I am planning to take in August. And I am trying to pursue a carrier as a Medical Laboratory Scientist. I have a bachelors in Biological Science and My Dad inspired me to further my education. Since the beginning of my journey to study in the USA coming from Brazil he has been supporting me in my dreams. He has recently passed away in January and the last thing he said to me was: "Work Hard, Study hard and trust in God" and this is what I have been doing.

Hi James! I’m scheduled to take the GRE THIS JULY!! I’m so nervous! This might sound super self absorbed but someone who has inspired me is myself, 10 years from now. Thinking about what my life could be like, the lives I could be impacting, and the fact that the future is so unknown is motivating and inspiring. A big quote that has stuck with me and that I refer too when I’m doubting myself and abilities is “if you don’t believe in yourself, why would anyone else?” That quote really keeps me going and forces me to keep pushing forward and have confidence.
Also I just want to say, I’ve been following you from what seems to be the beginning and I just want to say thank you for being someone I can look up too in regards to this PA journey.

🤞🏼🤞🏼Im taking the GRE JUNE 1ST! So pray for ya girl please 🤞🏼🤞🏼 on the other hand, as cheesy as it may sound... My grandma has been my biggest inspiration. I’m her very first granddaughter to graduate from college and to pursue a career as a P.A. She had a dream of her own to become one. Unfortunately, she didn’t have a chance to follow her dreams because she was believed to be a “a stay at home mom” and couldn’t become something more because she was a “woman”. She tells me that even though she couldn’t achieve her dreams, she’s proud to see me pursue mine. I’m not only pursuing my dreams to become a P.A. But I want to dedicate my achievements to her.

I plan on taking the GRE this summer! The people who inspire me are my parents. They are immigrants who were unable to finish middle school due to poverty. They came to the USA in order to give me the opportunity to have an education. I chose to become a PA because of health issues my family have gone through while struggling with insurances that they were not able to afford. I want to make that positive impact in low income neighborhoods and help them as much as I can. And this is all thanks to my parents for doing their best to keep me in school and never giving up on me.

What’s up James. I’m taking the GRE in August. I graduate undergrad in May and from there I’m spending the rest of my time studying for the GRE. I took it once and was disappointed in my score, I know it doesn’t reflect my abilities. Anyway, I wasn’t inspired by a single person but my motivation came after I dropped out of college for 4 years. During that time hit a huge rough patch but I overcame became an EMT and began to dig deeper into the medical field. I learned what a PA was and feel that it is my calling. Then after following a bunch of PAs on IG and shadowing I see how great, caring, and kind hearted they all are. I get more inspired everyday by watching videos and listening to pod casts and honestly man your videos are a huge motivator. Keep doing what you’re doing cause you’re inspiring many of us and you’re an honest representation of the PA profession and I hope I can do the same one day too.

Hey James! I'm planning on taking the GRE in later in the Fall this year. I was inspired by a coworker I met at my second job I ever got when I was in high school. I knew she went to my high school and was 4 or 5 years older than me. However, when I met her I found out she went to the same college I was planning on going to. She told me about the PA profession and I just remember being so inspired. Soon after I met her that summer I remember her telling me about an interview she got for a PA program and how nervous she was. Later on she ended up getting accepted and from seeing her excitement I knew it was the path I was going to take as well. I can't wait to experience that feeling she felt when she told me she got accepted!

Freshman year of high school my sister was diagnosed with leukemia and we spent a lot of time in the hospital with her. Thankfully she is cured now. Then I learned about PA and through youtube channels like yours I was sure that I wanted to do PA instead of another medical profession. Thank you!

Amazing advice, highly recommend Magoosh as an addition for people who are auditory or visual learners because its all videos and online practice exams/quizzes! Taking my GRE and the end of this month (may push it a little further into May - TBD) and its STRESSFUL but manageable with full time job/volunteering/etc. One of my biggest inspirations: my best friend Kendall, even tho she is planning to go to Medical School - we are going through the exact same paths right now with a gap year, applications, our entry test (GRE/MCAT), work, etc. but her positivity and motivation is an inspiration that keeps me level headed and reminded of why i love this career path in the first place. When your best friend goes into healthcare with you and she understands all your healthcare memes & pick up lines, shes a keeper :)

My neighbor, who is a surgical PA, has influenced me the most because he allowed me to shadow him for a week and showed such compassion each and every day. He showed me what is was like to be a PA and he taught me how to absolutely love medicine. I originally thought I would be a doctor (it’s what all my friends planned to do so it was one of the few options I really knew about), so I majored in biology with the full belief that I would go to med school. But then I came across your videos, and they educated me on what it is to be a PA. You showed me that there were other opportunities in healthcare besides just being a doctor. Thank you for taking time off and filming these videos to help us on our own journey! I'm planning on taking the GRE in the fall/winter in hopes of applying next cycle.
There wasn't really someone specific who inspired me to go into the healthcare field or in deciding I wanted to be a PA. I used to be a part of a non-profit org at my college that provided free medical exams and social services to low income/homeless individuals. I only started in the org wanting to give back to the community, not really interested in the field, but going to case work and meeting the clients (we called them clients over patients since we offered many more social services compared to medical treatment) who frequented the clinic week after week showed me what it meant to provide good hospitality in the healthcare system, not just good medical treatment. Over the year, I became acquaintances and friends with homeless clients that I never would've imagined I'd hug or even approach before I was apart of the organization. They taught me that people are different, yet everyone is the same, trying to live a happy fulfilled life. It was one of the best and enlightening experiences I could have ever asked for. That's what inspired me to go into the healthcare field and be a PA.

Thanks for the video and the opportunity to get this material to begin studying!

