That's your opinion. From many other views you might be wrong on this. There has definitely been a shift in Nios strategy and I believe profitability is a factor in this.
Well I think they should first reach the point of Break-even, & then if everything goes well, we might start seeing profitability. So their guidance & trajectory would be interesting & also showing the way they handle the costs quarterly is very important. Beside all these, one interesting fact about NIO is the cascade of surprising milestones which can change everything (e.g. partnerships & market penetration). This makes NIO in a unique position which we don't see in many companies imo
Profitability is not likely this year. I just want to see how we get there in the next year or two and the numbers start matching the predictions. Aaron is really excited and I can't blame him. There is a lot of positive going on but with launching a brand, moving closer to the firefly launch and continued investments I see it as very unlikely. My best case scenario would be improving margins.

To me, it's interesting how narratives are created, especially the one with "if nio reports profitability, then the stock moons". If stocks were this easy, then retail would be winning. That view undermines numerous things I feel determines NIO stocks price, glad you mentioned it. I never really cared to address it personally because I think people are entitled to their own opinions, but that one in particular coild pressure management into taking decisions that aren't optimal for potentially larger revenues and profits in the future. I've read the application details, but I didn't see any profitability requirements. I couldn't find any detail from NIO on that, do you have any info on that?
I agree. Upfront licensing fee (i.e one time P&L item) could help P&L short term but to become profitable margins need to improve consistently and I don't see it in short term given intense competition. I am still very optimistic. NIO is on the right track.
Something off topic i found funny.. on Twitter there are a lot of nio enthusiasts sending tweets so I've seen some guys says things like he blocked me without mentioning who and then some others commenters responding with was it Marcel? I don't know why but i found that very funny. Are you a serial blocker marcel?
China is the biggest EV market. NIO does not need to expand outside of China to become profitable. NIO will undoubtedly expand internationally...and will hopefully do so in a measured responsible way. But, it doesn't need to to get to profitability.

FCF is a true indicator. Earnings can be very creative.

Never... shares are so diluted it would be highly unlikely for it to get back to that. Being that it is a Chinese stock isn't helpful either.
