    Lyrics:
    Crying parents tell their children
    If you survive, don't do as we did
    A son exclaims there'll be nothing to do to
    Her daughter says she'll be dead with you
    While foreign affairs are screwing us rotten
    Line morale has hit rock bottom
    Dying embers stand forgotten
    Talks of peace were being trodden
    Stand or fall
    State your peace tonight
    Stand or fall
    State your peace tonight
    Is this the value of our existence
    Should we proclaim with such persistence
    Our destiny relies on conscience
    Red or blue, what's the difference
    Stand or fall
    State your peace tonight
    Stand or fall
    State your peace tonight
    It's the euro theatre
    It's the euro theatre
    It's the euro theatre
    An empty face reflects extinction
    Ugly scars divide the nation
    Desecrate the population
    There will be no exaltation
    Stand or fall
    State your peace tonight
    Stand or fall
    State your peace tonight
    It's the euro theatre
    It's the euro theatre
    It's the euro theatre
    Stand or fall
    Stand or fall
    Stand or fall
    Stand or fall
    Stand or fall
    Stand or fall

    I was 21 when i bought "reach the beach" and from the they gave me a soundtrack for the eighties.. they were underrated. Jamie West Oram suddenly apears with Tina Turner in her Comback 1985. That made me smile, because i allways knew He is a brillant guitar player

    The old expression is so true, they just don’t write them like that anymore! This was a sound that revolutionized the 80’s. We got our fix from the Fixx. It was cool cruising around the city at night back then listening to this song. No cell phones, no internet, just the airwaves bristling with life. Twas a great time to grow up. Enjoy! Thanks for sharing.

    I personally think that the fixx was one of the better bands that came out of England in the eighties Totally underrated.

      So underrated. They were one of those bands who put M.TV on the map deffinatley.im 50 and still listening to the fixx. They are a part of my childhood which in these days nostalgia is all we have with the drama around the world. Listen to a fixx track and remember when music life and times were good.

    Thank God for The Fixx. They were a great alternative before “alt rock” was even a term. I saw them several times back in the day and I was always thoroughly entertained. Not hair metal, not AOR, not Arena Rock but just high quality great music that anyone could enjoy.

    This could not be more relevant today. The Bill of Rights is not the us constitution, it is the agreement by which the us constitution was agreed to.

    • @HumGuitar
      @HumGuitar Před 4 lety +2

      Huh? Amendments are simply changes/additions to the Constitution, therefore, they are part of the Constitution. What does your statement have to do with the song any way??

    • @NH2112
      @NH2112 Před 4 lety +4

      HumGuitar The Bill of Rights are a collection of amendments protecting the rights of the people and states by delineating boundaries the federal gov’t can’t cross. A majority of the states said there’d be no ratification of the Constitution without these protections and limits.

    • @Tracymmo
      @Tracymmo Před 2 lety +2

      This is a British band, so they weren't singing about the US Constitution. You can certainly interpret the song as you like, but it's about nuclear war. The opening verse is a family talking about surviving or dying in a nuclear attack that's starting. "It's the Euro theater" -- Europe was seen as the possible theater of war for "limited" nuclear attacks between the Soviets and US. The USSR and the US and NATO had short range nuclear missiles in Europe for that very purpose.

    I saw The Fixx at a festival called Mex Fest in Tijuana BCN Mexico, back around 1987. The concert was sponsored by 91X. They played with BIONGO, the Bangles, Chris Isaak, the Hoodoo Gurus & Squeeze and some Modelo cans. This song brings those great moments back.

      VH1 is the 'true music' network, that MTV actually established in recent years. One is an offshoot of the other.
