towards retirement Cristiano.
Look after your body and go easy on the booze mate.
What a legend. RIP George.
RIP George Best
Never lost it great talant as Pele said he was the best
Ain’t even top 5 ever let alone the best lol
@@Batman1998- yep overrated
One of the greatest ⚽️😎
What an unreal video to see
Watched him at Old Trafford against West Ham around the time of their European Cup win over Benfica. He was just magic !!
The movement for the goal was class
Brian kidd still looks fit enough to be playing now.
Yeah but that was thirty years ago. Ha ha. He could still get a gallop on though couldn’t he.
RIP Georgie.
No matter how old George Best was, he still has the majesterio touch.
Reports of £160 million for Harry Kane ..... in that case, there wouldn't be enough money in circulation to buy George Best
Go on George❤🍀🔥😀
So many legends !!!!
George best is the one of the best legend of all the time
Acho isto fantástico! Muito bom.
George Best The Best!!
REST IN PEACE LEGEND
The thing about George best was even if you didn't support Manchester United you had to admire his talent.
Even then he makes it look so easy.
Watching today 23-8-2021.🔥
It was like watching Andy Fordham playing for United.
RIP the Belfast Boy.
mein ewiger HERO. Fußballer, Lebemann, Mensch!!!!!!!!!!!!
Respect George Best🙏
Look at that heal pass
George Best You are a Fantastic Football player you are the best George Best Good bye The Belfast Boy word Legend Maradona Pele Cruyff George Best is the Best
George best has incredible talents if he stay away from the alcoholic
Lies again? Serie A Leader
Old people looked really old in the 90s.. Funny how things change.
1:15
2:23 1st might be a fluke, but 2nd back heel is brilliant
Amen
OMG THAT CROWD!
Even this Best could walk into the current United side!
He'd have to walk. It doesn't look like he can run.
Maybe make the bench with Martial !!
@@freezerjoe that's what Jogba does anyway!
@@freezerjoe Steve Bruce & Paul McGrath couldn't run but they still did the job for United.

RIP Besty. Everton F.C.
Still has that football brain ⚽️ 🧠
Footballer's liver too, sadly. Actually, by that time he was probably abusing someone else's liver.
Would love to get the full footage, as anyone got any idea how I can get it please 🙏🏻⚽️
He was both a grand master and colorful bird in comparison to nowadays narrowly formatted and boring "professionals".
just watching big match revisited, fulham v charlton, with georgie boy through one on one with the keeper, he fell over his own feet and missed by a country mile, class
I'm still waiting someone compares this squad to Man U current squad haha
Tbf the modern Man U squad is looking incredible. And that’s coming from a nufc fan
Looks like 70's
This little 7-a-side matchup is a bit of a precurser to Masters Football that used to be on Sky Sports during the 00s summers.
Just past his prime 😂 but more skill in his little toe than 99% of the planet.
You better be from 1963-1984 or you cant say shit. Plus even bruno can be a better player at manchester united than him.
@@TheFerminramos Are you judging him on the performance in the video, or are you judging him on his performance in the 1968 European Cup final ?

Nice to see George Best in his prime.

I mean, none of us can play that well piss fkn drunk so we have to give him that
@@mac_-mtlmcal But when I'm drunk, I certainly think I'm playing that well :)
Great movement for his goal
ABSOLUTE LEGEND! RIP George
A player of class who, like Maradona, turned into a pudding…ultimately, Best robbed someone of a chance of life through his love of alcohol over all else…
Most geniuses are flawed, and yet sometimes the flaws make up part of their appeal I suppose 🤷♂️
He's human and made mistakes ...it happens Mr perfect
Actually, he was an alcoholic who took an organ donation on the promise he'd quit drinking and he didn't. That's not a mistake. That's criminal.
@@tomfielder8973 new to alcoholics?
@@tomfielder8973yeah but you show me an addict who says they've never broke a promise and I'll show you a liar. Take away George Bests problems off the pitch and what are you left with? World class football! It's just a shame that people like yourself have to focus on what he did in his personal life instead of just appreciating what he did on the pitch.
Guy on the thumbnail looked like Mr Luke Shaw
Best could still ping a ball like the best of em
f I could turn back time
If I could find a way
I'd take Myself back to those days
And you'd stayed soba
If I could reach the stars
I'd give 'em all to you
Then you'd see this clip
And play like you used to do
If only I could turn back time.
Manchester is Red
In 1991 Best is only 8 years older than Ronaldo is now...
I liked the ManU away shirt for that season...always reminds me of when LEEDS UNITED were crowned last CHAMPIONS OF ENGLAND 1992!!!!
The last time Leeds won anything major, in mean time the real untied have won 13 leauge titles, 2 champions leauges, europa leauge, World club championship, 5 fa cups, 4 leauge cups since then
@@diehard21000 The last time Leeds UNITED did win anything was only last year 2020 EFL Championship winners. What have Manure won since then?....Fuck all! You will never win the league again in your lifetime, fact!

George best can move for a big Ill old guy and that skill never dies
He was in his early 40s, he looked terrible lol. But yes you could see glimpses of his old skill se

0:32 It's so funny how he tries to dribble
I do feel they could have used adult sized goals.
Gotta say kiddo and crerand still moved well for their age
Did I see several offsides?
This is so depressing
Why?
What a Northern Ireland player the best
Look at the state of that pitch will you ? He couldn't be expected to perform on that carpet.
Wheres the bobbles ? Wheres the mud !
The Best.
Reminds me of a father Ted episode
I wonder if their manager had fake joke arms too?
Everyone lauds him as the greatest ?
He he had what 4 or 5 years then became a drunk and chose the drink over everything.....the Greatest Disgrace of talent maybe but the Greatest Ever ?
Gimme a Break and I'm Northern Ireland Irish Blood
Had more tricks than paul daniels, genius
george was only 45 here
Seriously overweight, but can still show these so-called professionals a thing or two.
Was overweight years before, sad to see. Wasted talent.
@@THOMASCOLTON1 unfortunately, yes. He was actually looking more like his old self in the last couple of years leading up to his death. So sad.
June want to ask why was the goal on the edge of the edge of the penalty area?
7 v 7 .... pitch is smaller
Because all the players were pushing 50 yrs and 7-a-side on a full size pitch would not be entertaining?
2:31 😎
Who's George best never heard of him,,,, ynwa liverpool fc
😈✨
😢 0:37
I wonder how much his transfer fee would be today ?
How much u wanna bet George puked after this!!!
