其實金河广場最早的百货公司不是Parkson，是吉利市(Klasse)。此外，Metro Jaya並不在金河广埸，而是在隔壁的BB plaza...只是两个广埸相通，一般人会误以为Metro Jaya在金河广埸
今年初五即是昨午，因到柏威年欣赏新年布置，顺道走去金河广场，疫情当下的金河冷清得可怕，很多店铺都关闭了，人流更稀疏得很，曾经历过当年的风光，再看今天凄清的金河，似乎有撑不下去的感觉。
Our favorite hang out place back in the 80s and 90s, especially the arcades. Sg Wang was also a very famous place for buying video games, lots of store selling Sega Megadrive, Super Famicom, Pc Engine and Neo Geo games. Miss the good old days.

以前新年前就必须去金河买新衣服剪头发。哈哈
但早在2010年时金河就开始没落了。
现在很难翻身，因为建筑空间太窄小，而且很难有一目了然的广阔空间。比起现在的其他广场相比，金河有点压迫感。
觉得重建比较有希望，可能做酒店，商城和娱乐场一体服务。。
Back in my school days we used to spend the whole day wandering around Sungei Wang, BB Plaza, Imbi, Low Yat, and later Times Square. We didn't have much money but we had plenty of time and made do walking around window shopping and dreaming of buying this or getting that. My friends were into cars and would look at accessories, decals, etc. I was into IT and would check out the new hardware and buy a few pirated games. We'd play Initial D and Daytona in the arcade, dig out some books at the discount books store, and maybe have a drink at Bayu Timor or cookies at Famous Amos. We'd even ride the monorail 1 stop from Imbi to Bukit Bintang just for fun.
Ah yes the Initial D arcade with the card system, where we would spent a fortune just to get the right picture on that card

Ice rink with disco music n disco lights n crystal ball with the occasional live band at Sungai Wang in late 70s that is the closest i get to feel n enjoy the disco era. Tidak di benar keluar malam..kena belajar utk spm😪😇
小时候2000s 妈妈都会带我们去金河广场好怀念的famous Amos 饼干和玩具，衣服 当时候我还记得两千年年代的金河广场还是蛮多人的但是个人比较喜欢去金河和pavilion
Growing up hanging out at Sungai Wang and Bukit Bintang, really bring back good memories. I even worked at Metro Jaya for several months.
上个月顺便去走走全都换新的不错，还有很多老店还在。
I’ve experienced all these from BB Park days. But I’ve stopped going there since maybe 15 years ago. Most memorable shops there is of course the huge KFC on the LG floor with waiters. The two huge cinemas. Definitely a lot of memories for me

南苑游乐场，小时记忆只剩下高高的“风兜”（merry go round). 金河兴起时也是贺岁片概念开始的时候。MPH和Metrojaya 都在同连的bukit bintang plaza, 两边的地砖不同颜色（黄褐色和青色）.KFC有提供免费的冰水，用鲜艳夺目的plastic 杯具，放学后在KFC待半天可以和同学吹水到满桌面都是杯子。大人餐厅的东坡肉是一绝。金河戏院块六一张票的位子可以调整斜度。总统戏院千万不要买8角钱的第一排位，除非你不怕颈痛。大门口的photokem 现已不在了。Parkson 和Metrojaya 每年的grand sale 是一大盛事。金河和BB plaza 的counter 是很繁忙的，每各不久就会听到“某某，你的朋友在大门/counter等你”。金河的car park从来都是刚弯进Sultan Ismail 路就开始排队。很多人都曾经有过要拿车时找不到车的位置。现在的MPV 如进入金河不知还要不要担心刮到车顶！好怀念！-90后移居到槟城的60后

还记得不到18岁偷偷跟朋友进滑轮场，几年后的学校假期就在那边的百盛服装部做假期工。
自从隔壁的商场因地铁建设被关门变成城市废墟 金河生意就一落千丈。
好怀念金河广场 希望不会倒闭
Even though I'm not malaysia but I visited KL a lot of times and the smell of famous amous in sungei wang is hard to forget. Shame they had to close down BB plaza though and now sungei wang is just a husk of its' former self
怀念当年的肯德基，看到这画面就想到以前炸鸡的味道。。。。。
回忆真多啊。 希望可以做做Kota Raya和Pertama Complex, 还有Batu Road 和 Hanyu Jaya

Kota Raya 现在是菲律宾广场😆😆😆都是他们的店，他们的人在诳，我进去我变成焦点，全部看着我好像我不应该进去一样，我还看见有人用菲律宾皮索跟店交易🤦♂️

我喜欢去金河广场 2年纪时候饿了可以去顶楼吃吃吃 可是现在没有了呜呜呜 饿了只可以去别的地方吃东西

真伤心。金河是我中学时期最潮流、最有活力的商场，还记得六楼很多日式服装店和Red Box。如今已奄奄一息，感触良多。有些商场不是改装后就会活起来，你看当年的凤凰广场，改装后依然不行。KL Plaza变成Fahrenheit之后也是活不起来。
曾经最爱去六楼的玩具店，玩yugioh卡

You information was a bit inaccurate ... Mid Valley / Sunway Pyramid basically took away at least 60% of the customers ... my mom was one of the oldest tenant there with her friends ... management became sloppy , place was unsafe especially at staircase / toilet which many customers got pickpocketed... more and more bangla / Middle East hired by new tenant ...
that’s what make almighty sungai wang fall so low
Ah my apology, I tried my best to make sure the information provided are correct. I think the other reasons are also the interior structure and also the shopping experience. They did some renovations while back, hopefully that will make a difference.

@@wohenserious 感谢为金河广场做记录影片，实属难得。这个横跨3代人的集体记忆商场。影片2:08 那餐厅名字与背景图片不符？该是适苑酒家。到现在还毅力不倒。真的没多少家历史那么悠久的酒家了。认真觉得，如果想让这片子作为历史记录，就该尽量记录无误。考虑小修改吗？那后代人才能够搜索对的资料。也许将来别人会参考这片、甚至挪用部分影片的。再次感谢。
大概找了一下，适苑是茶楼，乐园和麦二是酒楼。只是图片错了。

@@wohenserious 我爸也告诉我以前大多数人结婚都会来这几家酒楼结，当时八零九零年代在这些酒楼结婚就已经算是有钱的人了。只是现在都已经变成普通餐厅了，但适苑酒家还是在pudu那里屹立不倒的话还是有他的个人特色吧
