  • The Tracker from Vintage Electric Bikes is a powerful, high speed, heavier electric bike akin to a moped with limiter settings for around town use (750 watt, 20 mph in Street Mode) and optional Race Mode (2800 watt 36 mph). Popular as a pit bike on race courses, used frequently in Indonesia because it stays cooler than internal combustion powered mopeds. Single speed drivetrain, available in one size high-step only, large comfortable tires with Kevlar lining, integrated LED lights, optional rear rack and optional pedal assist. Custom Aluminum alloy frame with color matched fender and rims, oversized hydraulic disc brakes for great stopping power vs. older versions, solid warranty and good customer support to keep the bike on the road.

    I love that these bikes are so stylish. For e-bike and bicycle usage to grow it has to appeal to all types including those for whom style is important.

    Very impressed with the review and have never seen a better review of any product.
    Just watched the 2018 review clip, great bikes.
    I'd have one tomorrow if they came with 27.5 rims and a large/XL frame.

    Pros: Man that thing is kewl, suspension, mega power/huge battery! Cons: Way out of my price range, more motorcycle than bike, only one size! It would be fun to rent for the weekend, but I can't see myself riding it year round. Another outstanding review on an ebike I never new existed! And props for taking it for more than just a block or two, it looked like a lot of fun to ride!

    It's nice ebike. But the price for suspension for 'upgrade' is sick in my opinion - 1150$. This fork is being made in 2002 and it's Stratos S8 with cuted fork. You can check in google. And the battery indicator looks very cheap and have only 3 levels of capacity. For base 5000$ is nonsense. By the way the rest is nice. Thats my opinion.

    • @bonafide9085
      @bonafide9085 Před 5 lety

      Actually it is a former White Brothers double crown inverted fork. Now belongs to MRP and they make these forks for Vintage Electric. Stratos S8 is very similar looking fork.

    Good review, nice looking bike. what is the top speed when its off road mode (non street legal) I think I would have concerns with moisture getting into the wheel motor cable connection exposed and so close to water spray from the front wheel.
    Are the Hub motors manufactured in the US or in China?????? it looks very similar to the ones I use for conversions and they come from China. 1500 W 52V battery rated to do 72km ph but the most I got so far is 62km ph . Eco mode cycle assist range is 100km .

    Would love to see someone make a classic beach cruiser style bike like this with that 1950s look but manage to hide all the battery cells inside the frame. Maybe cells in all the tubes all the way around and stuffed inside that fake gas tank thing all those old bikes have. If it could be made to look just like a normal bicycle but with all the modern electric bike features it would be great. Maybe small hub motors in both front and back for the power but still be small enough to not really notice. A springer fork and spring saddle to keep the old look.

    • @ElectricBikeReview
      @ElectricBikeReview  Před 8 lety

      +plaid13 That sounds beautiful... Do you have a link to an image of what you're thinking? I've seen bits and pieces but I'd love to see something more exact from a Google image search.

    • @plaid13
      @plaid13 Před 8 lety

      +ElectricBikeReview.com Something like a 1950 schwinn black phantom. Would need to have thicker frame tubes to make it stronger and route wires through and maybe hide some of the cells somewhere other then the fake gas tank. OR the 1950 schwinn hornet It has a huge fake gas tank type thing that could hide a hell of a battery pack.
      Would be hard to decide what way to go with the motor and stuff though. Maybe a cvt hub for gear changing and a mid drive motor. Or two small gearless hub motors. Whatever it takes to hide the fact that it is an electric bike and keep that classic 1950s bicycle look and feel but still have enough power to make long distance quick electric bike rides. If the whole frame was designed around the concept of hiding ebike parts it could be pretty nice. All that frame tubing being empty on most bikes just seems wasteful.
      50s bicycle style with modern ebike tech could be amazing. Maybe a nice clean belt drive instead of a chain. a built in LED light. They could hide a lot behind those big chain guards those bikes had.

    Overpriced, but a good design to use as a standard for a home build, I'm planning on a build in this style, but a little more aggressively designed, lifepo4 headway cells, bbshd, similarly place batt, hide a satiator charger in a false tank with a toolkit and lock, I use the shwalbe big apples on my current build and they are the same as this, just different tread pattern (cheaper too) this bike will also cost me less than half the tag to build, do your research and learn how to diy, the reward is far more gratifying!

    • @Craig91214
      @Craig91214 Před 8 lety

      +Ronan Carter Oh yeah?! Will you build one for $2500-$3000 for me?

    • @SparkArmoury
      @SparkArmoury Před 8 lety

      nope, moved on to a cheaper project, lost sight of practicality, once I got beyond a certain price point in the design it became easier to buy a non-working motorbike and restore it myself, thus I dropped the project, but if you want to do it I would recommend a ruff cycles porucho frame running their 65mm rims, a sturmey archer rk5 disc hub, bbshd, lifepo4 10ah batt x2, use one till it dies, still have charge to get home, and a decent sprung saddle alongside a triple clamp front air-fork for adjustability, weight, and for braking force, also, schwalbe 26" big apple/fat frank 2.35 tyres, it would have a similar look to this bike, but again, more aggressive, also a bmx to bsa bottom bracket adapter will work to fit the bbshd to this particular frame, but mount it so the motor it rotated pointed toward the saddle inside the triangle, best of luck!

If you want to ride without a license and insurance, prefer a lighter weight bike, appreciate quiet and want to go on paths and places motorcycles aren't allowed then this is a good option. If you like unlimited distance and want off-road then a dual sport would be great, they make electric motorcycles now that are pretty cool too: amzn.to/2e0iFLN