Hey fresh prince! I plan on taking the GRE this summer! Someone who has inspired me has honestly been you! I was almost about to give up my journey to PA school because I didn’t think my gpa was good enough especially when prehealth advisor basically told me I wouldn’t get in with a 3.4.......that night I googled and found your video and you motivated me so much! I just wanted to let you know because I am so thankful for your channel and I will be applying next cycle!

    Hi James!
I am planning on taking the GRE this coming July or August, and this video really was an encouragement for me. Somebody who inspired me to pursue becoming a PA is a friend that I had in Guatemala when I lived there with my parents who were missionaries. Seeing her and many others being deprived of proper access to healthcare really impacted the way I have molded my life so far! Thank you for all of the tips and constant support:)

Hello! I just discovered your channel yesterday while searching for PA students videos and your channel was the only one I found the most helpful! I am Italian, but I moved to CT 4 years ago for college. PA is not a career practiced around Europe, so I remember the first time I encounter it, I was shadowing Plastic Surgeons at a private clinic for my senior high school internship, and I remember this surgical PA showing up only during surgical operations, not much during patients consulting hours. Then I found out what his job was, but still coming from Italy I didn't really understand the point of having a PA. Now, after 3 years of undergraduate as a Biology major, I am starting to planning for my future, and after watching a PA vs MD Q&A video on CZcams, I actually think PA would be the best career for my personality. I am not much of an authoritarian figure, and I love to so teamwork, also I think surgical PA would give me a much more rounded career in the hospital, b helping in a variety of medicine fields.
I still have 1 year left before graduation, and I am going to shadow a Breast Cancer Surgeon and doing some pharmaceutical research at my college. Me and my twin sister were both on the same undergraduate path until this semester, when she decided Biology and a career in medicine was not the best path for her. The only problem is that she already bought Kplan books for the MCAT 1 year ago, and now that I am sure 100% that I want to become a surgical PA, your KPLAN materials would be very helpful. Please keep on posting new videos, and maybe do some vlogging because I have been binge watching your channel since last night non-stop!!
Also, the thing that inspired me the most to peruse a career in medicine, is when I broke both my left tibia and fibula, and my family friend, an orthopedic surgeon, found out they had made me a very bed cast, and if he hadn't noticed in time, I would have had to undergo a super unnecessary surgery! From that episode, I always had a deep respect for the medicine field and I wanted to be a part of that as an adult!

This was easily one of the most helpful videos I’ve watched so far!! Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video, I can only imagine how busy you are. I’m planning on taking the GRE the third week of August 😊. I was initially introduced to the PA profession by my mother’s pain management doctor, he took the time to sit down and speak to me about the pros and cons. He also allowed me to shadow the PA’s and NP’s at his practice, the whole staff was dedicated to providing the best health care experience possible (which is what I strive to do). That was about two years ago and ever since then, I’ve been watching your videos. You’re awesome for allowing us to follow you on your journey, thanks James !

I'm planning to take the GRE for the second time in mid-May just to see if my GRE score could improve by a few points. I have an average GPA and average hours of PCE so I'm hoping a higher GRE score will push me over the edge to get into PA school! I chose the PA path when I started working as a medical scribe and got to work alongside a PA. The PA at my clinic showed me all the wonderful aspects of being a PA and I truly hope to be like him as a PA one day! He is my inspiration from switching to MD to PA.

Thank you for such an informative video! I really appreciate how you focused on strategies rather than the content - because let's be real, being familiar with the structure of standardized tests is at least half the battle. Fun fact, research have shown that standardized test scores correlates with socioeconomic status and is significantly less about the content!
With that said, I'm planning to take the GRE in August/ September and would greatly appreciate any materials/ information regarding the test to help me obtain a higher score. A person who inspired me most on my PA journey is a PA I met in the ED during an internship. He was super passionate about his career and was a strong patient advocate. He was also extremely considerate and looked out for patients, coworkers, and students alike. While my role was to be a fly on the wall, he always looked out for me and my peers and even offered us shadowing opportunities! His enthusiasm for his career path encouraged me to switch career paths and flip my entire undergraduate career upside down. Hands down one of the most inspiring mentor's I've met (even if he's unaware of this haha)!

Hi James, I’m planning on taking my GRE in July! Thanks for this video it answers many questions I had! Someone who has inspired me into the PA profession was myself and my parents. I came to accept I wasn’t pursing the profession of my dreams due to pressure and doubt in my own self in thinking I couldn’t study medicine. I am a first generation college graduate so that also had an impact on me but one day I said enough. I was going to stop having fear, doubt and telling me myself I couldn’t do something. I came back to school Spring semester to change my pathway and degree to pursue the profession that has always called my name. My parents have been 100% supportive more than I could ever ask for! They inspire me to face my fears, break labels but most importantly believe in myself.

Thank you so much for just having this giveaway and for your advice! I am planning on taking the GRE in the Fall of this year. Someone who has inspired me is Adanna the PA (for the same reason that you have as well). Most PA schools are very white and female and there is nothing inherently wrong about that, but it's harder to imagine yourself in that field without minority representation. Seeing both of you being successful in this field has been really helpful in encouraging me to continue along this journey as a black woman. Besides that, I guess I have found inspiration to continue to work towards PA school in myself and knowing that this is a goal I want to accomplish. Looking at it in terms of trying to make my future self proud, has been a big motivator for myself especially when I have times of self-doubt and even imposter syndrome in certain spaces. Thanks again for putting this type of content out there.

I loved what I seen and from that day forth I knew I had to join this field. Now 4 years working in the medical field I have chosen I want to be a professional and have set out on my adventure.
