alicent was right, she talks facts, rhaenrya as much as i like her did fount her duty and sacrificed nothing, where as alicent has been in the middle of a tug of war between her friend and her family but most of all her duty to her king and her husband, she was a fantastic wife yet she was always second choice which was appalling really after everything she had done for viserys.
Rhaenyra didn’t have to fight or sacrifice anything (up to this point), so what? Rhaenyra was born the heir. Alicent was merely Viserys second wife. They had different lots in life and different duties. That’s not Rhaenyra’s fault. All well. Alicent is just bitter and jealous. She should be blaming her father.
I disagree, Rhaenrya had to sacrifice her feelings of grief towards her mother and her friendship to Alicent because of her duty to her family. She also was forced to marry and try to have children with a gay man who by all intentions seemed to be infertile and to relieve the pressure they decided for her to have children with another man to probably ward off pressure by her family (her father and former best friend). I don't see Alicent as someone who wouldn't bully Rhaenrya into having children since she is so black and white on performing your duty, especially with what she had done to her by Viserys and her father. Though that didn't turn out so great either as proven by her being bullied by everyone who decides to take a jab at her children. She may not have had to sacrifice as much as Alicent, but both women still struggled partially by the other's actions. Though I am definitly biased towards Rhaenrya. I like both girls in the beginning until Alicent actually does what her father commands of her and doesn't tell Viserys the truth when he declares he wants to marry her. I think it was pretty obvious by her expression but Viserys was seriously blind to what was going on around him and should have chosen his wife. Honestly, I attribute his survival to her presence and guidance before the show cause he made the worst decisions ever.
Rhaenyra wasn’t born the heir and isn’t …. Why was viserys not mad at the queen that never was comment? Because there is a legal line of succession…. Rhaenyra would have to kill her brothers no other way around it….vaemond was a heavy threat which is why daemon baited him as an excuse because viserys had no right and did break law against house valyron…. Even lords and kings are to follow those laws which was why many didn’t like daemon

The only thing that trumps her obedience to her father is her duty as a mother to her terrible children. All of it comes from a place of moral superiority. Alicent is nothing like Cersei. I don’t get the comparisons. Also, the Alicent in the show is much more nuanced. I feel sympathy for her because she’s been put in a really unfortunate position.

The high-class crown princess cannot be pardoned or forgiven for this transgression. The princess swore on her mother's grave than nothing. That's a lie, princess word can never be trusted again.
Cersei is a Lannister girl who never had to challenge a rival house . But, Alicent challenged the Targs. by literally becoming the Green Queen and making her sons wearr the same. She was only 16 when she entered the hall wearing the green gown in front of the whole realm. One good thing about Cersei is she doesn't do virtue signalling like Alicent who shows how religious she is. Alicent is more complicated and diplomatic as well.
